“In July of 2013, I was raped by Charles Payne. In July of 2017, I was raped again by Fox News."

Courtesy of the New York Times:

Fox News, which for more than a year has dealt with the fallout from an embarrassing sexual harassment scandal, was sued on Monday by the political commentator Scottie Nell Hughes, who claimed that she had been raped by the longtime anchor Charles Payne and was then retaliated against by the network after she came forward with her allegation.

Mr. Payne, the host of “Making Money” on Fox Business, returned to the air this month after the network suspended him in July pending an investigation into his conduct. Upon his return, the network said that it had completed the investigation, which began after Ms. Hughes took her allegations to the network in late June.

Mr. Payne’s lawyer, Jonathan N. Halpern, said in a statement on Monday that his client ”vehemently denies any wrongdoing and will defend himself vigorously against this baseless complaint.”

“We are confident that when the evidence is presented in this case,” he continued, “Mr. Payne will be fully vindicated and these outrageous accusations against him will be confirmed as completely false.”

In her lawsuit, Ms. Hughes said that Mr. Payne had “pressured” his way into her hotel room in July 2013 and coerced her to have sexual intercourse with him, even though she had refused his advances by telling him “no” and “stop.”

Hughes claims that she felt pressured to continue a sexual relationship with Payne for two years during which he promised that he would secure for her a  contract with Fox, but that never happened.

Instead Hughes claims she ended the relationship and reported Payne to the Fox News brass, after which she says they blacklisted her.

“In July of 2013, I was raped by Charles Payne,” Ms. Hughes said in an interview, referring to the allegations in her lawsuit. “In July of 2017, I was raped again by Fox News. Since then, I have been living an absolute hell.”

I have a problem with this in that while I am completely aware that Fox News has an atmosphere which seems to promote and cover for sexual harassment, this went on for two years and it appears that this Hughes woman only reported it to HR after Payne did not deliver on the career opportunities that he promised.

It does not really seem to help her case in that she seems to have willingly continued the relationship and only put the brakes on when he failed to deliver on his side of the bargain.

Breach of contract? Yeah, I'll accept that.

Rape? No. Rape is not 'pressure'. It is the forceful taking of another's power.

After reading this story, Sarah has decided to sue Glen Rice, University of Michigan and the NBA for 100 million dollars.

She will claim Glen Rice raped her in her sister's dorm room.

"I don’t even ask, said the future president. I just kiss. He added that he also would “grab them by the pussy.” “When you’re a star, they let you do it.”
He later dismissed it as “locker room talk.”The women accusing him of sexual assault were liars who were going to get sued, he said. The only place Donald Trump sexually assaults women was, apparently, in his imagination."
" The lawsuit alleges that Trump defamed her by calling her a liar after she came forward with allegations that he groped her. If the lawsuit were to proceed, it would likely prove embarrassing to Trump, as the case could go into discovery and the president could be compelled to testify."
"In an amicus brief filed today in New York, the group claims that Zervos does have standing to sue Trump, just as Paula Jones had standing to sue then-President Bill Clinton. In that 1997 case, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that because Paula Jones was suing then-President Bill Clinton over conduct that wasn’t part of his official duties and that occurred during a time that he was not president, she could sue him in federal court. Because the law applies to the president, tOO."law professors Stephen B. Burbank, Richard D. Parker, and Lucas A. Powe Jr. were among the authors of a similar brief filed in regard to Bill Clinton’s legal standing to be sued by Paula Jones in federal court, 20 years ago.
The brief doesn’t take a position on whether the Zervos claim has merit; its authors are more concerned with establishing that the president can’t use “But I’m the president!” as an excuse to make issues like this just go away. “[B]y permitting injured parties to seek redress from a President under appropriate circumstances,” the brief reads, “state courts reinforce a bedrock constitutional principle: that in this nation, no one is above the LAW”

Fox News harbored a hostile environment to all woman who worked there and this went on for YEARS. Don't be so quick to put this woman down until all the facts are presented. I'm not making a snap judgment, which is based on a few paragraphs in a news article.

no 6:24 AM, it's called prostitution. U know when you trade sex on the basis of the hopes of financial gain. Kinda like Palin.

There's a difference between rape and trading sex for money. And a term for those who practice the latter.

It sounds like she was pressured into sex and kept at it to get a job. I think it has been happening in Hollywood for decades. Nothing new but still pathetic.

That doesn't sound like rape. I thought rape is when you are forced to have sex against your will. I feel for her but it not rape if she doesn't receive his part of the bargain for sex.

Sounds like she is a prostitute? She gave up sex for a leg up (no pun intended). I hate what happened to her but rape is not the correct word.

Women are raped everyday by their husbands and boyfriends, yet they still stay with them after the rape has occurred. Are they able to try and prosecute these men afterwards? Thankfully the answer is yes.

This is one article and the way it is written it doesn't look good for her. However, if there was a rape then this guy needs to be prosecuted. Was there other physical violence? We don't know that yet. This is the same M.O. that Bill Cosby used on many of his victims - promising them help with their careers.

    A prostitute? No way.

I am raped several times a year.

I know I married my baby's daddy for better or worse and I do have consensual marital sex with him several times a year but all I got from him was "worse" sex, not "better" sex. He aint delivering his part of the bargain.

    Is that considered rape?

I ended up getting a sex buddy but Curt died so I got another sex buddy but Brad only hit it and quit.

Thank you, Unsatisfied Lou from Alaska

OT?"“The musicians were brought out, tied up, hooded and apparently gagged, so they could not make a noise, not beg for mercy or even scream,” Hee Yeon explained. “They were lashed to the end of anti-aircraft guns.”

“A gun was fired, the noise was deafening, absolutely terrifying and the guns were fired one after the other,” she said. “The musicians just disappeared each time the guns were fired into them. Their bodies were blown to bits, totally destroyed, blood and bits flying everywhere.”

“And then after that military tanks moved in and they ran over the bits,” Hee Yeon added, explaining that the tanks ran over the remains over and over again to “grind the remains, to smash them into the ground until there was nothing left.”

What she saw made her sick to her stomach.

“There were around 10,000 people ordered to watch that day and I was standing 200 feet from these victims,” she told reporters."
" “The regime killed hundreds of people, including officials, their friends, their families, and even children with heavy machine guns,”"“Officials came to our schools and picked out teenage girls to work at one of his ‘hundreds’ of homes around Pyongyang,” Hee Yeon said. “They take the prettiest and ensure they have straight, good legs.”

Leaving aside the initial rape allegation, sounds more like a business dispute - somebody didn't pay their bill for services rendered. and those services were what sex prostitutes supply. Which makes SNH____________?
