Fox News features a fake Navy Seal in a story supporting Donald Trump.

Courtesy of WaPo:

Fox News ran a story on Oct. 8 about a decorated Vietnam War Navy SEAL and glass artist who created an enormous presidential glass seal he hoped to give to President Trump. On Thursday, 11 days later, the network retracted the story after being told the Trump supporter never served in the SEALs or in Vietnam, much less earned commendations for his service.

In the segment, John Garafalo said he served in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy SEAL team. Fox News reported that he also received two Purple Hearts and about two dozen other medals for his service.

The man’s claimed record turned out to be a fabrication. It was first discovered by former Navy SEALs. Both these SEALs and family members of Garofalo contacted Fox News about the story, according to the Navy Times.

Don Shipley, a retired SEAL, told the Navy Times that he contacted Fox on Oct. 9, the day after the story ran.

But the story was still on the news outlet’s Facebook page on Oct. 19. By then it had amassed 1.5 million views.

Fox News eventually published a correction but of course was after a million people had been fooled by their story.

What a crackerjack team of researchers they employee at Fox News.

Now this same thing could of course happen to other cable news outlets like MSNBC or CNN, after all they have to present 24 hours of news each day.

However Fox News has a particular problem with the folks they present as experts, intelligence officials, or even actual journalists.

You know it's almost as if they care less about a person's credentials and more about whether or not they are willing to support the station's ideology and spout their talking points.

Or an I just being cynical?

Fox uses all types of fakery and they make no exceptions for the infamous. Just lying about what you did in a war is cool at Fox, as long as the military will back up your lies.

Sarah P has a Navy Seal in the family, extended family. It might be Track Palin's family on his father's side or one of his wives. The Palin's Navy Seal was Vietnam era.

He would not be like Don Shipley, the retired SEAL who spoke up about a fraud.

Sarah's relation is like all the Palins and part of the cover up for Track.

He would know about Dakota Meyer also, too. None of them are about to tell any truth about the family scams and secrets.

His honor could have been in being a skilled glass artist. Too bad he got confused and threw any honor away by lying for for an undeserving buffoon.

Undeserving buffoons lie for undeserving buffoons. They see their-self in the lies. It is a fierce and uncontrollable magnetic attraction.

Shouldn't Garafalo be charged with violating the Stolen Valor Act.

@5:08 The second I read "give him a medal"
      I pictured this Statesman>
"April 22, 1971, Kerry appeared before a U.S. Senate committee hearing on proposals relating to ending the war. The day after this testimony, Kerry participated in a demonstration with thousands of other veterans in which he and other Vietnam War veterans threw their medals and service ribbons over a fence erected at the front steps of the United States Capitol building to dramatize their opposition to the war. Jack Smith, a Marine, read a statement explaining why the veterans were returning their military awards to the government. For more than two hours, almost 1000 angry veterans tossed their medals, ribbons, hats, jackets, and military papers over the fence. Each veteran gave his or her name, hometown, branch of service and a statement. Kerry threw some of his own decorations and awards as well as some given to him by other veterans to throw. As Kerry threw his decorations over the fence, his statement was: "I'm not doing this for any violent reasons, but for peace and justice, and to try and make this country wake up once and for all."

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Kerry

"How do you ask a man to be the last man to die in Vietnam? How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?
I saw courage both in the Vietnam War and in the struggle to stop it. I learned that patriotism includes protest, not just military service."

"Being lectured by the president on fiscal responsibility is a little bit like Tony Soprano talking to me about law and order in this country."

The Vietnam war isn't over yet. It was a disgrace. Anyone with a brain would know how sick and shallow the medals are. Now we have more pitiful medal recipients. Ones that had to lie and make up bull because their fight in Afghanistan was not enough.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – “Fire them! Fire them all!” raved Gen. James Amos, foaming at the mouth as he was escorted to a waiting police cruiser in a straitjacket late Friday. Amos is en route to a high security psychiatric facility following a firing spree during which he attempted to relieve the entire United States Marine Corps. https://www.duffelblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Firingspree.png

That fox network of liars and idiots must be removed from the airwaves with FCC complaints. It really is a terrible terrible crime to have taken the remaining days of old people and confused them with this distorted hateful evil crime of treason.

Our innocent older friends and family began watching or listening to rush limpballs, glen beck 20+ years ago. Freaks like them and bannon, fox owners and staff have been brewing distortion and hate for years. Many people brainwashed by them with their twisted liar views. The likes of fox, rush, bannon and trump should be held accountable and liable for damages caused by their promotion of treason and the distorted facts to innocent usa citizens.... Free Speech it not freedom to lie.

A granny-in-law was dying of lung cancer. I would visit her in the old folks home. She could talk about nothing for more than 30-60 sec but she wanted a cigarette. Complained because she was only allowed like 5 puffs a day. The old timer Fox Friends are same. They are stuck and lord knows what can be done about their condition. No one like Fox or conservatives want to be accountable for what they do. They are like the tobacco industry.

Of course Fox didn't take down their fake news; the point is to get the lie out there and keep repeating it, so when they're finally forced to post a correction, the brainwashed will bleat, "That's fake news! It really happened!"

Fake News! Benghazi! Crooked Hillary! Wacky Congresswoman! Trump too busy calling out everyone else but his favored TV news network. Rush Limpballs complains about the Democrat sore losers causing many to question Cheeto's mental health in light of his erratic behavior. Trump fans do not want to believe anything negative about their president. When will they wake up - if ever? Certainly they won't if they continue to watch FAUX News.
