Nearly half of those surveyed think that the media fabricates negative stories about Donald Trump.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Nearly half of voters surveyed in a new poll think the media make up stories about President Trump and his administration.

A Politico/Morning Consult poll finds 46 percent of voters think the media fabricate reports about Trump and his administration.

Only 37 percent of voters disagree and another 17 percent are undecided, according to the poll.

The percentage of Republican voters who think the media make up stories about Trump is even higher.

Seventy-six percent of Republicans think the media fabricate stories about Trump and his administration. About 20 percent of Democrats think the media make up stories, but 65 percent of Democrats disagree.

And there lies the problem.

What good is a free and open media if people have been conditioned to believe they are posting fake news stories designed to hurt their leader?

I used to really think that more access to more media outlets would only better reveal the truth.

Boy was I naive.

We are toast. He's done it -- Made the Free Press impotent. What the hell can be done now? The most depressing post you've ever had. How dumb can Americans be? MUCH dumber than I thought. Shit.

Why are citizens from other countries more aware of the truth than Americans? Fear and ignorance seems to have taken hold and good old common sense has been abandoned by those who support Trump. If current conditions continue, the future of your country is looking pretty bleak.

Anon at 7:51 am. Non-Americans have a better sense of history, certainly of the events of the 20th century, than most Americans. Our European friends are horrified of the rise of the extreme right in their countries and terribly dismayed by what the 2016 election has brought about in our country. It would help if American schools still taught history. You know, the boring kind, with dates and maps and facts.

The FCC has failed. The detection and removal of the hate promoting breeding grounds in all forms of communications has failed. The FCC allowed defective electronics into this country that advanced hacking into our infrastructure, communications, it caused interference in our china made electronics and banking, in social programs, it was used and developed to attack us directly and our citizens and country. It is inexcusable!!!! The Republicans denied funding to improve our infrastructure and security over 8 yrs ago. I hold the entire republican party of dotards, their gop rnc committee, voters and leaders accountable and responsible for the damages and outcome today. Get the bums out and charge them with treason.

What I don't understand is, how is reporting Trump's exact words "fake news"?

Oh, that's right, he never said it. And he has proof, believe him! Many people are saying so.

Mr. President is this fake news? Stop toying with Gold Star families.

In another development, the widow of another fallen solider told CNN that she had been told to stick close to the phone soon after her husband was killed and to expect a call from the President, but he never called.

"I don't like that I was told I would receive the phone call but I never did," the woman, Whitney Hunter, told CNN's Brianna Keilar in a poignant interview.

Since Trump did his habitual stating untruthful extreme negatives about past presidents to establish he contacts Gold Star family and other presidents did not the media and some others responded with truth. Since then the media investigated seeking truth.
Trump punched back as he does when his lies about people are exposed. Trump lies again making the situation far worse spinning a tangled web the media se is to unravel.

I predict that if the proposed tax plan passes that when the majority of the country does not receive “a massive tax cut” Trump will convince them someone else is all at fault and was against them having more wealth. There is no forwarding most people anymore.

The poll demonstrates we are at a point of no return

Yesterday I considered posting my hypothetical theory that Trump repeating his lie that all news/media is fake that people have been manipulated to only believe what he tweets and to disregard previously respected news sources and trusted reporters.

I have observed on a much smaller scale a habitual liar manipulate people to not believe anyone and they would not even fact check or be open to looking at facts presented to them. This was also achieved by instilling fear that the assigned “liars” (everyone literally except the con man) were out to harm, deprive, tak advantage of them which was exactly what the con man’s behavior was. Manipulating fear and even threat to one’s life is a powerful tactic of seeking to control people and an abuse tactic. Eventually people cease to pay any attention to communication from anyone but the con man.

Recently a friend told me she and her husband watch the news although she knows it is all fake but she watches to know what is being made up by the news.

Depending on how the question was asked, I probably would have said, yes, that the media is fabricating news about Donnie Dotard. Now, not all media, but the conservative media is fabricating positive stories about Dotard. How you phrase a question is so critical to the responses you get.

I would say that it's not a matter of "seeming like." Trump and the GOP are out to hurt the American middle class and to destroy all those struggling to survive below them on the ecumenic ladder. The only people who matter to Trump and the GOP are the wealthiest among us.

I think Donald's tweets and his image and voice on tv on a daily basis is evidence enough that he speaks for himself. He lies, cheats, and probably steals.
The Americans that believe news is fake have been brainwashed. It's like those crazy people online that say Sandy Hook and other gun incidents are fabrication. I keep speaking to the fact that American's are mental due to their nutrition or lack thereof. We all need to eat some fruit and calm the hell down. Donald, that means you. Stop drinking cokes, and eating fast food.

How come they never call me? I wonder why! Haha! They only call Republicans for their polls, specifically ones they already know support Trump.

Do not believe 'their' polls America! The majority do not support Donald Trump and his hand-picked folks that surround him (to include his family members!).

They are trying so hard to change his image to our country and world.

Well, no one polled me or anyone I know or am related to. If you poll stupid people only, you get stupid results. Also, as we all know, the slanting of a survey depends heavily on how the questions are phrased. So, I pay little attention to surveys that are sympathetic to Trump.

We just came home (yesterday) from a month-long trip to Paris where we saw our best friends from France, Germany and Denmark. Nary a person among them has a good word to say for Trump. They worry about the impact his administration is having on the whole world.
