Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Presidents comforting people in their time of need.
And then we have the rigger dotard drumpf the so called business man with short fingers. And according to the Secretary of State is a "Moron" wow. America aint feeling to great! Elect that mayor to the congress, America needs a wise loud voice.
No. That's his "go to" phrase, like see you later or we'll talk. It's a meaningless, thoughtless dismissal and moving on. I'm sure he doesn't even realize he's saying it or that it's inappropriate.

Turns Out Trump Spent His Puerto Rico Trip "Helping" in the Wealthy Suburbs
He was more tone-deaf in Puerto Rico than you probably thought.
Donald Trump's trip to Puerto Rico probably didn't go as smoothly as his handlers would have liked. He demanded praise, complained that relief efforts were really pulling a doozy on the federal budget, and headed for a photo op of him handing out supplies. It should have been a smooth, simple way to counter the charges that he didn't care about Puerto Rico or see Puerto Ricans as people worth saving (or, you know, U.S. citizens). But he even bungled this, chucking paper towel rolls into the crowd like they were party favors.
But in a story out Wednesday, the Washington Post highlighted just how much the president's trip misrepresented the scale of the disaster. He stayed mostly in Guaybano, a wealthy suburb of San Juan that's much, much farther along recovery-wise than other parts of the island. (By contrast, the town of Caguas, 10 miles southeast of Guaybano, saw 1200 houses flattened by the Hurricane Maria.) And the church Trump went to, a favorite of conservatives who've relocated from the mainland U.S., was already well stocked with relief supplies.
The real cringe-worthy moment came when Trump spoke with a local volunteer:

ReplyDeleteThe paper towel throwing moment will be iconic.
ReplyDeleteI read a comment from a different point of view that Trump wanted to cheer people up. Is that why he says "Have a good time."?

DeleteTrump is a famous germ o' phobe. Which makes the throwing of paper towels even more telling. Surprised he didn't lob bottles of purell.

Most Americans would run in the opposite direction were Trump to hug them and he knows it!
ReplyDeleteHowever, would love the comfort of a hug from President Obama and First Lady Michelle!
