Steven Bannon tells audience of California Republicans that "There has not been a more destructive presidency than George Bush's."

Courtesy of The Guardian:

Steve Bannon has depicted former President George W Bush as bumbling and inept, faulting him for presiding over a “destructive” presidency during his time in the White House.

The former White House adviser delivered a retort to a speech Bush gave in New York during the week in which the 43rd president denounced bigotry in Trump-era American politics and warned that the rise of “nativism”, isolationism and conspiracy theories have clouded the nation’s true identity.

Bannon, speaking to a capacity crowd at a California Republican party convention on Friday night, said Bush had embarrassed himself, didn’t know what he was talking about, and had no idea whether “he is coming or going, just like it was when he was president”.

“There has not been a more destructive presidency than George Bush’s,” Bannon added, as boos could be heard in the crowd at the mention of Bush’s name.

Well here's the thing.

I USED to be in total agreement with that last statement, but that was before Bannon's bromantic partner Donald Trump took office.

I mean as of yet Trump has not started an unnecessary war that killed hundreds of thousands, or even millions of people, that's true.

Nor has he crashed the economy. Yet.

But I have high hopes that he will soon do FAR more damage than George Bush managed to do even after eight years in office.

And by "high hopes" I mean I live in abject fear of what he might do next.

Besides let's be clear, Bannon is not attacking George Bush for what he did during his presidency.

He is attacking George Bush for daring to criticize his his former boss, and White House slumber party partner.

      "Business career of Bush #1
"After graduating from Yale, Bush moved his young family to West Texas. His father's business connections proved useful as he ventured into the OIL business, starting as an OIL field equipment salesman[14] for Dresser Industries, a subsidiary of Brown Brothers Harriman (where Prescott Bush had served on the board of directors for 22 years).[15] While working for Dresser, Bush lived in various places with his family: Odessa, Texas; Ventura, Bakersfield and Compton, California; and Midland, Texas.[16] (According to eldest son George W. Bush, then age two, the family lived in one of the few duplexes in Odessa with an indoor bathroom, which they "shared with a couple of hOOkers".)[17] Bush started the Bush-Overbey OIL Development company in 1951 and in 1953 co-founded the Zapata Petroleum Corporation, an oil company that drilled in the Permian Basin in Texas.[18] In 1954 he was named president of the Zapata Offshore Company, a subsidiary which specialized in offshore drilling.

In 1959, shortly after the subsidiary became independent, Bush moved the company and his family from Midland to Houston.[19] He continued serving as president of the company until 1964, and later chairman until 1966, but his ambitions turned political.[15] By that time, Bush had become a millionaire.[20] According to Time.com, Bush had a net worth of
      $20 million in 2015" {$o Declared}

Chad supplied the dots that Maddow has connected. In late September Chad began withdrawing its troops from Niger. Reuters reported that
"[T[he move came a month after the vast central African country complained about an unexpected U.S. travel ban imposed on its nationals. Chad warned at the time the order could affect its security commitments - which include its involvement in the U.S.-backed fight against Boko Haram."
At its peak in 2016 Chad had 2,000 troops in Niger to help counter Boko Haram.
The Trump administration drove away a partner in our fight against ISIS and its African branch, Boko Haram. The French-trained Chad troops were an invaluable fighting force and now they've left because Trump insulted a long-time ally.
This is what is lost on the Trump c*** holsters at Fox & Friends. Open wide, Hegseth and Huntsman!

I was wondering when they'd start going after Rachel Maddow who has an outstanding show (Cable/MSNBC - Monday through Friday)! No one should miss her because she's educational, factual and honest about her reports/journalism.

Plus, she has the highest viewership and it's driving FOX folks nuts. She's far better than Hannity and they've put him up against her (when her show 'repeats' even later in the evening).

George Bush at least had a sense of humor and smiles easily.

The Trumpster is just plain weird as to his personality! There is NOTHING charming or enticing about him! Pure evilness is all that oozes out of his pores!

And, he is not representing the majority of Americans! Impeachment is the only answer for him!

The timing and location of Bannon’s speech is essential to understanding what’s at play here. Bannon was speaking before the GOP in California — a state where they’re a minority party and face long odds in local and statewide office, as well as in their ability to deliver electoral college votes to the Republican candidate for the presidency. And he was arguing that that in order to succeed, they need to buck the establishment and embrace the rebellion that he and Trump began in 2016.

“We have a problem with understanding how to win. Nothing else matters,” Bannon said.

He reportedly received a standing ovation when he finished his speech.

I hate to admit it but Bannon is correct George W is the reason we had 9-11 happen he caused the massive increase in our Defense budget he caused and supported Homeland Security becoming a new and one of the largest agencies in government and also the reason you have to take your shoes off & get searched to get on an airplane. Dubya caused one of the biggest debts our nation has, and he got the 'lets give the rich as much money as we can' attitude going in our current administration. Bannon is a Bad Guy no doubt about it but he also is right.

Where does the hates Americans thing enter into what Bannon said? Maybe I missed something in that clip at the beginning of this post. The Bush family is just as willing to take advantage of Americans as we know Trump is, but that is different than hating.
