Trump supporter and online troll kills father for calling him a Nazi.

Lane Davis
Courtesy of the Daily Beast:

Lane had spent that Friday morning as he did most mornings, on the internet. This day, like the others, Lane read and retweeted posts celebrating the Second Amendment, bemoaning diversity, and spreading conspiracy theories that alleged Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta was involved in a child sex ring and DNC staffer Seth Rich had been murdered. It was the end of a busy week during which he contributed to the Donald Trump subreddit, and over on The Ralph Retort, a fringe blog where he worked as a political editor, (unpaid, according to the site’s owner), he had celebrated the idea of a Kid Rock Senate run, claimed America was under threat of Sharia law, and wondered whether CNN was “literally ISIS.”

Lane’s parents, Catherine and Charles Davis—Charles was known as Chuck to his friends—were used to their 33-year-old son’s outbursts. They had become so frequent that Charles had started recording the tirades on his phone. But that afternoon, they were tired of Lane’s screaming, wanted him to leave, and told him as much. Instead, Lane chased his parents around their home, spitting in his father’s face while screaming that he wasn’t threatening to kill them, but “pedophiles who were taking over the country.”

The Daily Beast has a copy of the 911 call and on it Lane Davis can be heard becoming increasingly upset that his mother called the police, calling them Leftists and pedophiles, and then he makes this chilling remark:

“OK well, so here’s the deal. If I am going to go to prison for threatening to kill somebody, I mean...”

“Leave the knife alone,” Charles says while his mother tries to reassure him: No one wants to send him to prison, they just want some help.

Lane doesn’t seem to hear or believe his mother. “So, you are going to send me to prison?” he asks. “My life is over.”

Minutes later the mother can be heard shouting "He stabbed him," and "He's dead, he's dead, he's dead."

For his part Lane Davis just stood outside with his hands in the air and waited for the police to arrive, while his 73 year old father was lying dead on the back deck.

You know we often talk about how Donald Trump empowers the racists in this country.

But there are other folks who feel that he gives them a voice as well.

The mentally ill for instance.

You see the problem with having somebody who clearly suffers from a mental illness in the White House is that it empowers and excites other mentally ill people into thinking that their time has finally come, and that there cannot be anything wrong with them since someone with similarly erratic and anti-social behaviors as their own is now sitting in the most powerful position in the country.

This is not just finding a like minded group on the internet who support the idea of going off of your psychotropic medications, or think that homicidal or suicidal thoughts are perfectly normal.

No this is much, much bigger.

Clearly this kid was sick, and he desperately needed a mental health evaluation.

But with his current mindset how could he ever accept that there was anything wrong with the way he thinks?

How do you convince an individual with serious mental health problems to seek help, when they see Donald Trump on TV every day walking around freely while seemingly well adjusted people run around doing damage control for him and working to keep him in power?

A 30 something year old, living in mommy's and daddy's basement, on the computer all the time and a dump lover. Who could have possibly seen any warning signs in that situation? My sympathies to the lady who lost her husband. Maybe she should have lost the man kid a long time ago.

All of these issues were on dramatic display in the earlier conversation about Gabby Giffords and Sarah Palin, although the loonies of the right would've sooner died than admit it. There is a huge continuum of mental illness out there, ranging from the gravely ill schizophrenics who can barely get through a day all the way to people who are functional, but not firing on all cylinders. A great many of these folks are inclined towards paranoia and/or delusions of grandeur and/or a persecution complex. The hateful, divisive rhetoric of Palin, tRump and their ilk fuels these inclinations, big time. Jacka$$es love to shriek, oh, it wasn't the rhetoric, it's mental illness -- at least they do when the individual in question is white. It's one more bit of utterly reprehensible hypocrisy from these sh*theads. Nobody lives in a bubble world, not even the severely (or "mildly" mentally ill -- aka, the rock-solid core of the Palin/tRump base.

Yesterday when Jeff Flake announced his soon to be retirement he said something about the spell being broken eventually.
I think what it is, is a cult. All of Trump supporters are what they call peer oriented and cannot think for themselves. This peer oriented mentality has been a bane to the educational system here in America for quiet some time. Donald's supporter are of that mentality. They haven't matured and learned to adapt and therefore are drawn to the biggest attachment disorder bully who is the president of the United States. And what the GOP amounts to are boys in the highschool wing that kowtow to the hallway bully. Plain and simple.
This person who killed his father seems to be mentally ill, but the others who follow Trump in the blind love are cult followers. As were Hitler's followers. And Jim Jones. I mean Trump could tell his followers tomorrow to drink poison kool aid and they will.

    2. Trump was right about not losing votes if he murdered someone on 5th Ave.

I’m not sure why he’s so scared of the PeePee tape being uncovered. Al lhe has to do is say it’s fake news, not him, it’s a body double and Clinton and the Democrats manufactured the tape to smear him. It’s all a big conspiracy.

And his loony tunes cult followers will swallow it. Along with any other Koolaid he asks them to drink.

No matter how many apples Mueller exposes in that basket, the Deplorables will only see a bunch of bananas if that’s what Trump tells them is there.

The parents obviously enabled him if he was this messed up and still living at home unemployed. The mother should be ashamed for not stepping up and intervening in his obvious mental illness and getting him the help he obviously needs. Perhaps she will now.

This situation is so easy to solve from your safe arm chair. Obviously you have never been in the situation of having a mentally ill adult child. We have no idea what these poor parents might have tried. There is really not much you can do for your mentally ill adult child. If they had booted him out of the home, he could still have come back and killed them. It happens far too often.

I think the police can be called and an ambulance will take the person who is a danger to others to a psychiatric hospital or the ER for evaluation to admit the person.

When Trump says anything that will rile up the anger and hate even encouraging violence that condones
physical violence and scapegoating. Trump might say this murderer one of the fine people. Words have consequences but Trump loves the power he gains.

The fact he didn't have a gun leads me to believe he had been diagnosed as mentally ill.

542p: Right. An individual who is deemed a danger to self or others can be held against their will ("5150-ed") for 3 whole days. After that a hold might be extended for 14 whole days. There is essentially no long-term hospitalization left in this country for people who suffer from serious mental illness, unless an individual gets caught up in the criminal justice system and lands in a state hospital. Basically a person has to actually commit a crime before any real help is available, and even the system is broken in so many ways.

And you can thank Saint Ronnie for that. That’s why so many of our mentally ill are untreated and homeless. He turned them all out on to the streets to save a buck and they’ve been there ever since. Invisible and forgotten.

@5:42, I’ve read about too many mentally ill people shot and killed by police who had been called by parents who just wanted to get help for their adult child. Police are NOT trained to deal with the mentally ill. Call police and risk your child being killed. Don’t call them, and risk being killed. It’s a fucked up decision either way.

Thanks To Trump Your Health Insurance Premiums Are Going Up By 34% Next Year

If you or your employer gets your health insurance on the exchange, thanks to Donald Trump, your premiums are going to go up by 34% in 2018.

    The AP reported:

The analysis of newly released government data by the consulting firm Avalere Health found that the Trump administration’s actions are contributing to the price hikes, adding instability to the underlying problems of the health law’s marketplaces.

The 34 percent average increase is for silver plans in states using HealthCare.gov. Premiums also are going up by double digits for plans with different levels of coverage, including bronze (18 percent), gold (16 percent), and platinum (24 percent).

Trump’s Approval Rating Hits New Low In Fox Poll As White Men Flee Him In Droves

It's one thing for Donald Trump's approval rating to be so low in a Fox News poll. It's a whole new level of embarrassment for the president that his so-called base is the reason behind it.

After being caught red handed, Donald Trump throws Cambridge Analytica under Trump-Russia bus

Trump campaign issues statement downplaying Cambridge Analytica‘s role working for campaign, doesn’t address Assange/emails

    https://twitter.com/rebeccaballhaus/status/923285982916595712

...This morning’s revelation from the Daily Beast is astounding. It finally confirms what has long been widely suspected about Cambridge Analytica: rather than being magically talented at collecting and analyzing voter data, it was willing to work with thieves and thugs in the name of cheating its way to success (link). In response, Trump’s people released a statement distancing the Trump campaign from Cambridge Analytica.

Trump and his campaign are now suddenly claiming that the Republican National Committee handled its voter data analysis, and “any claims that voter data from any other source played a key role in the victory are false.” (link). This statement, of course, is a joke. Cambridge Analytica ran the Trump campaign’s voter data analysis operation from top to bottom. It operated out of the Trump campaign’s own offices. It was previously run by Steve Bannon, who then took over the Trump campaign. The company is funded by the Mercers, the same father and daughter billionaire team who largely funded the entire Trump campaign. Jared Kushner even insisted during a Forbes interview this summer that Cambridge Analytica got Trump elected.

Yet now that Cambridge Analytica has been caught red handed, Donald Trump is suddenly insisting that the company had nothing to do with his campaign.

The Senate Judiciary Committee’s Russia Probe Just Blew Up

Republicans and Democrats are now pursuing their own investigations.

    http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/10/the-senate-judiciary-committees-russia-probe-just-blew-up/

Did the Russians finally get to Chuck Grassley?

For months I’ve been giving credit where it’s due to Republican Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley. He had been consistently signing off on anything the Democrats on his committee wanted to investigate when it came to Donald Trump’s Russia scandal. But now something has, suddenly and fundamentally, changed. In fact Grassley has flipped so profoundly to the dark side that it’s enough to seriously question whether the Russians may have gotten to him.

How Republicans Are Jumping on the New Steele Scoop to Distract From the Trump-Russia Scandal

...So you see what’s happening? Republicans are asserting the Steele memos should be dismissed because they are a dastardly Democratic oppo concoction and saying this somehow undermines the whole Trump-Russia scandal. Yet at the same time, they are demanding an investigation of the fake Clinton-uranium scandal that was based on a debunked story subsidized and promoted by a big-money conservative donor and Trump backer.

At the heart of all this is a simple and troubling fact: Most Republicans don’t seem to give a damn about the Russian assault on the 2016 election and the profound implications of that act of information warfare.
