I left today's Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.— Vice President Pence (@VP) October 8, 2017
Pence thought this was so important that it warranted an official statement. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I don't think it's too much to ask NFL players to respect the Flag and our National Anthem— Vice President Pence (@VP) October 8, 2017
Drama queen.I stand with @POTUS Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and our National Anthem. pic.twitter.com/B0zP5M41MQ— Vice President Pence (@VP) October 8, 2017
I imagine that Pence thought this was somehow going to be his shining moment, when he demonstrated his independence and took a stand for America.
But Trump can't allow that, now can he?
So much for being your own man there Mikey, now the whole world knows that you are just Trump's tiny yapping little lapdog.I asked @VP Pence to leave stadium if any players kneeled, disrespecting our country. I am proud of him and @SecondLady Karen.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 8, 2017
Update: And yes this was all premeditated:
Maybe you agree with Trump and Pence and believe kneeling during the anthem is an affront to the country. Or maybe you side with the players’ workplace-granted right to protest. Or perhaps you just don’t care (the third group is arguably the largest here).
No matter what, this was almost certainly a predetermined attempt to gain political points by stirring up an issue that, once again, had begun to die down. Pence even quickly released a statement expressing his outrage.
Trump and Pence believe these tactics work with their ever shrinking base, and that is really the only people they care about.
Update 2:
Yeah screw the taxpayers, Trump and Pence have a base to pander to.Pence's stunt likely cost more than $250,000 at minimum. https://t.co/Y9E9LqvhPG— Daniel Dale (@ddale8) October 8, 2017
It was staged Pence had no intention of staying.

ReplyDelete"In a tweet on Sunday, NBC’s Peter Alexander reported that Pence’s press pool was ordered to wait outside the game because the vice president had planned to leave early."

Mike Pence’s NFL Game Walk Out Was A Pre-Planned Staged Fake Protest

Trump Throws A Tantrum And Takes Credit For Mike Pence Leaving An NFL Game

Look like - Pence is The RUmp's stooge. That initial campaign logo was just a Freudian slip. Mike will never have dinner with another woman alone - but I bet he dreams of sharing late night taco bowls with his dom quite often.
DeleteI wonder if Mother knew..I mean, she was all decked out in that stupid jersey. Was she conned with the rest of the GOP voters? If so, she needs to speak up. And if not, she's as big a jerk as her husband.

I had a family member say that they were going to quit watching the NFL due to the kneeling. I said then you are making a statement as those that kneel. OK. So then I turned to the other person and said, do you like to watch football? Then watch it. And to those on both sides of the coin? enough. At this point everyone is at risk from this group of wackos.
ReplyDelete"I will not dignify any event that..."
ReplyDelete- Pompous Asshole
Can you believe they would drag the VP's wife into their reality TV production? Sickos!
DeleteHe could have stopped right there - Mike Pence never dignified anything. Likley not even his own funeral.
DeleteHe won't tolerate anyone disrespecting the flad yet the Vice President of the USA just walked out during the National Anthem? How disrespectful was that? Why should anyone else respect it when even the VP won't. Hypocrite.
ReplyDeleteKneeling is a positon of respect, albeit a different one from that commonly assumed during the playing of the National Anthem. Yet, as Anonymous 5:55 PM points out, walking out during the playing of the National Anthem is an expression of EXTREME disrespect. Could it be that Trump deliberately neglected to tell Pence to wait until the end of the Anthem before making his play? Os is Trump simply so insensitive that he didn't realize that he was getting Pence to be so disrespectful?
DeleteIn short, was Trump being a conniving bastard, or just being his usual clueless self?
Both/ and
DeletePence sounds like a real dumdum.
DeleteI can not imagine the net gain for them with this stunt. Trump must be so needy for praise to waste an outrageous amount of money and people's' time, tie up personnel. His base may repeat praise but the rest of us realize this was a bizarre, unnecessary and costly waste.
DeleteI thought the whole NFL thing was because of how minorities were treated. When did they morph it into the flag and anthem thing? Geez that was slick.
ReplyDeleteMake America White Again is how it happened. This was always their intent.
DeleteThree weekends ago Trump picked a fight with athletes via Twitter. Friday night he gave an endorsement in Alabama then made that a campaign rally for him. Trump called athletes that kneel "sons of bitches" declaring they should all be fired! The small crowd cheered wildly as Trump said the kneeling is anti America, disrespecting the military making up lies.
DeleteTrump will say anything to rile up his base and inflict harm on others.
I said $250,000 cost to taxpayers in last post. Probably closer to $500,000 considering Secret Service presence, support, security. What a waste of money. And what a waste of oxygen PenceJebus is.
ReplyDeleteTick tock. Shit's coming to a head now.

It's not okay to disrespect the flag but it's totally cool for russia to steal an election for you?
ReplyDeleteNobody is disrespecting the flag, well, except for that Pence guy.
DeleteThese stupid fools are totally missing the point?
ReplyDeleteAs an army combat veteran ,I am dumbfounded that our "leaders " are so self absorbed with their individual adolescent agendas , that they are misrepresenting our constitution and abusing their positions of trust.
Flag symbol and National anthem are meaningless with these two tyrants in positions of power.
I will also kneel to bring attention to this abuse of power.

I'm pretty sure our soldiers have fought and died for the constitution which guarantees the right to free speech and protest.
ReplyDeleteWhich is what "taking a knee" is: free speech.
This country isn't a communist country, nor a dictatorship where we civilians are FORCED to salute a flag or stand for a national anthem.
All this fooferah over these fellows kneeling in protest is proof that Republicans
DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE FREEDOMS GUARANTEED IN OUR CONSTITUTION
Take a close look at the general, in uniform, standing next to Pence while the National Anthem is played.
DeleteHe does not salute.
Not THAT is disrespect for the flag and the anthem.
Randall... do you understand the right to free speech? Nobody has been 'forced' to stand.
DeleteFree speech is a two way street, just as much as players have the right to take a knee, people have every right to object to it.
See how that works?
Do you, as you said, "UNDERSTAND THE FREEDOMS GUARANTEED IN OUR CONSTITUTION"?
@9:46>
Deletehttp://www.military.com/flag-day/rules-for-saluting-us-flag.html
``(A) individuals in uniform should give the
military salute at the first note of the anthem and
maintain that position until the last note;
``(B) members of the Armed Forces and veterans who
are present but not in uniform may render the military
salute in the manner provided for individuals in

``(C) all other persons present should face the flag
and stand at attention with their right hand over the
heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should
remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it
at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart;"
"THAT is disrespect"
Pence is just trying to ingratiate himself with Trump so he doesn't get fired knowing full well that the presidency will be his when the moron is impeached.

@8:43 hal·le·lu·jah! G.P.
DeletePence got caught with his pants down: he tweeted a picture of him and his wife at the game. Turns out, that game he attended took place in 2014.
ReplyDeleteSo, he MAYbe went to the game (and thus cost the taxpayers AT LEAST $200,000 - $45K/ hr for the flight alone, which takes about 2-3 hrs each way) but then HE LEFT DURING THE PLAYING OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM! Who is showing disrespect here for the flag and the anthem?! You don't walk out during that time!!! And THEN he flew BACK to LA for a fundraiser!
So Mother in her jersey was not yesterday? Interesting. That explains a lot. So she WAS in on the con.
DeleteHis wife actually did wear a jersey and Pence wore a suit.
DeleteI walked away when he called his wife mother.
ReplyDeleteI wasted 2.50 on a soda seeing that.
The comments from the T.Rumpkins are hilarious - can't even get their comparisons straight. Pence trips is the same as Michelle and Barack going on a date night to NYC - what? ONCE?
ReplyDeleteAnd how many weekends (almost every) did T.Rump fly to NYC or Mar a Lucre? And Melanoma stayed separately in NYC? for how many months?
Then they bring up Michele taking the girls to Aspen to ski, totally ignoring that all T.Rumps adult kids an fams went - with full Secret Service protection. And then Udai and Qusay went to the middle east for business with full protection at what cost?
What I don't remember is Biden pre-planning to go somewhere just to walk out of that somewhere in a huff (while the audience said:good riddance!! and if you can't leave in a huff, leave in a minute and a huff.)
Only question remaining is, if we stand in front of the White House and kneel when a flag is raised to the anthem - will The Rump leave the White House?
After walking out on NFL game, Mike Pence heads directly to Russian-compromised event
ReplyDeleteMike Pence is receiving a mountain of attention today – most of it negative – for having staged a walkout at an NFL football game yesterday in order to protest against the actions of black players. But in the end, where he went directly after he bailed on the game may end up proving to be more important to the unraveling of the Trump-Pence regime.
After leaving the Indianapolis Colts game, Pence got on a plane and headed straight to California, where he attended a fundraiser for Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (link). If you’re trying to place the name, Rohrabacher is the guy who has such profound allegiance to Russia that his fellow Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy once accused him behind closed doors of being on Vladimir Putin’s payroll. As controversy began to swirl around Rohrabacher this summer, he doubled down on it by meeting with fellow Russian puppet Julian Assange of WikiLeaks, and attempted to negotiate a pardon.
Rohrabacher is in so deep with Russia, and seemingly so likely to be taken down by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, that no national political figure seems to want to be associated with him. Although he’s based in a Republican-leaning district and was most recently reelected with 58% of the vote, he’s since become so radioactive that it seems likely he’ll lose to a Republican primary challenger in 2018 before he even has a chance to lose the general election. Yet Mike Pence was willing to fly all the way from Indianapolis to California just to attend a fundraiser with Rohrabacher.
If Mike Pence is innocent in Donald Trump’s Russia scandal, then logically speaking, he should want to stay as far away from Trump’s Russian liabilities like Dana Rohrabacher as possible. Was Pence merely being stupid, or is this a sign that he’s in deep in the Russia scandal after all? Time will tell. But let’s not allow the NFL game stunt to prevent the Pence-Rohrabacher connection from being further investigated.
http://www.palmerreport.com/opinion/pence-rohrabacher-nfl/5414/
If he went to a fundraiser, the money should have come from Trump's slush fund, NOT US tax dollars. Investigate!

VP Pence’s brother Ed appears deeply dependent upon Russia for some time – from 2005 as VP and General Manager of the Heavy Duty Engine Business of Cummins and starting in Feb 1, 2013 as VP and General Manager of the High Horsepower Engine Business of Cummins. Pence became Governor of Indiana in Jan. 2013. Cummins VP Pence appears the probable reason that US VP Pence ignored Congressman Cummings warnings about Flynn and Russia. It provides motive.

...Trump’s attempted distractions are so transparent that we can always count on a major Trump-Russia story hitting the newswires within the next day or two. Major news outlets call Trump’s White House for comment just before publishing such stories, which is how Trump knows they’re coming. Now that we know Trump is behind Pence’s NFL walkout stunt, it’s a safe conclusion that this is indeed one of his attempted distractions.
ReplyDeleteMoreover, Pence’s willingness to go along with such a weird stunt – which was so likely to backfire and make him look like a disingenuous idiot – strongly suggests one of two things. Either the forthcoming Trump-Russia bombshell is so massive that it threatens to take the entire administration down and Pence is willing to take one for the team, or it’s something that specifically incriminates Pence and thus motivated him to act.

Arizona Restaurant Goes Full Trump On Facebook And The Backlash They Got Is Pure GOLD
ReplyDeleteA tiny restaurant chain in Arizona has shut down its Facebook page amid backlash stemming from a rabidly pro-Trump post – and by “pro-Trump,” we mean that they didn’t just voice their support for him. They went full-bore racist and science-denying, too, which insults a large chunk of Tucson’s population. That includes the University of Arizona’s student body, to which they cater since one of their locations is just off campus. As one of the bluer areas of that deep red state, you can imagine that they weren’t happy with Cup It Up’s blatant politicizing.
The businesspeople responsible for the post seemed to think they were “making a statement.” Despite taking down their Facebook page, the Internet is forever, so there are screenshots of the offending post still floating around. Here’s what they decided it would be a good idea to say:

ReplyDeleteRepublican state Sen. Bryce Marlatt, R-Woodward, submitted his letter of resignation to Gov. Mary Fallin on Tuesday afternoon.
Marlatt, 40, was booked Tuesday morning on one felony count of sexual battery, arraigned before a judge and later released on a $5,000 bond.
A married father of four children, Marlatt was charged after the Uber driver told police he grabbed her head and kissed her neck after she picked him up from an Oklahoma City restaurant June 26.
Anderson said he had no further comment about the allegations against Marlatt.
If convicted, Marlatt faces up to 10 years in prison.
In court documents filed in the case, an Oklahoma City police detective says the driver told investigators Marlatt stumbled into her car and commented on her appearance when she picked him up from a restaurant June 26. She said during the ride, he grabbed her and kissed her neck and shoulder.
"He made a comment that if she worked for him then he would 'feel' her up," Detective Natalie Cannon wrote in an affidavit accompanying the charge. "(Marlatt) made comments to the victim asking her to go back to his hotel with him and to have a drink with him, which she declined."
Marlatt previously said he was shocked by the allegations.
Marlatt was relieved of his role as chairman of the Senate Energy Committee and vice-chairman of two other Senate panels by Senate President Pro Tempore Mike Schulz when the allegations surfaced in July.

Normal intelligent most Americans already know this. The dunce fan base doesn't know anything.
DeleteTrump just had to show who's boss by spelling out that HE asked Pence to do that. And Pence obliged him like the good lap dog that he is, biding his time until he replaces the moron.
ReplyDeleteSo, Pence *walked out on the national anthem* in a pissy fit--isn't that being SUPREMELY disrespectful?!?! Meanwhile, in Houston, a blah girl was expelled for not standing for the pledge of allegiance. Which is completely legal and ever since 1943, perfectly okay for students to do. She wasn't disruptive, she didn't storm out--she just didn't stand.
ReplyDeleteRight on,mlaiuppa. X111111111111! ;)
ReplyDeleteTrump has hijacked the purpose of the national anthem. It is to create unity. He has made it about the troops, and stupid Pence has followed along. Taking a knee is simply a way of saying not all Americans are part of the "unity." I will no longer stand for the anthem since it is being used as a loyalty expression.
