Well it's pretty easy to see why Trump did not join those five former presidents at that hurricane fundraiser last night.

Listen to that crowd.

That is the sound of overwhelming support.

Here is more courtesy of Politico:

With the American flag as a backdrop and surrounded by Texas A&M University singing cadets, all five living former presidents stood on stage together in College Station, Texas, on Saturday night to kick off a benefit concert to help raise money for hurricane victims.

President Donald Trump was not in attendance, but a video of his remarks played.

Former presidents Clinton, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Barack Obama all attended.

"All of us on this stage here tonight could not be prouder of the response of Americans," Obama said. "When they see their neighbors, and their friends, when they see strangers in need, Americans step up. And as heartbreaking as the tragedies that took place here in Texas and in Florida, in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands have been, but what we've also seen is the spirit of America at its best."

In the six weeks since the campaign began, more than $31 million has been raised from some 80,000 contributors, according to David Jones, chief executive of the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation.
There is at least one of these men who I actively despise, and two who are very close to the end of their time on earth. And yet I would gladly chose ANY of them over the traitorous POS currently residing in the people's house.

And did you hear that applause for Barack Obama?

That is the kind of enthusiasm we need to harness for the Democrat's next presidential candidate.

Well, as my sweet Momma said when Jimmy was elected President, "He would've made a good President of the Southern Baptist Convention."

The applause that Obama received was great. But I don't think I was the only one who saw the contempt/dirty looks that Bill Clinton shot at Obama.

Look of contempt I did not see. Dead eyes, I did. Sorry, Bill, if President Obama thanked Dubya and the missus then he must know more than I do! He would know.

With all due respect I didn't see contempt coming from Pres. Clinton. Perhaps dead eyes as the preceding commenter said or perhaps just old eyes.

Agree. Dead eyes? The man’s health is not great. I worry he’s ill. Of the 5, President Obama is the youngest. That certainly showed. But I didn’t detect any animosity. However for future meetings I will watch their interactions more closely. I thought they were all plenty friendly at the inauguration,

It is not any secret that the Clinton camp and Obama camp loathe each other. This has been openly known ever since Obama beat out Hillary the first go-around. It was her turn then, and he took it. Please don't tell me you all still believe in fairy tales and unicorns....?

The Clinton's don't really blame Trump for winning the Presidency... How can they? He was the opposition and won. They blame Obama for taking it away and weakening her 9 years ago when it was Hillary's turn. She could never recover.

there is bound to be bad blood among these men. they did what they did because they all hate drumpt too and came together to give him a good, hard spanking. part of drumpt punishment was to see how popular they are. as you know, he always has to be the best. Obama again up to the bat, to a standing ovation, i sure dumpt is furious.

And that, in a nutshell, is what is wrong with the Democratic Party.

It isn’t anyone’s TURN. You don’t put in your time and then get the nomination handed to you. That’s the way they think and look where it’s gotten us; President Fucking Moron.

Yeah, she is more qualified than anyone. Yes, she won the popular vote. But she couldn’t win the electoral college where it mattered.

I would have preferred Gore or Kerry to Bush but look what happened. Clinton over Trump, certainly.

But they need to stick this “turn” and “earned it” shit in the ground and bury it once and for all.

The Clinton camp is now runnning the DNC and Perez is getting rid of the Ellison supporters. That is going to lose seats in 2018 because that is not the way the people are going. They are becoming more progressive. They want what Ellison and his progressives are supporting. If Perez and the Clinton Camp want to turn a deaf ear, do it the (losing) way they’ve always done it and just assume they’ll get votes, they’re going to be sorely disappointed.

The Clintons need to move out of the way and let the progressives institute the changes needed to win elections, the changes the people want.

The DNC isn’t listening to the people and *that* is how Trump got elected.

  3. All of us HERE ON THIS STAGE.

Hope Trump takes that as a dig, whether it was intended that way or not.

Our five former presidents have had to step up and carry water for this fucking moron, one of which is in a wheelchair and another who is a cancer survivor and in his 90s.

Meanwhile President Twit is playing golf AGAIN.

    2. Oh, like we won’t find out? Will they hide from the press corps? We won’t notice the limo, air force one or a helicopter leaving the grounds? No one will report they say the president playing golf at one of his resorts?

We don’t see him LIVE at the White House, we know where the fucking moron is.

Do they really think they can get away with this?

He unsettled the middle-east and has the blood of millions on his hands.Over 258 historians said he was the 4th worst president ever and the worst in modern times. He is so toxic they coul't mention his name at the 2012 rethug convention and he has mostly stayed in hiding since 2008.But compared to twitler he seems like a great statesman.

      I was wrong.

Compared to Trump Bush is a compassionate man who tried to do a good job as president.

Not only has Trump taken “Worst President Ever” from Dubya, he has pretty much ensured he’ll keep that title forever. I honestly can’t imagine a worse president than Trump. Ever.

Bush is stupid and was emasculated by President Cheney, who was letting 9/11 happen. That's why they let Dubya go to his ranch for most of the first year he was presdient. Kept him drinking and ranchin'. Dubya was totally blindsided by 9/11 but Cheney and everyone in PNAC was not.

@4:33 "'You see, what happened to me was alcohol was becoming a love. It was beginning to crowd out my affections for most important love, if you're a dad, and that's loving your little girls. And so, fatherhood meant sobriety.'

"“You have to understand that there are decades of unresolved issues between the two,” noted the source. “In recent years, George has also been rankled by his dad’s close friendship with Bill Clinton. They bonded as they traveled the world together as ex-presidents doing humanitarian work. They had an easy, breezy relationship filled with jokes, smiles and a lot of laughs, and that always bothered ‘W’ because he never got along with his father that well.”

Thank you to Gryph n for posting the live stream link yesterday. I enjoyed much of the concert after putting my baby granddaughter to sleep. I was moved by Lady Gaga’s performance which received three standing ovations.

Obama did get the greatest amount of applause and cheers yet each president was loudly applauded by the enthusiastic crowd.

Watching Obama again I had a trauma flash recalling how Trump speaks describing everything but him in extreme disastrous terms. What a contrast of Trump, Obama the great orator and past presidents. Trump is more like a terrorizer in chief who bullies and humiliates with tweets in his own words to get people to act. AKA verbal abuse by definition.

    What fate allows --

Geo. H.W. is only four months older than Jimmy Carter.

Geo. W. is just fifteen months younger than Bill Clinton, who looks much older.

Donald Trump and Bill Clinton are two months apart in age. Bill Clinton is the picture of health compared to the morbidly obese "blond" pharisee who stole the White House.

So much for the Baby Boomers -- Clinton, Bush, and Trump. The Least-Greatest Generation.

I hear ya. I have great respect for Carter and Bush the First.

I can't stand Clinton, the serial philanderer, and I realize that Bush the Second was a useful idiot and he didn't affect my life at all so really have no opinion.

I do respect Obama, who really tried to do some good in the face of massive opposition, but I mostly respect him because he made a lot of us a LOT of money by bringing the market back, so Thanks Obama, you'll always be my favorite!
