Accused pedophile Roy Moore promises to reveal the real motivations of his supposed victims.

Courtesy of The Daily Beast:

Roy Moore on Saturday promised there would soon be “revelations” on the “motivations” of those accusing him of sexual misconduct. During a Veterans Day event in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, the Alabama Senate candidate questioned why his accusers didn’t come forward sooner and warned voters of what he described as a Democratic conspiracy against him. “To think that grown women would wait 40 years... to bring charges is absolutely unbelievable,” Moore said. “There are investigations going on. In the next few days, there will be revelations about the motivations and the content of this article,” Moore said, referring to the Washington Post story that first revealed the claims. The report cited four different women who said Moore pursued them sexually or touched them inappropriately when they were underage. The youngest accuser said she was 14 at the time of the alleged sexual misconduct. “Isn’t it strange that after 40 years of constant investigation people have waited until 4 weeks prior to the general election to bring their complaints?” Moore said Saturday. He went on to call the story “fake news” and “an attempt to divert attention from the true issues which affect our country.”

Yeah, I expect these "revelations" to be trotted out alongside Barack Obama's "real" birth certificate.

It seems these GOP assholes always have some secret evidence that proves their point or exonerates them in some way.

The Attorney for one of the accusers had this to say:

The lawyer for one of the women cited in The Washington Post's story about sexual misconduct by Senate candidate Roy Moore says it is "reprehensible that so many Alabama Republican officeholders" have rejected the evidence.

Gloria Deason told the Post she went on dates with Moore in 1979, when he was 32 and she was 18. Deason told the Post that Moore ordered her alcoholic drinks even though she was under the legal drinking age.

Deason's lawyer, Paula Cobia, has released a statement blasting Moore for "incendiary statements about the women." She says Deason stands to gain "no glory, no financial compensation, no justice."

Cobia says Deason has no affiliation with either the Republican or the Democratic party, and has never contacted Moore's election opponent, Democrat Doug Jones.

Of course this did not keep Moore's supporters from attempting to intimidate or frighten these women into backing down.
By the way the reason that women sometimes wait decades before feeling safe enough to finally go public and talk about their abuse is because of shit like that tweet.

Men did not always have Twitter to bully and intimidate their victims, but doing so is a long and well established tradition.

And that is essentially what that lawyer referenced above said after hearing this crap from Moore.

It looks like Roy Moore better start producing these "revelations" of his.

Many men would still be uncomfortable being with a woman who had slept with many more people than he had – and many men still feel comfortable referring to women as “slags” or “sluts” for indulging in behaviour that would make a man a “stud” or a “lad”.

He wasn't running for national office decades ago and didn't attract media attention in Alabama as the pedophile DA trawling for eighth-grade girls at high school football games and at the mall, and picking them up without their mothers' knowledge to transport them to his home and sexually molest them.

That said, without his obviousness behavioral disorder he probably still wouldn't have attracted the nationwide media attention that he did. Mouthing off and showing off his little pistol in public was probably what got him attention.

It was strictly he said/ she said back then. Even in cases of rape, DNA wasn't available for use in a criminal trial until 1986.

ANd let's also remember what happened to ALL women back in those days (watch The Accused with Jodie Foster, for starters.) It was what were you wearing, why were you out late at night - even if a woman had a job that required her to be out - why didn't you have someone pick you up? You're not bruised -or bruised enough - why didn't you fight back harder? (to the death is the only thing that would satisfy men of a jury about fighting hard enough.) And the moron Moore dares to ask that question? We need to look through Moore's legal files to see what he used in cases. Remember, Moore at the time was in the DAs office - what teen who wasn't well connected had a chance of winning a case?

What a sniveling, wretched excuse for a human. Now he and the men of his circle will try to rape this woman for the second time with their denial and attacks. And you wonder why women don't come forward? And for a teenage to would be hard. A teenage girl is still developing. She must have been scared. I was molested one time as a child. I never told a soul due to the fact that I already knew my father would say it was my fault for putting myself in danger, and my mother would not have said anything to protect me, she was timid of the menfolk. The end. May all such abusers roast over a spitfire in the afterlife.

    OMG.

President Donald Trump on Saturday lashed out at North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un after state-run media called him a “lunatic old man.”

North Korea also criticized Trump as a “warmonger” as the president toured Asia to drum up support against Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons program.

Trump also lashed out at the “haters and fools” who had criticized his meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin. The two spoke together during the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Vietnam.

Trump faced a backlash after saying he believed Putin, who told him that Russia did not meddle in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

    Read Trump’s tweets below:
    https://www.rawstory.com/2017/11/trump-throws-twitter-tantrum-over-russia-relations-and-kim-jong-un-calling-him-old/

...Trump faced widespread blowback, from both sides of the aisle, after essentially confirming every accusation that had ever been leveled at him with regard to Russia. But if there was a way for Trump to recover from it, what he did tonight was decidedly not it.

On Saturday evening, Trump decided to double down on his desire to buddy up to Putin. He tweeted “Met with President Putin of Russia who was at APEC meetings. Good discussions on Syria. Hope for his help to solve, along with China the dangerous North Korea crisis. Progress being made.” Regardless of the context, Trump didn’t help himself by asking Putin for “help” just hours after having aligned himself with Putin against the United States. But it was his next tweet that may have permanently sealed his demise.

Just two minutes later, Trump tweeted this: “When will all the haters and fools out there realize that having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. There always playing politics – bad for our country. I want to solve North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, terrorism, and Russia can greatly help!” That’s right, he’s calling millions Americans “haters and fools” because they criticized him for pledging his personal allegiance to Putin. Trump has been slammed today by John McCain, Tom Brokaw, you name it – and now he’s attacking them all

    https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump

    http://www.palmerreport.com/politics/trump-berserk/6019/

...Days ago, Kim Jong-Un dismissed Trump as a “lunatic old man.” It now appears that Trump has spent the past few days letting it get under his skin, particularly the dig about his age. On Saturday night, Trump posted the following completely unhinged tweet: “Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me “old,” when I would NEVER call him “short and fat?” Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend – and maybe someday that will happen!”

This is one of those tweets where we had to keep checking to make sure that there really was a blue checkmark next to it, indicating that it’s his official verified Twitter account, because this read like something a parody account might write. Nevermind that Trump is so shallow and fragile that he’s totally losing it over being called “old”

    http://www.palmerreport.com/opinion/old-kim-trump/6022/

...This doesn’t sound like a mentally competent person. Come to think of it, this doesn’t even sound like Trump. He’s not usually this far off the deep end. This is something else. This is a cry for help. This a desperate attempt, consciously or subconsciously, at getting himself immediately ousted from office.

Donald Trump's refusal to stand up to Vladimir Putin don't just signal dangerous permissiveness to Russia — it also shows North Korea that "direct attacks on [our] homeland" will go unpunished.

...The revelation that investigators are now turning their attention to what Trump knew and when is a major development in the ongoing Russia probe, which looks to be closing in on Trump and his closest allies.

This may explain why Trump is growing increasingly desperate and lashing out at anyone involved with the investigation.

In fact, on Saturday, Trump publicly sided with Putin over the collective assessment of the U.S. intelligence community, calling the Russia probe a “Democratic hit job.”

As the investigation reaches his doorstep, Trump is likely to become even more unhinged — giving investigators all the more reason to question him.

Where were their parents? Let's see, it's the South, he's a DA - do you have a clue what a hell a DA can make someone's life if they aren't well connected? In Alabamy, the legal age of consent is 16. For a poor family, an older guy "dating" their daughter is seen as a good "catch", and maybe he'd get little bro off for that speedin' ticket , too! Yes it's as horrible as it sounds, but that's the era - mom and dad would be products of their times, just as we are of ours.

How Robert Mueller Works a Case

I worked for Bob Mueller for 12 years while he was the FBI director, running counterintelligence, espionage and cybercrime investigations. What I saw recently was a classic law-enforcement response to a suspected Russian intelligence or political-influence operation. And it was classic Bob Mueller. Already, he appears to have uncovered details of a far-reaching Russian political-influence campaign.

Russian spy services use two main methods to run agents. Either they recruit people as traditional assets, where the targets know they’re working for a foreign government. Or they use unwitting agents—people targeted to exploit not just what they know, but who they know. That’s what seems to have happened here. Russian intelligence services have run political-influence operations since the beginning of time, and if you put a seasoned intelligence officer in front of a traditional, unsuspecting businessman, there’s just no match.

The Russian goal appears to have been to use members of the Trump campaign to get at the ultimate target: Donald Trump himself. If I want to spy on Trump, I don’t need or necessarily want to get directly in front of him; I will use sources, or I will use an intermediary known as a cutout. The Russian intelligence services will then dangle something the cutout wants, whether it’s sex, money, drugs or information. In this case, it was Hillary Clinton’s emails.

To uncover just how far the Russian operation got, Mueller will focus his team. He’ll go after the lower-level or lower-ranking guys like George Papadopoulos. He’ll also use the strategy of following the money. In the next weeks and months, you’ll see more indictments. You’re going to see wire fraud. You’re going to see mail fraud. You’re going to see violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act. You’re also going to see other charges. Moving money around countries to avoid taxes and criminal prosecution are the kinds of violations we saw continuously while I was working counterintelligence and espionage investigations.

Roy Moore Cast The Sole Vote In Favor Of A Man Who Raped A Four-Year-Old

...One of those convictions was first-degree sodomy of a child less than 12 years old. The other conviction was first-degree sodomy by forcible compulsion. Essentially, the first conviction was for statutory rape; the second for forcible rape.

Higdon’s conviction on the forcible rape charge was eventually overturned on appeal. The state, by way of prosecutor Luther Strange, appealed that decision and the Alabama Supreme Court took the case up for review.

Eight of the nine justices on the panel found that the appeals court had erred. Their legal logic was such that a 17-year-old’s sexual assault of a four-year-old was enough to produce in the mind of the four-year-old, an “implied threat of serious physical injury.” The decision was reversed and remanded and Higdon’s conviction was reinstated.

Roy Moore dissented from that opinion. He wrote:

Because there was no evidence in this case of an implied threat of serious physical injury…or of an implied threat of death, Higdon cannot be convicted of sodomy in the first degree “by forcible compulsion.”

Even in the absence of any criminal charges, he should make himself available for a detailed interview about the specific allegations. Did he know these women and girls? What was his interaction with them? If he is not willing to address or refute their recollections, he should get out of the race.

Roy Moore's pursuit of a young girl is the symptom of a larger problem in evangelical circles

We need to talk about the segment of American culture that probably doesn’t think the allegations against Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore are particularly damning, the segment that will blanch at only two accusations in the Washington Post expose: He pursued a 14-year-old-girl without first getting her parents’ permission, and he initiated sexual contact outside of marriage. That segment is evangelicalism. In that world, which Moore travels in and I grew up in, 14-year-old girls courting adult men isn’t uncommon.

I use the phrase “14-year-old girls courting adult men,” rather than “adult men courting 14-year-old girls,” for a reason: Evangelicals routinely frame these relationships in those terms. That’s how I was introduced to these relationships as a home-schooled teenager in the 1990s, and it’s the language that my friends and I would use to discuss girls we knew who were in parent-sanctioned relationships with older men.

...As a teenager, I attended a lecture on courtship by a home-school speaker who was popular at the time. He praised the idea of “early courtship” so the girl could be molded into the best possible helpmeet for her future husband. The girl’s father was expected to direct her education after the courtship began so she could help her future husband in his work.

In retrospect, I understand what the speaker was really describing: Adult men selecting and grooming girls who were too young to have life experience. Another word for that is “predation.”

Much of the sexual abuse that takes place in Independent Fundamentalist Baptist, or IFB, churches involves adult men targeting 14- to 16-year-old girls. If caught, the teenage victim may be forced to repent the “sin” of having seduced an adult man. Former IFB megachurch pastor Jack Schaap argued that he should be released from prison after being convicted of molesting a 16-year-old girl, asserting that the “aggressiveness” of his victim “inhibited [his] impulse control.”

...The allegations against Roy Moore are merely a symptom of a larger problem. It’s not a Southern problem or an Alabama problem. It’s a Christian fundamentalist problem.

OK, let’s get this straight. Roy Moore, the self-righteous, Bible-thumping Alabama Republican running for the U.S. Senate has been accused of having a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl when he was 32. Three other women said he pursued them when they were between the ages of 16 and 18 and he was in his 30s. And who is Moore? A man who kept a gigantic monument of the Ten Commandments on his courthouse wall despite a judge’s order to remove it, and who has been a life-long public pontificator on behalf of traditional sexual morality. A rabble-rousing evangelical Christian who has condemned homosexuality, said that “the transgenders don’t have rights” and who has called the United States “a moral slum.”
Is there no commandment about hypocrisy? If not, there should be.
Moore categorically denies the allegations, which were first reported by the Washington Post. And no one should be judged before all the evidence is in.

Yet we cannot be blamed if we feel we’ve seen this movie before. There has been no short supply, historically, of mendacious conservatives who sermonize about the way others live their lives, but fail to abide by the standards they so glibly set. David Vitter. Dennis Hastert. Larry Craig. Just last month, Rep. Tim Murphy, a Pennsylvania Republican who claimed to “stand for the dignity and value of all human life, both the born and the unborn” resigned from Congress after the local paper published text messages in which he urged his mistress to have an abortion. Honestly, you can’t make this stuff up. Out of pure cynicism and political expediency, they deny truths about themselves and others, set rules (and pass laws!) that they personally can’t or won’t obey.

    1. The Ten Commandments includes a very important verse, "Honor thy mother and thy father..." These words instruct a child to respect, obey, and love her parents. This 14-year old GIRL had probably been taught this commandment and more than likely believed in it and practiced it.

Roy Moore deliberately caused Leigh Corfman to violate and break this commandment by inviegling her to sneak out at night. He is an immoral, indecent, licentious, lewd, depraved reprobate. What happened 40 years ago is an excellent indicator of who & what he is today. He damages girls, violates them, and destroys their joy in life. Leigh was robbed of her innocence, deprived of her childhood, and forced to deal with an inappropriate sexualization that demoralized her. Sick and quite quite sickening.

One detail that has not been highlighted but I believe is crucial: Roy Moore up & left Gadsen, Alabama and went first to Texas, then to Australia. What caused him to leave? Did a parent discover his pedophilia & threaten him? Remember, in the Deep South, a white criminal could simply leave when the situation became "too hot to handle."

Allegations against Roy Moore roil US evangelical ranks

...“Okay, seriously, we elected a man president who bragged about using his power and authority to sexually assault women,” tweeted Kyle James Howard, an African-American student at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. “Why are we surprised that members of his party would now be defending a party member’s sexual assault of a minor?”

One of the Southern Baptist Convention’s leading public policy experts, the Rev. Russell Moore, expressed dismay after the allegations against Judge Moore — no relation — surfaced on Thursday.

“Whether in the hills of Hollywood or the halls of power, it doesn’t matter,” Rev. Moore tweeted. “This is true: sexual assault and child molestation are evil, unjust, satanic.”

...Katelyn Beaty, an editor at large with the evangelical magazine Christianity Today, suggested that among many of Moore’s evangelical supporters, there’s a “presumption of innocence” because of their mistrust of national media such as The Washington Post.

“Many Christian communities have trouble appropriately responding to sex abuse allegations,” Beaty wrote in an email. “There is a default trust in powerful, charismatic male leaders, coupled with a discomfort with women who use their story or voice to challenge the status quo or power structures.”

The Curious Defenses of Roy Moore Betray the Evangelical Culture of Child Sexual Abuse

When historians write of Roy Moore, they will talk of a man devoted to arch-conservative principles who happened to have a dark personal life involving alleged statutory rape and sexual abuse of power. But that would be a mistake.

Moore’s politics and his personal life are not separate, but rather deeply interconnected. Both are rooted in defense of a specific subculture of evangelical conservatism that privileges an extreme form of patriarchy, gerontocracy and arranged child marriage.

This becomes obvious both from a study of the culture that Moore celebrates, as well as the particular words and phrases that Moore and his defenders choose to use. They’re subtle code, one that only those who grew up in and around a particular form of radically anti-government, largely homeschooled religious conservatism are attuned to hear. It is the politics of the Duggars, the Quiverfull movement, militia groups and the Duck Dynasty family.

When Moore says he never dated teenage girls “without their mother’s permission,” most commentators took that as a form of blame-shifting and misogyny. When state auditor Jim Ziegler disgustingly defended Moore as a “single man, early 30s, never been married, dating teenage girls–never been married and he liked younger girls,” most didn’t pay much attention to his curious emphasis on “single” and “never been married.” When Alabama County GOP Chair David Hall defended Moore’s alleged sexual predation on a 14-year-old girl with “she’s not saying that anything happened other than they kissed,” it was taken as a gross defense of repulsive behavior out of political expediency.

But these statements form a pattern drawn directly from the culture of Moore’s fanatical evangelical supporters: the age difference simply doesn’t bother them.

In their world, young women are a burden to their families, a constant temptation to sin, their bodies a Devil’s playground. For them, the goal of an upstanding parent is to raise sons who will defend their honor and their heritage by any means necessary, and to raise daughters who will keep their own honor pure via chastity until they can be transferred to the “care” of an approved man in an arrangement sanctioned by both sides and by their God. From this perspective, age of consent laws are an inconvenience merely allowing more time for young women to develop rebellious habits and engage in unbecoming conduct

It is disturbingly commonplace in this culture to see “understandings” in which older men from their late twenties on well into middle age are “given permission” to date much younger women and girls.

he opening sketch on NBC’s Saturday Night Live mocked U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore.

The former Alabama chief justice, a staunch social conservative, was accused this week of initiating a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl when he was in his 30s.

“It’s hard to convince people you’re not into young girls when you dress like Woody from Toy Story,” Vice President Mike Pence tells Moore during the sketch.

“Alright, if everyone thinks I did it, I’ll marry her,” Moore tells Pence.

  38. It will be just more of the bible thumping sexist bigotry.

It's the Libruls putting these women up to it because they are godless heathens.

He's already got someone claiming the Washington Post was paying these women $1000 each to claim he assaulted them.

He's thump his bible, and pray and rant. If it comes to it, he'll blubber, repent and ask forgiveness and his knuckle dragging fuckers will forgive him.

BTW did everyone notice that his wife is 14 years younger than he is? That means when he was 32 she was.....18. Seems he really likes that age difference. Not young enough to be his daughter but young enough to intimidate and control? She was 24 when she married him. He was 38. Really? 38 and never been fucked? Right. Anyone believe Molester Moore saved himself for his wedding night?

14 year old girls barely know how to address the topic of their menstrual cycles, so to expect them not only to speak openly about their sexual experiences (much less abuse), and then to have to repeat these comments again and again is totally outrageous. And then, to have to do it in open court??? That's right--speak up, honey, so the judgmental creeps can snicker and howl at you.

These people think "Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed", and "Get 'em young and raise 'em right", so gawd forbid a little girl should defend herself.

Alabama women: speak up and defend yourselves and your children. Dont vote for this nasty old creep.
