Donald Trump is on track to have told a whopping 2,000 falsehoods during his first year in office.

Courtesy of WaPo:

For some reason, our year-long project analyzing, categorizing and tracking every false or misleading claim by President Trump had seemed like quite a burden in the past month. Well, the numbers are in and now we know why: In the past 35 days, Trump has averaged an astonishing nine claims a day.

The total now stands at 1,628 claims in 298 days, or an average of 5.5 claims a day. That puts the president on track to reach 1,999 claims by the end of his first year in office, though he obviously would easily exceed 2,000 if he maintained the pace of the past month.

This is usually the part of the post where I say "How can people still support a guy who simply cannot tell the truth?"

But then I have to remind myself that the people who still support Donald Trump have no relationship with the truth, do not trust facts, and believe the mainstream media is a liberal creation designed to destroy their conservative leaders.

At that point I just bang my head on the desk until the pretty stars arrive to distract me from the craziness that seems to have infected our country.

    1. an attempted impeached, no?

      Are two-thirds still required?

A two-thirds vote (67 senators) was required to remove Clinton from office. Fifty senators voted to remove Clinton on the obstruction of justice charge and 45 voted to remove him on the perjury charge; no member of his own Democratic Party voted guilty on either charge. Clinton, like Johnson a century earlier, was acquitted on all charges.

      It was Consensual Adults-regardless:
"I did not have sexual relations with that woman"
"Linda TRIPP provided Starr with taped phone conversations in which Monica Lewinsky, a former White House Intern, discussed having performed fellatio on Clinton. At the deposition, the judge rejected the plaintiff's lawyer's definition of the term "sexual relations"[3][4] that Clinton claims to have construed to mean only vaginal intercourse. Judge Wright then told the attorneys they could be as explicit as necessary in asking their questions."
" Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998, by the House of Representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228–206 vote)[18] and obstruction of justice (by a 221–212 vote)."

Senate "There is only one question before you, albeit a difficult one, one that is a question of fact and law and constitutional theory. Would it put at risk the liberties of the people to retain the President in office? Putting aside partisan animus, if you can honestly say that it would not, that those liberties are safe in his hands, then you must vote to acQUIT."

"Clinton, like Johnson a century earlier, was acquitted on all charges."

What on earth happened for the United States of America to get to this stage? The election and re-election of President Obama showed such promise but now you have a clown occupying the Oval Office who has turned a great nation into a world-wide laughing stock. We can point fingers at Russia for interfering in your election but it was still American citizens who voted for Trump. Why?

Trump is a narcissistic con man who realized he could make a base for himself with the cry-baby, racist, under educated, poor white trash who have felt marginalized recently, with a few Hilary Haters thrown in.

I used to feel sorry for the low information voters/non-voters who favored Trump. Not anymore.

Speaking of Hillary haters,Kimmel did a segment last night where they asked people on the street if Hillary should be impeached.
Only one guy said yes, then caught himself and said oh but she isn't in office, the rest went on and on about how she should be impeached for all her crimes, but couldn't name what they are.

Trump did a fine job of taking a lie, making the truth with these low intelligence folks.

I know people who did not vote for Trump who lie frequently to manipulate and control. They see nothing wrong with lying about themselves and others because their value and goal is to get what they want unlike people who’s value and goal is to be trustworthy, truthful and factual.

That said I was stunned when an acquaintance told me she knows all news is fake recently. She has a propensity to tell her self things without checking or asking about facts. She may believe everything Trump says because he is Republican.

IMO the Trump base do not care about facts or truth. They need to live in a bubble of we are good, right, the best and they are bad, wrong, the worst and all the fault of problems.

With all the cases of sexual harassment seeing the light of day, it is time for many people to apologize to Anita Hill and start including Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas, in the list of high powered government officials who sexually harassed women.

"Women who were willing to step forward to accuse powerful men of sexual misconduct were shown that they would be demeaned, harassed, and ultimately not believed by enough people to keep those men out of power anyway. All these years later, the women who accused Donald Trump of sexual assault know that the world hasn’t changed all that much."

"Joe Biden, as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee during Thomas’s confirmation, was complicit in the degradation of Anita Hill. So were all the other white men on the Committee. So was I, as a 13-year-old boy who didn’t know my testicles from my brain"

It's mind-boggling what some people will believe even when presented with facts. Maybe some inherent need to be right? I'm talking evangelicals, first and foremost, who not only do not understand the Constitution but the Bible they brow beat others with.

So basically every time he opens his mouth.
maybe they could save a lot of time and just count the one or two times he tells the truth.

I’ve found that people in general are wary of most things they hear or read now, no matter what their political leanings. FOX news has done a great disservice to Americans when it comes to facts. Donald Trump and the Russians have stepped in and taken advantage of the chaos FOX news created. It’s very frightening to hear normally intelligent people parrot “they all lie”, then escape to their own bubble of choice. This isn’t going to get fixed anytime soon.

" led to a public repudiation on September 20, 2004. Rather stated, "if I knew then what I know now – I would not have gone ahead with the story as it was aired, and I certainly would not have used the documents in question,""McAuliffe later pointed out that Rove and another Republican operative, Ralph E. Reed, Jr., had "a known history of dirty tricks," and he asked whether Republican National Committee chairman Ed Gillespie would rule out any involvement by GOP consultant Roger Stone.[138][139] At a community forum in Utica, New York in 2005, U.S. Representative Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) pointed out that the controversy served Rove's objectives: "Once they did that, then it undermined everything else about Bush's draft dodging. ... That had the effect of taking the whole issue away."[140] After being criticized, Hinchey responded, "I didn't allege I had any facts. I said this is what I believe and take it for what it's worth."
"Stone said "It was nuts to think I had anything to do with those documents...[t]hose papers were potentially devastating to George Bush. You couldn’t put them out there assuming that they would be discredited. You couldn’t have assumed that this would redound to Bush’s benefit. I believe in bank shots, but that one was too big a risk."

The webs inside Trump's head. Must be a mess in their. His lies are truth to the Right. They have been lying to each other for so long that they can't see truth anymore.
Also better to stick your' head in the sand and pretend the elephant in the room is not there.
