Clearly worried about the 2018 midterms Donald Trump is arguing that electing Democrats will undo all of his hard work. Damn, I hope so.

Okay there is literally NOTHING to suggest that this is true.

Trump is simply making yet another fact free assertion, not realizing that the Democrats being mobilized by his presidency are typically are far better critical thinkers than the slack jawed morons who voted for him.
I swear this reads like a campaign ad for Democratic challengers in 2018 and 2020.

In fact a former Obama speechwriter has already responded.

Trump simply does not realize that we do not buy his bullshit.

However I have to say I really enjoy watching the beginning of his freakout over the midterms.

I imagine that these will only become more openly desperate and factually inaccurate as we inch closer to November.

In a Sunday afternoon interview, Cohen called Trump “the most despicable human being to ever reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” and said that Trump could possibly launch a war to boost his dismal approval ratings.

“A narcissistic sociopath doesn’t change,” Cohen said. “It endangers the country. And war — like ‘wag the dog’ — it is something he could get into to improve the ratings for the ’18 elections, where they are in desperate shape.”

CNN’s Toobin: Accusations of Mueller’s Anti-Trump Bias Are a ‘Completely Frivolous Argument’

...Stelter eventually brought up all the recent conservative talking points about how the FBI is tainted by anti-Trump bias because of the involvement of people like Peter Strzok. Toobin argued that Strzok is no longer a factor since Mueller demoted him from the investigation, and that the notion of “improper activity” is “just frivolous.”

“It’s never been done before that the views of an fbi agent, much less a prosecutor or the lead prosecutor, has been used to discredit the organization,” Toobin said. “It’s a completely frivolous argument.”

MSNBC’s unabashed liberal primetime lineup produced a stunning ratings success for the network in 2017, boosting its viewership by nearly 50 percent compared to the 2016 campaign cycle. MSNBC finishes the year with its largest daily audience since the network debuted in 1996.

The primetime home of Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow, and Lawrence O’Donnell posted the biggest ratings gain in 2017 of any of the all-news cable channels.

And in terms of the entire cable television spectrum, “MSNBC finished 2017 as the third-most-watched basic cable network,” Adweek reports. “Only behind powerhouses Fox News and ESPN,”

Last year, MSNBC ranked as the 8th most-watched basic cable channel.

MSNBC averaged 1.6 million primetime viewers this year. For context, that compares to the 900,000 viewers MSNBC averaged in 2011, and the paltry 385,000 viewers the network claimed in primetime during 2006 when the channel was barely a blip on the cable ratings screen.

Overall, Donald Trump was very good to MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News this year. All three boasted big audiences gains as viewers scrambled to keep pace with the chaotic news events surrounding the historically unpopular president. But MSNBC posted the largest gains over last year.

And it wasn’t just primetime. Shows hosted by Nicolle Wallace, Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle, Ari Melber, and Joy Reid all recorded big numbers in 2017.

But not in a way I think he’s be pleased with.

And when he’s gone, these shows will not “fail.” They’ll just move on.

There are several good journalist on or were on msnbc. But I will never forget joe and mika giving drumpf massive air time and helped promote that criminal. Never will forget the stations, tv and tele service, internet companies lack of security and those directly involved in this outrageous attempt to harm our country. We need to compile a list of all of those corporations and ceo's that enabled drumpf and stumps. They must be exposed to the American people.

  6. A POTUS that measures the greatness of a country by only by it's wealth not by how its citizens live is not the POTUS we need now, much less in 2018 or 2020.
He does not care if its citizens are cold, hungry, without electricity, food or water. He does not care if they are insured, have decent housing, schools, education. He does not care about the land, water or the air we breathe.
He is for himself, family and cronies and business.
We don't need Trump now, or in the future.

It is incredibly sad (SAD) that his base, none of whom have a stock to his name, have not the slightest idea whether the stock market will be up or down -- and Trump knows that they're completely ignorant.
And, of course, he doesn't know what the stock market's going to do. If he did, he'd be running a hedge fund and not bothering with politics or real estate.
But he talks about "wealth" as though the poor schmucks who voted for him have another 25 cents in their pocket after this past year. If he tells them they do, they believe him.
And all those jobs and most of the positive economic indicators are because of what Barack Obama did to rescue our economy from the brink. It's paying off now -- just in time for Deplorable Trump to take credit for them.

Some of the people in Trump's base may drag their knuckles when they walk but his base also includes the wealthy GOP donors.

But here's a statistic that his base should be aware of: The Bull Market in stocks is 103 months old. Trump owns 11 of them.

      OR

According to Forbes magazine, Trump ranks Sixth in Stock Market Performance behind Obama and Clinton:

  12. Him keeping his job is dependent on the midterms. It is the ONLY reason the Republicans haven’t impeached him or invoked the 25th.

Once it is apparent to even a Deplorable that Trump is a liability rather than an asset, he’ll be kicked to the curb. And he knows it.

Can’t wait for him to be publicly humiliated with “You’re FIRED!”

It will eventually happen. If he’s not impeached, if he’s not taken out with the 25th, he will be passed over for a second termin favor of someone that is sane and more popular. The Republican party will FIRE him and replace him on the ticket without someone who has a chance of winning. He will be a LOSER. He will be FIRED.

Most of all, he will be publicly humiliated.

    I can’t wait.

FOr an incumbent to NOT be supported by their party is pretty unheard of. It would be humiliating. Can't wait for it to happen to the most deserving of humiliation of all - the short-fingered fat vulgarian, never invited to any cool kid parties - even as president, even when he's so desperate to be liked, but he hasn't a clue on how to go about being likeable.

If he does not resign or get the 25th, he will be impeached asap by congress. He deserves impeachment and criminal charges due to the crime that he knowingly committed. All republicans are guilty and should be forced out.

Today Trump tweeted a self-congratulatory message bragging about the accomplishments he thinks he's made, nearly all of which are either lies or harmful to the majority of the country.

On the same day, President Obama posts a list on Facebook of books he's read over the past year. Because he reads. He reads adult books. He reads things that don't have his name inserted in every other paragraph in order to keep his attention.

How could this country have sunk so low in less than a year?

Trump’s vendetta against federal law enforcement

ONCE AGAIN, President Trump has launched a round of attacks on federal law-enforcement agencies. Mr. Trump’s fury at the FBI and the Justice Department is now familiar, as is its purpose: to discredit special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation into Russian election interference and degrade the independence of law enforcement. The only novelty lies in the question of what or who he will vilify next.

...In assisting the president’s efforts to erode public trust in Mr. Mueller, congressional Republicans are also abetting his attacks on the independence and integrity of federal law enforcement as a whole. “I have absolute right to do what I want to do with the Justice Department,” Mr. Trump claimed this week. The foundations of our democracy rest on the opposite being true: that no one is above the law and that justice will be dealt out evenhandedly, not on the basis of political vendettas.

Calls for a partisan housecleaning of federal law enforcement will only make it easier for Mr. Trump to turn the FBI and the Justice Department into the politicized shells he already imagines them to be.

Trump is bad-mouthing the feds because he knows they will eventually be going after him. What I hope is that after Trump gets run out of D.C., the feds keep their sites on Trump and his rotten family. And hopefully in the future, all the illegal money the Trumps are sitting on eventually is confiscated by the government. It will help pay for that heliport in Florida and as a reimbursement to the Secret Service for Trump's constant golf trips.

    Commander-in-Chief, what a freaking joke.
