Donald Trump is planning to campaign aggressively for GOP candidates in the 2018 midterms. Promise?

Courtesy of WaPo:

President Trump is not on the ballot in 2018, but the White House is planning a full-throttle campaign to plunge the president into the midterm elections, according to senior officials and advisers familiar with the planning.

Trump’s political aides have met with 116 candidates for office in recent months, according to senior White House officials, seeking to become involved in Senate, House and gubernatorial races — and possibly contested Republican primaries as well.

The president has told advisers that he wants to travel extensively and hold rallies and that he is looking forward to spending much of 2018 campaigning. He has also told aides that the elections would largely determine what he can get done — and that he expects he would be blamed for losses, such as last week’s humiliating defeat that handed a Senate seat in Alabama to a Democrat for the first time in 25 years.

“For the president, this isn’t about adulation and cheering crowds,” White House political director Bill Stepien said in an interview. “This is about electing and reelecting Republicans.”

First off this is ABSOLUTELY about adulation and cheering crowds.

Trump is a publicity seeking vampire who feeds on applause and attention.

Secondly I think we should all thank Donald Trump for doing half of the Democrats work for them in 2018.

You know that many, if not most, of the Democratic advertisements were going to feature the Republican candidates cozying up to Donald Trump, and now Trump is actually going to provide campaign commercial ready footage for that very purpose.

Hey maybe he can bring Roy Moore and Steve Bannon along as well so that it can be a Democratic slam dunk?

Wow, the Dem wave of 2018 is pretty much assured. The so-called president may mention the candidate's name, but the bigliest narcissist will spend most of the time on stage bragging on himself.

We can never take anything for granted or let down our guard. We must continue to fight for democracy full force.

    2. Yep. Bet he can’t wait to start campaigning. He’ll treat it like a victory tour, bragging about how he won, his inaugural crowds and all that he’s accomplished.

Still praying his Tax Scam will miraculously go down in flames so he’ll have NO major legislation for an entire year. Nothing but a bunch of judges (which is really bad enough. Really BAD! Horribly bad. No one seems to get how bad.)

    5. 4:01. The judges can only be removed for CRIMES. Not for being unqualified or incompetent. Once the REPUBLICAN Congress puts them in those lifetime seats, there is pretty much no way to get them out.

Now Cory Booker has asked for a DOJ memo that would show one judge committed PERJURY during his Senate interview. If proven, he *could* be removed. But again, the Republicans would have to cooperate as he has already been confirmed.

      https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/cory-booker-thomas-farr_us_5a3141b5e4b01bdd76592c34

"Thomas Farr, who Trump tapped for a lifetime seat on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, served as a lawyer for the campaign of then-Sen. Jesse Helms (R-N.C.) in 1990. Shortly ahead of Election Day, the Helms campaign and Republicans sent out more than 100,000 postcards targeting African-Americans in the state. The postcards gave incorrect information about voter qualifications and falsely told voters that when they went to vote, they would have to tell polling officials how long they’d lived in their precinct. The postcards also said election fraud could be punished by up to five years in jail. The Department of Justice sued the campaign and the Republican Party, charging them with violating the Voting Rights Act. The parties eventually settled the case with a consent decree.

In September, Farr told the Senate as part of his confirmation hearing that he’d known nothing about the plan to send the postcards. But J. Gerald Hebert, a deputy chief in the voting section at the time, said he kept contemporaneous notes on the case that showed Farr had been consulted about the plan before it was executed. In a 1992 complaint, the Justice Department said the Helms campaign met in October 1990, before the postcards went out, to discuss ballot security ― and “an attorney who had been involved in past ballot security efforts on behalf of Senator Helms and/or the Defendant North Carolina Republican party” was there. Hebert says the attorney was Farr.

The Senate judiciary committee approved Farr’s nomination in October, but Hebert’s information, first reported by INDY Week, prompted calls for the committee to recall him for further questioning."

BTW Trump says he doesn't vet his nominations at all. He is relying on Congress to do that and to toss out any candidates that are unqualified.

      What a fucking moron.

Monday morning, Twitter began banning accounts which glorify violence and/or promote racial/religious/sexual/ethnic hostility. It’s a premeditated purge that is widely seen as an attempt to reduce the prominence of white nationalists, white supremacists, and neo-Nazis on the platform.

One of the accounts that has disappeared, observers of the far right noticed, belonged to the faux-intellectual white-pride publication American Renaissance. As BuzzFeed’s Joe Bernstein documented here, an American Renaissance staffer collaborated on a number of pieces about race that were published by former White House adviser Steve Bannon’s Breitbart site. The personal account of Renaissance editor Jared Taylor, who recently celebrated Bannon’s praise for an infamous white-supremacist novel called The Camp of the Saints, has also been terminated.

Another banned account belonged to white nationalist Jayda Fransen of the fringe Britain First party, whose name you may recall because on Nov. 29 Donald Trump retweeted three videos she’d posted which purported to show Muslims committing anti-white hate crimes. (Reports indicate that at least two of the three videos were circulated in misleading fashion and do not actually depict religious violence.) Fransen has previously been convicted of harassing a Muslim woman in the U.K. and recently spoke at a far-right event in Poland that was formally condemned as a “fascist march” by the European Union Parliament.

What a bummer for Trump and Bannon, losing all these great accounts on the same morning! Mondays, am I right?

He’ll alienate some more with racist comments about red skins or NFL players or some such shit.

Brag some more about how he won the election and had the biggest inaugural crowd ever.

And how he and Putin are friends and there WAS NO COLLUSION. He’ll repeat it over and over.

Oh, yeah, he will be a disaster.

And they better hold all of those rallies in the morning before he starts to Sundown.

I just read on the daily kos an article that came from one of the major news papers that trump as well as pence were informed on Jan 6th that the CIA had captured proof of putin's direct orders to interfer in the election!
(I can't add the because i am on my phone)

So trump, pence and others in the transition team had proof since Jan 6TH and he still lies!

    1. They have to deny it and try to hide it. Otherwise their election is a sham and they are not legitimate winners. Can’t risk that. So yes, the entire thing has been a cover up and only goes to prove how unfit both of them are for the offices they hold.

BTW what got Nixon? It was the COVER UP.

Trump making all of the same mistakes. (Because when you don’t learn from history that’s what you do.)

He’ll probably fire Robert Mueller too, making it a slam dunk of a Nixon-do-over.

As long as he does it AFTER he signs the Tax Scam, the Republicans may decide now is the time to save their own asses for the 2018 election and impeach his sorry ass. After all impeachment does start in the House and they’re up for re-election.
