#MeToo movement is in the running for Time's Person of the Year.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Time magazine’s shortlist for the 2017 Person of the Year was announced on the “Today” show on Monday, and the #MeToo movement is in the running.

Time has been selecting a Person of the Year since 1927, using the title to recognize “the person or group of people who most influenced the news during the past year, for better or for worse.”

This year’s list is a smattering of everyone from business moguls to world leaders to political movements. The finalists are:
  • Colin Kaepernick
  • Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
  • Donald Trump
  • The Dreamers
  • Jeff Bezos
  • Kim Jong Un
  • The #MeToo movement
  • Patty Jenkins
  • Robert Mueller
  • Xi Jinping

Okay let me just say that if the #MeToo campaign beats out Donald Trump for this award, that Trump will quite literally lose his shit.

And since I imagine that all of Trump's accusers will be included in the accompanying article, his twitter response will be epic indeed.

Actually if Kaepernick, The Dreamers, or Robert Mueller win it will also inspire a fairly awesome response from Tangerine Twitler.

So I would be good with those as well.

Kaepernick will send him over the edge. He denies the sex assault allegations but he's tweeted nonstop about NFL players "disrespecting our flag and troops" and it's doubtful he could try to say it was his lawyer writing all of those tweets.

I thought he said they called to say "probably," and that wasn't good enough so he took a pass! Uh huh, of course they did, donnie dotard.

Just about anyone on that list will send him into orbit. Especially Rocket Man.

Yep, I'm still rooting for the massive coronary or debilitating stroke that renders him mute!

trump isn't a bad idea. he will want to read the article and as such he will forced to face the truth-America does not want him. i'm sure there will be much "fake news!". Time isn't known for bad reporting, however. on the other hand, trump is so nuts he'll think it's good. just like all Americans love his tax plan and will punish democrats by not voting for them next year. i've shed too many tears because of "the Donald" it's for him to get the message.

    3. I read that Time was recently purchased by the Koch Brothers. They will likely insist that Donald is on the cover. Why else would they buy it?

"Good Things Come In Threes - has a definite positive connotation. From fairytales to hollywood blockbusters, “the rule of three”

Kellyanne Conway and Trump must have had the same mother! Both are liars, frauds and ugly inside and out! The media should stop covering Kellyanne! Would love them do the same as to Trump, but we need to keep track or his words, movements and his playing the role of being potus.

(THREAD) Republicans are lying about The Logan Act—what it says; why it exists; why it matters—and their lies are perverting discussion of a key element of the Russia probe. This thread explains The Logan Act is and why it matters now more than ever.

    Hope you'll read and share.

1/ First, the basics: The Logan Act (18 U.S. Code § 953: Private Correspondence with Foreign Governments) is a federal criminal statute, and a very serious one. Violation of the statute is a felony, and those convicted of a violation can serve up to three years in federal prison.

2/ Republicans like to give the impression no one's even *thought* about this federal criminal statute since it was passed—incidentally, like *many* statutes—in the first few decades of the nation's existence.

But that's false—it was last amended during the Clinton presidency.

3/ Republicans also give the impression no one's ever been charged with a violation of 18 U.S.C § 953—which is *also* false. More than one person has been charged with violating this federal criminal statute. But no one's ever been convicted. Why?
*Not for the reasons you think*."

More evidence of what I've been saying the past few weeks about the fear Republican leaders have that Trump will cause the GOP to splinter.

If you want to know why they stick with him, here's your answer.

I've said a few times that I think the Republican Party fears Trump can and will tear it apart (i.e., form a new political party, taking half the GOP with him) the *moment* it breaks with him.

This is further evidence, along with McConnell's reversal after Trump endorsed Moore.

As More College Students Say “Me Too,” Accused Men Are Suing For Defamation

More people are sharing their “Me Too” stories, but a backlash has been brewing at colleges across the country, with accused students filing defamation suits against women who say they were assaulted.

About a month after her divorce was finalized, a PhD student at Washington University in St. Louis was walking across campus when a stranger approached and asked for her name. Once she identified herself, the stranger quickly handed her an envelope before disappearing. Inside, there was some unsettling news: her ex-husband was suing her for defamation. Her offense: reporting to the university’s Title IX office that he had raped her. It was late in the day, so she spent a nerve-wracking night until she could contact an attorney and start on a journey that would drain her savings as she tried to prove she'd told the truth.

Eleven months earlier, in January 2016, the woman known as Jane Doe in court papers had told the school that her then-husband, identified as John Doe, had raped her on Dec. 17, 2015, while they both were students at Washington University. They’d been married less than two years. Within a few months, the university found John, a law student at the time of the reported rape, in violation of campus sexual assault policies. Since he’d already completed classes, the university put his law degree on hold for two years. Jane thought this ugly chapter of her life was over, until that day in December 2016 when the stranger approached.

Now, John was blaming her for his loss of a job at a law firm and demanding that she pay damages for having hurt his reputation, his career prospects, and his physical and emotional well-being.

"I thought I was done suffering at the hand of this person," Jane, 27, told BuzzFeed News. "I thought he was done making my life miserable. All of a sudden I'm being sued."
