Democratic lawmaker to introduce the "Stable Genius Act" which would require presidential candidates to undergo a mental health examination.

Rep. Brendan Boyle
Courtesy of The Hill:

A Democratic lawmaker says that he will introduce legislation that would require presidential candidates to undergo a mental health examination following a tweet from President Trump in which he praised himself as a "stable genius."

Rep. Brendan Boyle's office said in a press release that the Pennsylvania Democrat would introduce the "Stable Genius Act" in the House on Tuesday.

The act would require all presidential candidates to file a Federal Election Commission (FEC) report "certifying that he or she has undergone medical examination by the medical office under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Navy."

Boyle said in the statement that American voters have the right to know whether a candidate has the mental fortitude to withstand the pressures of the White House.

Man do I love this!

It just seems like a no brainer that every American would want to know that their president is not a psychopath.

Right?

And hopefully they can have the law in place before 2020.

Fusion GPS lawyer: Someone has already been killed over publication of Trump-Russia dossier http:

I wrote about this almost a year ago, as I was reading a lot of UK media at the time they were reporting it.

The name everyone should Google is OLEG EROVINKIN.

Putin had him killed in December 2016. It's one of the reasons I started focusing this feed on the Steele Dossier.

We’re Psychiatrists. It’s Our Duty to Question the President’s Mental State.

...Cognitive function, or the ability to process knowledge and thoughts, is of critical importance for the office he holds, and its decline can be another danger sign. Some observers—including his own staff, according Wolff’s book—have noted a decline in Trump’s ability to form complete sentences, to stay with a thought, to use complex words and not to make loose associations. Only a thorough examination of Trump himself and his medical records, among other sources, could yield a diagnosis of these signs. Again, a diagnosis, prognosis and treatment are Trump’s private business and not ours. What is our business, as health professionals who have a duty to the public, is whether the president and commander in chief has the capacity to serve in office. Those questions are what mobilized us to speak out about our concerns in the first place, so that we can fulfill our duties to educate and to warn the public about an erratic and unstable leader, to help protect its and our own safety and well-being.

Ha. An opinion piece, by her... supporting her previous public opinion of Trump... which again breaks all the standards or protocol for any diagnoses of a patient by a physician or psychiatrist. The licensing board needs to have a sit down with this 'doctor' and determine if she is qualified to retain her license and/or subject to reprimand and suspension of license.

you again? doctors have an obligation to report if a person is a danger to others. trump is a danger to the whole world. i took psychology but haven't finished yet. if trump was my client i would report him as dangerous to the court system. he needs therapy and medication-more importantly, he needs to be removed from office as soon as possible. he is not fit to be president. i'm sorry, mr troll, but trump is a great danger to himself and others.

"i took psychology but...." uh, yeah that is quite clear you are a pretend professional 2:48.

Please educate yourself with the American Psychiatric Association official opinion on this matter.:

The American Psychiatric Association urged members of its profession to uphold its decades-long principle that psychiatrists should never offer diagnostic opinions about people they haven't personally examined, in light of President Trump's impending medical exam and questions about his mental fitness.

"We at the APA call for an end to psychiatrists providing professional opinions in the media about public figures whom they have not examined, whether it be on cable news appearances, books, or in social media," the group wrote. "Arm-chair psychiatry or the use of psychiatry as a political tool is the misuse of psychiatry and is unacceptable and unethical."

The rebuke came Tuesday as politicians and members of the media were ratcheting up their rhetoric about Trump's mental health. Earlier in the day, Pennsylvania Democratic Rep. Brendan Boyle unveiled legislation that would require presidential candidates to have a medical exam and publicly disclose the results before the general election.

The association reminded its members that one of its core principles, known as the "Goldwater Rule," has been in place since 1973 and states that psychiatrists should not publicly issue medical opinions about people they haven't personally examined in a medical context.

"The Goldwater Rule ... makes it unethical for a psychiatrist to render a professional opinion to the media about a public figure unless the psychiatrist has examined the person and has proper authorization to provide the statement," Dr. Saul Levin, the group's CEO and medical director, said in a statement. "APA stands behind this rule."

Unacceptable and Unethical. She should lose her license as she clearly has violated all standards and ethics. It is also quite apparent that maybe she needs an exam!

better educated than you, pal. you don't get it. is it unethical not to call out on a president who is completely unfit? his hand is on that button, bub.if one of my clients wanted to kill you, had the weapon and the time, would you like me to sit on that? where is the difference? you talk about ethics but it's clear you don't understand the point i keep trying to make. trump is a sick, sick man. he would not think twice about using the nukes if Kim even looked at him. he has been trying to provoke Kim for months. it's nice to know the crazy on the other side isn't as stupid as trump. . he does not get it and neither do you. i'll make sure to follow the ethics if one of my clients wants to kill you. it will be such comfort to your mom. the law requires reporting some one who is a danger to others. the scale doesn't matter. what matters is that a very dangerous person has a weapon and intends on using it to kill someone. do you understand yet? nope. republicans.

Trump had an unusual—but perhaps newly fitting—description of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska Wednesday afternoon. At his first Cabinet meeting in 2018 he called the refuge, "one of the great oil sites."

..."So, in addition to the largest tax cut and reform in history, we have one of the great oil sites that’s now been approved," he said. "They’ve been trying to approve ANWR—I don’t know if people know this—for over 40 years. Ronald Reagan tried to get it approved for exploration and for drilling. And for 40 years, they’ve been trying to get it approved. That was in the bill—an individual mandate in the bill."

...The refuge is nearly 20 million acres of land that was formally established ANWR in 1960. The 1002 area, where drilling would take place, makes up 1.5 million acres. It is home to 42 fish species, eight marine mammals, over 200 bird species, and 37 land mammals—including caribou and polar bears.

As the New York Times noted in an explanatory article shortly after the legislation passed, it could be years before any drilling would happen. The Interior Department is expected to determine what lands within the 1002 Area will be up for grabs for the two lease sales, one of which has to be conducted within four years.

This is so needed. I hope it becomes law.

But, we need more testing. We need to know that the person who wants to be president understands the laws of the land, the constitution, the libel laws, etc. This current man knows nothing at all about the country, what it stands for, how it got to be this way. No more ignorant presidents, please. We need to know they are intelligent, knowledgeable and stable. It can no longer be assumed to be so. We need TESTS!!!!!!!!!!!! Given by qualified objective professionals, not personal physicians, etc.

Section 1 of Article Two of the United States Constitution sets forth the eligibility requirements for serving as president of the United States:

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

At the time the President takes office he must be:

      a natural born citizen
      at least 35 years old
an inhabitant of the United States for at least fourteen years.

Soooo 3:36, please explain where in the eligibility requirements of the Constitution.... any of the above blabber by 2:38.... could be enforced, as it is not Constitutional requirement?

Ever heard of Constitutional Amendment? With all the holes in the qualifications of the current president, maybe we need to amend the constitution by adding more requirements -- being of a certain intelligence, knowing what the constitution guarantees for the citizens, being of sound mind, etc. Most jobs require certain qualities for a person to be hired and this most important job should as well.

      "Ever heard of Constitutional Amendment?"

lol. Hey, good for you, you are getting somewhere 7:25!

Now, lets investigate what it takes to ratify an Amendment to the Constitution, and think about whether such an Amendment could possibly occur in the next three years?

Bonus thought... it is really an Amendment you want, simply because you don't like the guy. Could you imagine any potential negative consequences of such a wishful, wistful, Amendment, down the road?

If arrested trump may receive a mental health exam to make sure he is fit for trial. At this point there are several areas that we may need to demand mental exams if we pay there salary. I like how Robert De Niro explained trump. J==koff.
