Since Donald Trump is abdicating his responsibilities, the Democrats have released a report on Russia's continued interference in Western democracies around the world.

Courtesy of the AP:

A new report by Senate Democrats warns of deepening Russian interference throughout Europe and concludes that even as some Western democracies have responded with aggressive countermeasures, President Donald Trump has offered no strategic plan to bolster their efforts or safeguard the U.S. from again falling victim to Kremlin meddling.

The report commissioned by the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is the first from Congress to comprehensively detail Russian efforts to undermine democracies since the 2016 presidential election. It wastes no time in calling out Trump personally for what it describes as a failure to respond to Russia’s mounting destabilization activities in the U.S. and worldwide.

“Never before has a U.S. president so clearly ignored such a grave and growing threat to U.S. national security,” the report released by Sen. Ben Cardin of Maryland warns.

Sen. Bob Corker, the Republican chairman of the committee, didn’t sign on to the report. But even without formal GOP backing, the recounting of Russian operations in 19 European nations foreshadows the still-unpublished findings of the Senate Intelligence Committee’s bipartisan inquiry into Russia’s role during the U.S. election.

Cardin said the roughly 200-page report is built on both Republican and Democratic ideas, and he commissioned it to show Americans the scope of efforts by Russian President Vladimir Putin to undermine democracy.

And yet Donald Trump does nothing.

Gee, it's almost as if he were working for the Putin agenda, instead of the American agenda.

But that can't be right, can it?

VICE:"Kremlin-linked hackers published stolen emails from the International Olympic Committee and World Anti-Doping Agency Wednesday in retaliation for Russia’s ban from next month’s Winter Olympics.

The data dump by the Fancy Bears group also contained emails from the United States Olympic Committee and some third-party groups.

The hackers, also known as APT28, were allegedly responsible for breaching the email servers of the Democratic National Committee in 2016. U.S. intelligence officials link the group to the GRU, Russia’s foreign military intelligence agency."

    1. Maybe, but Australia has a better canary.

Their green sea turtles that nest on their beaches are now almost entirely female. There is only one male turtle born for every 117 eggs. This is because (like crodiles) gender is determined by the temperature in which the egg matures. Lower temperatures give you males, higher temperatures give you females.

They’re incubating above 87 degrees F and being born predominantly female. And it’s been going on for 20 YEARS. They did a survey of the juvenile and adult population. Not only is this really bad as far as breeding goes but even worse when it comes to diverstiy of the gene pool.

Disturbing how many republicans proudly exhibit their treason to Americans.

When the chit comes down and it will and there is no more of them hiding, may their souls burn of guilt and shame forever in hell. There is no excuse of treason against the American people. Guilty as the sin dripping from their lying thin pale ugly lips.

"“I’m afraid I’m going to have to burst the president’s bubble. I don’t think there’s been any Democrat who has said there is no collusion. At different points in the process of interviewing individuals, members might have said I haven’t seen any collusion to date. Collusion is kind of a funny word and I don’t actually like using it. Coordination, cooperation, I think those terms are more reflective of what might have gone on.”

"Trump wants to talk about collusion because he knows that collusion is not a crime and difficult to prove. Trump doesn’t want to talk about cooperation, coordination, or any assistance that the Russians provided his campaign. Cooperation, coordination, and accepting help from a foreign power is illegal under federal election law. The cooperation itself is an illegal but the fruits of that illegal activity are also crimes that could range from money laundering to obstruction of justice.

Rep. Speier was right. Trump’s collusion defense is a smokescreen"

Every Trump utterance raises the same three questions

Virtually every time President Trump speaks he raises three possibilities to explain his nonsensical, offensive or flat-out wrong assertions: 1) He doesn’t get basic concepts his aides and lawyers must have explained to him; 2) he understands and then forgets; or 3) he is showing contempt for voters’ intelligence and/or for our democratic system. We saw this play out in two episodes on Wednesday.

Trump administration opens door to let states impose Medicaid work requirements

The Trump administration issued guidance to states early Thursday that will allow them to compel people to work or prepare for jobs in order to receive Medicaid for the first time in the half-century history of this pillar of the nation’s social safety net.

The letter to state Medicaid directors opens the door for states to cut off Medicaid benefits to Americans unless they have a job, are in school, are a caregiver, volunteer or participate in other approved forms of “community engagement” — an idea that some states had broached over the past several years but that the Obama administration had consistently rebuffed.

The new policy comes as 10 states are already lined up, waiting for federal permission to impose work requirements on able-bodied adults in the program. Three other states are contemplating them. Health officials could approve the first waiver — probably for Kentucky — as soon as Friday, according to two people with knowledge of the process.

The guidance represents a fundamental and much-disputed recalibration of the compact between the government and poor Americans for whom Medicaid coverage provides a crucial pathway to health care.

OT"In 2010, Trump Jr. and a few business partners launched a CONcrete company, Titan Atlas Manufacturing, and purchased the warehouse, once owned by Lockheed Martin, as the headquarters for their new venture. The company went bust after four years, leaving Trump Jr. holding a $3.65 million Deutsche Bank loan, secured by the warehouse. That was when the elder Trump stepped in, creating a new company, DB Pace Acquisition, which he used to buy the loan from the German bank (which was also Donald Trump’s biggest lender). Trump then foreclosed on the loan, taking the building into his own possession and out of the hands of his son’s failed CONcrete business."

White House Caught Doctoring Transcript For Second Time

...A White House official said that any omission from the transcript was unintentional and that the context of the conversation was clear.

“Unintentional.” Sure it was. Just like it was last July.

This episode shows not just that the White House is dishonest, but that it’s stupid. Doctoring a transcript to remove the one line that everyone gasped at in real time is idiotic. Apparently one of the new tasks of the press in the Trump era is going to be scouring White House transcripts for errors. Unintentional though they may be, surely we’re all interested in keeping these historical records accurate. Right?

    The Voters Abandoning Donald Trump

According to previously unpublished findings, the blue-collar whites at the core of his coalition have lost faith over his first year in office.

...Many things could change between now and November’s election—much less 2020. But these detailed soundings show how the gales of resistance Trump has fueled are reshaping the electoral landscape. Whether by age, gender, race, or education, Trump is deepening almost every social and political division that existed before him—with unpredictable consequences for the parties and for the country itself.
