So the big news from yesterday was that Donald Trump is a racist. What, you already knew that?

Don Lemon is certainly not wrong here.

Courtesy of WaPo:

President Trump grew frustrated with lawmakers Thursday in the Oval Office when they discussed protecting immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries as part of a bipartisan immigration deal, according to several people briefed on the meeting.

“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump said, according to these people, referring to countries mentioned by the lawmakers.

Trump then suggested that the United States should instead bring more people from countries such as Norway, whose prime minister he met with Wednesday. The president, according to a White House official, also suggested he would be open to more immigrants from Asian countries because he felt that they help the United States economically.

In addition, the president singled out Haiti, telling lawmakers that immigrants from that country must be left out of any deal, these people said.

“Why do we need more Haitians?” Trump said, according to people familiar with the meeting. “Take them out.”

These remarks received universal condemnation from just about everybody, including Fox News.

But rather than apologize Trump did what Trump does best.

He denied he ever said it.
Yep, once again Trump claims that everybody else is lying, and only HE is the source of the actual truth.

Jim Comey lied, the Hollywood Access tape lied, author Michael Wolff lied, the Democrats lied, and all of those women making accusations of improper sexual contact are a bunch of damn liars.

Problem in this case of course is that Trump came to prominence by promoting the racist lie that Barack Obama was not born in America.

So I doubt there are many people willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this.

And of course right on schedule this morning the dumpster fire is denying he used the word ‘shithole.’ Do you believe him? I don’t. He’s been a racist bigot, foul-mouthed buffoon forever. He’s gonna change? Nope.

    1. Anonymous7:07 AM

swearing is often the sign of a low IQ and poor education. it is also a sign you dropped a can of fruit on your bare foot.

    2. Anonymous7:51 AM

7:07 Are you sure about that?

    3. Anonymous11:04 AM

7:07Actually, swearing has been shown to be doe more by intelligent people. But we do it appropriately, as adjectives, not noun and verb lol!

    4. I’d say the more educated you are, the larger your vulgar vernacular vocabulary.

  2. Anonymous6:18 AM

Again, more evidence of Trump is a pathological liar. I am glad there are people who catch on when anyone, Trump, claim that everyone else is a liar it is he who is the liar. This pattern is a red flag you are dealing with a pathalogical personality.

    1. Anonymous7:05 AM

i wonder if he believes his lies?

EXCLUSIVE: President cancels his visit to London and pulls out of opening new £750m US embassy blaming the Obama administration for 'a bad deal'
US President was expected to make his first trip to the UK since entering office

But Government officials have been told the president has gone cold on the idea

No new date has been offered, raising the prospect of a major diplomatic snub

Mr Trump tweeted that Obama sold the 'finest embassy in London for 'peanuts''

But US unveiled plans to move in 2008 when George W Bush was in White House

...In reply to Mr Trump's tweet today, former Labour leader Ed Miliband posted: 'Nope it's because nobody wanted you to come. And you got the message.'

Liberal Democrat Foreign Affairs spokesperson Jo Swinson said: 'News that Trump has thrown his toys out of the pram and cancelled his trip to the UK will be welcomed by all of us who reject his abhorrent views.

'But it's a disappointing sign of how weak May's leadership is that she wasn't brave enough to call the visit off herself.

'The Prime Minister should be ashamed that she was so keen to roll out the red carpet to a man who spreads hate and division at every turn, and goes out of his way to undermine British values.'

Labour MP Stephen Doughty said on Twitter: 'Reason Donald Trump cancelled trip to London is that we are not a big fan of his racist, sexist, unthinking behaviour.

'Big protests if he came to cut ribbon. He wanted the red carpet treatment and cheering crowds - NO!'

...Reports last night had said the president would not be attending because he was concerned about a hostile reception, a lack of "bells and whistles" and the fact he would not be able to meet the Queen.

Mr Trump then tweeted this morning to confirm he would indeed not be gracing the opening with his presence, and offered an explanation for his decision.

    1. Snub?

The U.K is heaving a sigh of relief they won’t have to deal with the Shithole Vulgarian.

When will this nightmare of a Presidency come to an end? Will we have to endure his insane rants, narcissistic pats on the back and constant lying until he finishes his first term? Surely, there must be some way, without violence, to remove his fat ass from the Oval Office.

Trump, the future U.S. president, signed the deed of sale.

Federal prosecutors charged a Russian native in 1984 with laundering the proceeds from a gasoline bootlegging operation through five Trump Tower condos purchased for $4.9 million.
"Trump Taj Mahal casino was charged under anti-money laundering regulations 106 times in 1990 and 1991 by failing to identify gamblers who bought or cashed out more than $10,000 in chips.

Those reports are required to help authorities identify gamblers who may be laundering money, and Trump’s casino paid a $477,000 fine to the Treasury Department in 1998 without admitting wrongdoing."

"rump crossed the 2,000 lie threshold on January 9, 2018, during his 355th day in office. For Trump, lying comes as naturally as breathing. Of course, he called countries with majority black and Latino populations “shitholes.” Such a comment is completely in line with Trump’s claims that Mexicans are rapists, Puerto Ricans are ungrateful, and African-Americans are lazy.

The repulsive compulsive liar wants the nation to believe that it is everyone else who is not telling the truth, but Trump’s “shithole” comment was a rare statement of truth about how he really feels about non-whites."

rump is a racist. It was clear on Thursday, when he made his remarks about Haiti, and it was clear last month, when he made his comments about Nigeria. It was clear when he went on his “birther” crusade against Barack Obama. It’s been clear for as long as he’s been in the public eye, from when he was investigated by the Department of Justice for housing discrimination in the 1970s to when he demanded execution for five black and Latino teenagers who had been accused, falsely, of attacking and a raping a white woman in New York City in the 1980s."
"Major news outlets may be slow to label Trump’s racism as such, but the president’s allies seem to both acknowledge the racism and see it as a political asset. “Staffers inside the White House aren’t that worried about Trump’s ‘shithole’ remark,” reported CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Twitter, “with some predicting it will actually resonate with his base, not alienate it, much like his attacks on NFL players who kneel during the national anthem did.”" 'rump is a racist'

Ex-CIA chief: Lady Liberty 'weeping' over Trump's 'atrocious' comments

Dan Rather on Trump's Haiti And African immigrants comment.

I wonder if people realize that, as recently as the 90s, calling dozens of other nations "shitholes" in a formal meeting of U.S. officials would have resulted in a president being censured by Congress—especially as the racist remark was preceded by comments about AIDS and "huts".

    1. Anonymous8:15 AM

FB>"Trump's comments about immigrants from "shithole countries" is among the worst statements he has ever uttered. It might very well be the worst.
To have this outrage come as we approach the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is to cast in sharp relief the moral gulf between America as envisioned by the civil rights activist and our current President. It was Dr. King who said "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." By all accounts, Mr. Trump does not now and has never believed in such an America.
This is undeniably and clearly outright racist. It simply cannot be allowed to continue by anyone who cares about the future of this country. This is sad. It is hurtful. It is dangerous. It is unpatriotic. Each elected official, each American, has a choice: where do you stand? Some may say this helps the President with his base. What about how it debases the values of our nation? This rhetoric has to be damned at every turn, at every time. That millions of hard working men, women, and children have lives that hang in the balance at the whims of this President only makes this moment all the more tragic. Make no mistake, America is diminished today in the eyes of the world and in the eyes of history. It will be up to every decent person to make sure that this is not our destiny."

3 days ago, Trump's lawyers said Trump wanted to negotiate the terms of a Mueller interview. I said it was a stunt—Trump wouldn't sit for an interview.

1 day ago, Trump said an interview "seemed unlikely."

It's not about me specifically—defense attorneys just know defendants.

CONCLUSION/ If you assume a) Mueller *will* demand an interview or testimony from Trump, and b) Trump *will* do whatever he must to avoid that, you will (c) have a *much* better understanding of where this is all headed than almost anyone in major media and all politics-watchers.

      Crime in El Salvador:
Organized crime in El Salvador is a serious problem. Efforts to understand or deal with this phenomenon in the small Central American country have been insufficient.
There are an estimated 25,000 gang members at large in El Salvador; another 9,000 are in prison. The best-known gangs, called maras in colloquial Salvadoran Spanish, are Mara Salvatrucha and their rivals Calle 18; maras are hunted by death squads, including Sombra Negra. Newer rivals include the rising mara, The Rebels 13. Criminal youth gangs dominate life in El Salvador; an estimation of at least 60,000 young people belong to gangs. El Salvador experiences some of the highest murder rates in Latin America; it is also considered an epicenter of the gang crisis, along with Guatemala and Honduras.

  36. Anonymous1:51 PM

    OMG, sickening.

'It was a debate that many journalists likely never expected to face: How to properly quote the president of the United States saying the words “s***hole countries”.

That dilemma played out in newsrooms around the world on Thursday after The Washington Post reported that Trump referred to Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “s***hole countries” while discussing immigrant protections with lawmakers.

The main daily newspapers in El Salvador, one of the countries maligned by the president, went with the translation “agujeros de mierda,” which essentially means “holes of s***.”

“Why do we have all these people from countries (who are a) hole of s*** coming here?” read Trump’s translated remarks, from the Spanish news agency EFE.

“It’s a bit literal,” one Spanish-speaking reader tweeted.

Deciding what to do with his remarks – and whether to censor them in news reports – was tough enough for the press in the US. It was, after all, a vulgar phrase not usually fit for a newspaper or television.

But imagine trying to make sense of it in a different language. Every culture has its profanities, to be sure, but they do not always translate well.

Alex Segura, Washington correspondent for EFE, tweeted about the debate with his editors over how to translate “the pearl of the day from Trump". Other options they considered for the phrase? “S***ty countries,” “unclean countries,” and “pigsties”, he said.

Another journalist, in Mexico, tweeted that he had debated at length with a least five editors over how to translate Trump’s comment into Spanish. “#LaEraTrump,” he said.'

Donald Trump's remark that African nations and Haiti are "s***hole countries" and that the US would be ill-advised to accept immigrants from them has continued to stir strong responses.

None more so than from the African Union (AU), which said it was "frankly alarmed" by the President's statement before addressing America's dark history in relation to the continent.

"Given the historical reality of how many Africans arrived in the United States as slaves, this statement flies in the face of all accepted behaviour and practice," AU spokeswoman Ebba Kalondo said. "This is particularly surprising as the United States of America remains a global example of how migration gave birth to a nation built on strong values of diversity and opportunity."
