Did you see former Green Party candidate Jill Stein essentially lose her shit on MSNBC yesterday?

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Speaking with MSNBC’s Alex Witt, the two-time nominee at times shouted over the host, after deflecting questions about Russian involvement in her campaign, saying she knew of only one post on her Facebook page out of “trillions” posted on the social media site.

As Witt attempted to ask the candidate if she was aware of Russian’s helping her campaign, Stein talked over the host, complaining that they should be discussing the “$6 billion dollars” in free advertising the networks gave to then-candidate Donald Trump.

“No, we were not aware,” Stein exclaimed. “Let me say we were aware of other kinds of interference. For example, we know that $6 billion in free air time was given to Donald Trump by the big networks. Six billion, this was twice as much as Hillary Clinton’s campaign and four times as much as Bernie Sanders’ campaign and way more than the independent candidates.”

“But it is not Russian interference, and I am proud to say that we had you on our broadcast several times and I had you on in person,” Witt reminded the former candidate.

“Donald Trump, he was damn good, that was the word — he was damn good for the networks even though he was not good for America.,” Stein pressed on, ignoring Witt. “The point I am making here, Alex, is we don’t want to miss the forest here through the trees. Yes, there was Russia interference but there was compelling interference going on by way of media and the DNC. Did the DNC did not rig the primaries?”

No they didn't.

And that conspiracy theory has already been debunked multiple times.

You know I could almost understand people supporting Bernie Sanders, I mean he seemed reasonable and intelligent.

But Jill Stein is a fucking lunatic.

Third party candidates, and protest votes, are a waste of time, and I hope after what we saw in 2016 that simple fact is now universally understood.

We are in war here, and standing on the sidelines, or backing a loser candidate to "make a point," is a luxury that we simply do not have.

She knows she and her campaign were facilitators to the Trump campaign. She sat at the same table with Putin and Flynn. She took their money.

She's as much a traitor as the rest of Trump's group.

Yep. Mueller's recent set of indictments have a lot of folks on edge. I was waiting for Stein to start breathing into a brown paper bag towards the middle of the interview.

LibraryMark, No, Hillary Clinton was not a "loser." She was the legitimate winner and she would have been an excellent president.

No, once again she was NOT the legitimate winner 6:46. She lost bigly, to Trump. He was the legitimate winner, therefore he is President.

Hillary will never ever be President.

Bernie Sanders was a traitor to the Independent voters. The Democrats should not have allowed him on the ticket as a democrat. His campaign hats were made in china. He had millions of followers and let them down. Both him and jill stole votes from Hilary.

If the DNC hadn't colluded with Clinton before the primaries to guarantee her the candidacy, and more Democrats had stepped up to the plate for the nomination, you would have likely had a different candidate than Hillary in the general, and Trump would not have been President.

As it was, Hillary and the DNC quashed all hopes of any other candidate, that is why long established Democrats didn't even bother to run, and team Hillary's corruption was there for all to see (further reinforcing the 3 decades of Clintonialism that people were soooooo tired of). This is all the fault of Hillary, the DNC, and willing participants in the blogosphere like Gryph.

    4. Superdelegates.

Explain to me why Clinton had the vote of so many Superdelegates before she even ran.

What is the purpose of the Superdelegates? To sway the Democratic party to nominate the candidate the leadership wants despite how the people vote. To control the outcome. How is that not "rigged"?

The RNC has their own system of rigging and they didn't use it to keep Trump OFF of the ticket. That is *their* sin in all of this.

And Bernie only ran against Hillary in the primaries. The DNC allowed Bernie to run on their ticket because they needed someone to run against Hillary. I'm sure Bernie was as surprised as anyone that he did as well as he did.

In the election it was Hillary and Trump. Bernie didn't take any votes from Hillary. He urged his supporters to vote for her.

Let's keep our eye on the real culprits here. It was the RUSSIANS interfering in our elections. They used anyone and anything to do so. You can't simply eliminate all other candidates except for Hillary to ensure she would win.

  11. With that sort of thinking we'll never develop a viable third party and we need one. The GOP is bad but the Democrats aren't much better. They both display contempt for voters, greed, are self-serving, etc. The GOP is just so much worse that they make the Democrats look good. Neither are the "public servants" we need.

Jill Stein may be a whacko but it isn't her fault the Russians used her. I guess she was just easier to target than Johnson.

It's like the guy that drew the Pepe the Frog comics. His frog was adopted by the White Supremacists. He couldn't stop it and he is not a party to it. They just took his frog and now it's a symbol for hate.

That Nazis took the Swastika from easter religion. It was also a traditional quilt pattern but you won't see it used any more.

I don't blame Jill Stein for running. That was her right. I don't blame her for the Russians using her for their own purposes in the campaign and I don't blame anyone for voting for the candidate of their choice.

This is not a two party system. We can have as many political parties as we like in this country. People should not be forced to choose between the Republicans or the Democrats if neither represents their beliefs and values nor acts in their best interests.

Ask the Dreamers how they feel about the Democrats now. I'll bet plenty of them will be looking for a third party once they are citizens and have the right to vote.

And there is no guarantee Hillary would get all of those votes if both Jill Stein and Johnson had dropped out of the race. Nor a guarantee that Hillary would win if Bernie Sanders had never run in the primaries.

I don’t even like Jill Stein and I think her campaign was a windfall for Trump, but she is absolutely right here— The media gave trump so much free air time and a much bigger platform—so much that it normalized him and gave him the appearance being more important than he really should have been. And if the extent of Russian interference in Stein’s campaign was just one Facebook post why even bring it up here? That’s journalism?
