DeleteLast night Maddow asked what I and surely many have wondered. Why did the Trump campaign, Trump, surround themselves with so many that had deep Russian ties? I am speculating the Trumps and Kushner we’re seeking to preserve Russian financing and may have been threatened that Russia would pull the plug. There may also be blackmail about money laundering activities. What is known is that Trump speaks positively praising Putin and the Trump team continue to deny Russia interfered in the election and lie they worked with Russia to defeat Clinton. Mueller may have the answers as to why.

All the power players in DC have known from the beginning that this ship would sink. They repigs are trying to get as much thru as fast as posible before it collapses. OT. An extreme right Republican I know told me she is with Trump on immigration because we already have too many people in our country. She added that immigrants think life can be better here. Then she truly stunned me by this: “Well, I GUESS (caps for emphasis in her tone), maybe SOME countries must be awful to want to come here.”

The US is in such short supply of workers. In so many states there are not enough bodies to fill the demand. Signs at every merchant's entry - hardware, restaurants, dry goods etc. and we know there is a looming nursing shortage growing.

The administrative staff can't find the damn light switches, started their meetings in the dark in January 2017, can't spell, can't implement a conference call, can't staff with 600 vacancies remaining after a year in charge, and sure can't find qualified applicants to fill slots - education secretary with no background in public school system, appointing lifetime judges with no trial record or experience, 23 year old to run opiod crisis, ghost-chasing lawyer with no trial background, and on and on.
An embarrassment world-wide, but even more a danger to the existence of what's left of our democracy.
Lie cheat and steal is the mantra of the right wing nut jobs, all the way to the bottom of the chain.

DeleteTwo hospital workers were discussing how “foreigners” were difficult to understand sometimes because of their accents. They then proceeded to use a disparaging tone saying “foreigner”. I wanted to say if it were not for people from other countries working in our hospitals we would be dying and having even lower ratings in the world.
Part of the nursing shortage now is hospitals wanting at least 80% of nurses to have an expensive BSN and not hiring LPN’s for last several years. This is driven to a have a determined level of care status.
I doubt it occurs to ignorant people that people from other countries predominantly are educated to speak at least two languages.
