Former FBI Director James Comey’s unreleased book has landed at the No. 1 spot on the Amazon best-sellers list just one day after he told President Trump that “the American people will hear my story very soon.”
Comey’s book, “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership," rocketed up the list over the weekend, after starting at No. 15 on Saturday.
The book is scheduled to be released on April 17.
The fired FBI director is expected to use the upcoming book tour to challenge attacks on him and the FBI by Trump and some Republicans.
Speaking of attacks it appears that Comey's book got a boost after this tweet from Trump.
In response Comey tweeted this out.Wow, watch Comey lie under oath to Senator G when asked “have you ever been an anonymous source...or known someone else to be an anonymous source...?” He said strongly “never, no.” He lied as shown clearly on @foxandfriends.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 18, 2018
You know I am going to go broke trying to keep up with all of these new must read books.Mr. President, the American people will hear my story very soon. And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not.— James Comey (@Comey) March 17, 2018
Stormy Daniels' lawyer says he has received hundreds of interview requests though, oddly enough, none from Fox News. Hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteWho wants to on that ReTard channel? Eye roll. ;)
DeleteEveryone's got a book to write before and after elections, especially one like the last. They sure are fast to get the ghostwriters on the books to cash in before the interest fades. Save your money.
ReplyDeleteComey's not "everyone." I can't wait to read his book.
DeleteGet it from a library if you don't want to pay for it. It's better to read a book that has little to offer, than to miss a book that contains something of value.
I expect Comey's book will fall into the latter category. He's a dedicated, professional, intelligent, hard-working man of genuine faith and integrity--everything his erstwhile boss Trump is not.
If you think Comey has nothing to teach you, you're wrong.
Lol. ok Jude. Sorry, not just a waste of money, but a waste of time. It is called cashing in. If you think he had some secret bit of information that would change the course of a nation, that as a "dedicated, professional, intelligent, hard-working man of genuine faith and integrity".... that he would sit on it for months, then bury it in a book and make you buy it?
DeleteSorry, but wasn't Comey also the most hated man in the room around 15-16 months ago? But now he is the most celebrated, a changed man, and has a book for you to buy... what a change of fate!

Stormy Daniels is a more intelligebt and attractive version of Wasilla's biggest whore.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty pathetic that Palin had to ask her Mar-a-Lago audience to pay attention to her speech Friday, and she actually said to them that she'd traveled two days to be there (so she'd appreciate the courtesy of listening).

The feedback loop of mentions can be like a drug. Your mentions and notifications slow down so you tweet again. Not enough? Be provocative. I honestly think Twitter is no longer edifying. The trolls have taken over and they're dragging everyone else down. I don't want to be a part of that. It is not good for my sanctification.
I value the flow of news that comes through Twitter. I probably cannot get away from it altogether because it is so useful for preparing my radio show.
Agreed.
But when he describes himself I have to ask what mirror he's looking into:
Twitter, like the President, brings out the worst in so many of us -- myself included. I know there are times when I can come off as a raging a--hole on Twitter even when it is not my intent. And then there is the temptation on occasion just to stir the pot.
The so-called president does what?
And by "us" he means?
And there are times when it IS his intent to "come off as a raging a--hole"?
According to a 2016 New Yorker article, Erickson regrets some of his "stirring of the pot" -- but he was playing the raging a-hole long before the Trump so-called presidency and even before Twitter:
Erick Erickson, the forty-one-year-old right-wing radio host and political pundit whom The Atlantic described in 2015 as “the most powerful conservative in America,” has made a career of online provocation. He became the editor-in-chief of the influential conservative blog RedState in 2006, a position he held for nearly a decade. In a 2008 blog post, he dubbed Michelle Obama a “Marxist harpy.” In a 2009 tweet, he called the retiring Supreme Court Justice David Souter “a goat f*cking child molester.” Later that year, Erickson argued that President Obama won the Nobel Prize because of an “affirmative action quota.” The 2014 Democratic gubernatorial candidate in Texas, Wendy Davis, was, in due time, “Abortion Barbie.”
"Twitter is no longer edifying. It brings out the worst in people and is bad for sanctification.
I have been thinking about this for a year. I think now is the time to pull the trigger. I have handed over my Twitter account to Philip (the managing editor here) who will be tweeting out links, etc. on my account while I figure out how I want to use Twitter, if at all.
Twitter used to be fun. I met new people and as we interacted more we became friends. But the signal to noise ratio has gotten out of whack. I changed my notification settings to only see notifications from people who follow me. That improved things a bit, but not significantly. Then I changed to seeing only people who I followed and who followed me.
But it just isn't the same and there's a nagging thought in the back of my head. Twitter, like the President, brings out the worst in so many of us -- myself included. I know there are times when I can come off as a raging a--hole on Twitter even when it is not my intent. And then there is the temptation on occasion just to stir the pot.

I value the flow of news that comes through Twitter. I probably cannot get away from it altogether because it is so useful for preparing my radio show. But for the next couple of weeks, I'm going to leave it alone. I've deleted the app from my phone. I've deleted the stand alone apps from my Mac. I invited some of my friends into a Slack group that perhaps can serve as one of the twelve steps away from Twitter addiction.
Honestly, the only social media I like is Instagram and it is where I try to avoid political posts. If I have something to say, I'll say it here."
Well, it was quite something to see that Trump had seated Sessions next to Melania today in NH and also gave him a special shout out during his remarks to the crowd. Trump was feeling good about the McCabe firing. He must be feeling confident that Sessions will not stand in the way on anything to come.
ReplyDeleteFor the love of Mike, I will never understand how anyone can stand to watch him, even to critique.

I find there's generally no reason to add any of these political books to my Kindle reader app because I get all the juicy parts from various political blogs, even sooner than I'd find the time to actually read them :-)

ReplyDeleteDavid Dennison aka Cadet bone spurs and friends should turn the channel from fox no news. Its the only channel that is not reporting the real story. The only one. Fcc should cut off the station and expose them.
ReplyDeleteChaos. That sums up Trump and America right now. We have a so called President who attacks people daily, you would think he has better things to do with his time because that is what we expect from someone who is President.
ReplyDeleteRemember when America was not a reality tv show? and we did not have a President who name called like a butt hurt spoiled prima donna? [ Insert Palin here} .
Yeah, i want our dignity back because i am sick of it. America deserves more and we should demand more. For all who fought and died in all the wars to end up with President " Bone spur" who thinks he is Nero is beyond the pale.
ah, but Nero died on his sword. don't think we can get trump to do that. i'd pay big money for a good seat.

ReplyDeleteI am on facebook and ignore all their political shit. They are not bad people just stupid. They bitch about "free rides " all the while taking them.
Seems to me you either get off Facebook or ignore the crap. Facebook was meant for people to keep in touch and now it has become a land mine.I am asking, what our your thoughts Immoral Minority people.
I currently don't do any social media. Had a facebook account from 06-09 but it just wasn't my thing, same reason as you, didn't need to hear from relatives who were staunch conservatives with nothing productive to say.
DeleteImmediate family and I stay in touch through text and talk as none of them are on social media either.
The few friends I have we contact via talk or text.
My husband has a facebook because he needs it for work but he's also different that I in that he keeps in touch with some of his mates he went to school with and I've just never been one to to remain friends with folks that no longer live near.
You shouldn't feel pressured to partake if you don't like it.
It is time to get off FB. It took me a bit to wise up to the fact that all the personality tests and quizzes were traps to see how smart you are and what your beliefs are. Humans seem to corrupt nearly as that is good to give an advantage to oppress others. We have a lot of evolving to still do.
DeleteReading some of my relatives Facebook posts has become a depressing exercise. My opinion of their intelligence has been lowered and that saddens me. If I do go on Facebook now, I just skip over those particular individuals' political rants.

I have a feeling people are going to be disappointed. They’re going to be hoping for something juicy, like insider info that was given to Mueller about Trump and that’s not going to be in there. It will have a lot of stuff about honesty and integrity with stories from previous administrations to illustrate them, stuff about how the FBI works and how his personal code of honor has guided him throughout his career. I have no doubt it will be a riveting read. I just don’t think it’s going to live up to the hype. So a good book, but probably disappointing.
