On Tuesday, White House Communications Director Hope Hicks reportedly admitted to the House Intelligence Committee that she’s told “white lies” for President Donald Trump. On Wednesday, she announced her resignation.
A new report suggests the two developments may not be unrelated.
According to CNN, Trump was furious with the head of his communications shop following her testimony. In a report presented on OutFront with Erin Burnett, the host (citing an unnamed person identified as a Trump ally) said that the president “berated” Hicks following her testimony on Tuesday.
“That source telling me Hicks departure was sudden,” Burnett continued. “The source saying Trump berated Hicks after her testimony to Congress yesterday, you know, the nine hours in which she admitted to telling lies on behalf of the president.”
“According to the source, Trump asked Hicks after the testimony, how she could she be so stupid,” Burnett continued. “And apparently that was the final straw for Hope Hicks.”
Of course the official story is that Hicks has been planning this move for quite some time now, but no reporter had even hinted at that. And for the leakiest White House in America's history that simply did not pass the smell test.
So if this report is correct that Hicks was Trump's "last emotional crutch," and that she is abruptly leaving him high and dry after he berated her, I have no idea how much worse things are about to get inside that White House.
In 2 weeks at most the orange shitspot will have snuck out the back door.

I wish I could feel sorry for her, but, at age 29, you really should have some ability to judge people. After all, she worked for Ivanka and had plenty opportunity to see Trump in action.

I got the impression from somethings her family said a while back, that she is like an immature 14 year old falling in love and impressed with a cult leader. She may have come to a little but did not know how to leave. The FBI has helped her.

In fairness, Hicks worked for two PR companies after college before Ivanka hired her away to work for her. Trump chose Hicks to be on his campaign team and she was given an apartment in Trump Tower. This was a big opportunity for a career minded young woman that could secure other opportunities as others have from a position in the White House. While true she had no political experience she was not a model hand picked by Donald Trump who had no experience in business nor uneducated. Her last modeling job was at age sixteen years.
DeleteThe big story is that yet another prominent staff member has left post another White House scandal of Rob Porter who also lacked high security clearance. Hannity, Fox spin, is the media followed her, the House Intel committee slandered her (I heard no slander) so she resigned.

I see Trump as definitely mentally ill. He’s always been a slave to his ego, and now he has put himself into a situation where is in WAY over his head. I can imagine his terror, if I try. If Trump had the ability to shut up and listen, he may have been able to be a decent human being, if he were inclined.
But Pence? He knew damn well what Trump was, and used him in the hopes of becoming president someday. Pence and his gang of radical Christians are nuts. They’ll do more damage, and look better doing it than Trump.
If by some miracle we get rid of both Pence and Trump in one blow/indictment, then president falls to the speaker of the house. You get President Paul Ryan.
