Gary Cohn, Trump's top economic adviser, quits. Update!

Courtesy of New York Times:

Gary D. Cohn, President Trump’s top economic adviser, plans to resign, becoming the latest in a series of high-profile departures from the Trump administration, White House officials said on Tuesday.

The officials insisted there was no single factor behind the departure of Mr. Cohn, who heads the National Economic Council. But his decision to leave came after he seemed poised to lose an internal struggle amid a Wild West-style process over Mr. Trump’s plan to impose large tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.

“Gary has been my chief economic adviser and did a superb job in driving our agenda, helping to deliver historic tax cuts and reforms and unleashing the American economy once again,” Mr. Trump said in a statement to The New York Times. “He is a rare talent, and I thank him for his dedicated service to the American people.”

Mr. Cohn is expected to leave in the coming weeks. He will join a string of recent departures by senior White House officials, including Mr. Trump’s communications director and a powerful staff secretary.

"Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust, yeah
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust"

I have never read an actual report on how long after the first rat jumped off of the Titanic before the last one joined him, but if this White House is any indication, it was not long after.

I would not be surprised right now to learn that the main activity inside Trump's White House involves staffers printing off copies of their resume.

Oddly enough this guy does not seem to recognize what is happening around him.
You know the worst lie you can tell, is the one you tell yourself.

Update courtesy of Blomberg:

President Donald Trump demanded economic adviser Gary Cohn’s cooperation on tariffs in a meeting in the Oval Office Tuesday -- asking Cohn directly if he would support his decision to move forward with the plan.

Cohn would not offer his support, according to two people familiar with the episode -- and just hours later, the White House announced Cohn’s resignation.

I figured something like this is what happened.

Some leaders like to surround themselves with experts to provide help with difficult decision making.

Trump surrounds himself with sycophants who are immediately fired once their lips dare to leave his ass.

People in the Trump administration are realizing that having that experience on their resume' is going to be about as helpful as having worked as a counter clerk at the Venus XXX Video Emporium.

Well gee, you know what you gotta do - if you have the misfortune to have an (R) congresscritter, get on his/her ass to get on T.Rumps. Or, send your bullying (but legal) comments directly to the White House. And in each one, be sure to note the shortfingeredness of the Illegitimate Occupier of the Oval Office (IOOO)

Trump is a lousy actor. He is a fake and fraud. He will go down in flames like the orange red color of his fake hair. A blaze of ignorance. He does not know how to be decent or tell the truth. Everyone in this entire world is laughing at a strange ugly dotard making a complete ass out of himself and everyone associated with him. What a evil clown he is. I am not sure how Mr. Mueller will put an end to this nasty dirty kgb con job. But the world will be watching thankful and happy. Never have we witnessed such a disgrace as dumbshit Donald John Trump and KGB agent Val Putin. A couple of REAL shitholes.

Agreed. Now that so many news outlets are calling the Trump White House chaotic, I’ve read on CNN how much Trump is publicly embracing that label.

He’s said that he truly enjoys chaos and pitting his aides against each other because he “likes to watch it”. That sounds borderline sociopathic to me. I can’t imagine EVER encouraging drama and then enjoying it. It’s insane and so damaging to the people being manipulated.

Here's a question for all the Trump supporters. Do you want your kids to emmulate Trump? Do you want your kids to go on Twitter and call people names or do you think Trump is an example of how a decent society should act.

Remember when being President used to be a class act? Not so long ago, in fact it just ended with Trump.

We have fallen so far that i am expecting Melania to get a huge butt and pose in a thong on a beach and then here about how hot she is. Trump and his escort wife are a reflection on the United States Of America and i for one am embarassed by it all.

They believe 100% that they are chosen. Isn't that fucked? They have made literal the transcendent. How royally fucked is that delusion????? The nature of their very existence has been decapitated from truth.

So, that's what youre up against. By the way, that's why they insist on guns, to protect this systemic error, because if you force it it becomes true after a while. BTW that's what the Nicene Creed accomplished as Christianity was force-fed down the europeans' throats, or they were killed!!! Seems like ISIS IS the Republican Party.

Well, there's a certain amount of truth to the getting "a piece of the Oval Office" in that statement. There has never been a less qualified, less able Cabinet in US history. Also there have never been Cabinet members and other federal agency heads more corrupt and self serving. Trump sure knows how to surround himself with people just like himself. Greedy and corrupt and immoral and totally uncaring about upholding the Constitution and about doing their jobs well. All they want is their "personal" share of the American pie.
