New indications emerge that Donald Trump is preparing to have Robert Mueller fired.

Courtesy of Politico:

When President Donald Trump lashed out against Robert Mueller by name earlier this month, the president’s supporters sprang into action — treating the chief Russia investigator to political campaign-style opposition research.

Within hours, the Drudge Report featured a story blaming Mueller, the special counsel leading the Justice Department’s Russia probe, for the FBI’s clumsy investigation into the 2001 anthrax attacks when Mueller ran the bureau. The independent pro-Trump journalist Sara Carter posted a story charging that Mueller, as a federal prosecutor in Boston in the mid-1980s, had covered up the FBI’s dealings with the Mafia informant Whitey Bulger. Carter was soon discussing her findings in prime time with Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Meanwhile, Trump supporters on Twitter circulated video of testimony Mueller gave to Congress ahead of the 2003 Iraq War in which he endorsed the view, later proved false, that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction.

To some, the barrage looked coordinated among pro-Trump allies and media outlets, a concerted effort to tarnish Mueller’s reputation as part of a political strategy to undermine, or even eventually fire, the Russia investigator.

“It looks like the beginnings of a campaign,” a source familiar with Trump’s legal strategy said. “It looks like they are trying to seed the ground. Ultimately, if the president determines he wants to fire Mueller, he’s going to want to make sure there’s ample public record that he can fall back on.”

There is no longer any question as to whether or not Trump will try to fire Robert Mueller, but rather WHEN he will try to fire Robert Mueller.

I actually think that these most recent firings are all designed to provide cover for Trump to fire Rod Rosenstein and Jeff Sessions, in the hopes that the media will not immediately realize that it was his goal all along.

If Trump is "shaking up" his cabinet then he can say that Sessions and Rosenstein were just part of his reshuffling, but in fact we all know that the real reason to remove them is so that he can take Mueller out.

She was dead when she gave birth? That explains a lot.

Remember, his parents were not pro Donald and sent him off to school - getting him out of their home! He was a difficult kid to handle is the bottom line. Plus, he wasn't smart.

Money has gotten him everything - he hasn't done a fucking thing to earn a dime of it. His Dad left him wealthy - wish he'd not provided him a 'red' cent! We would have all been so much better off!

If they were still in office, Trump would have to persecute half the government who believed the lie that Iraq had WMDs. Start with Bush peeking behind the White House drapes and continue with Colin Powell and Hillary Clinton.

As far as that goes, what was Trump's position (as a real estate con man) at that time?

If Trump does this, I hope they impeach his sorry ass. He knows he is guilty as Hell and is going to jail - as well as being impeached!

    1. They won't. Which is why he'll have to do it before November 2018 and he new congress is sworn in. At this rate he is going to lose his majority in both houses.

More imperative now that Congress move to protect Mueller.

And then Trump will try to cover his ass by pardoning himself, which is insane. He may realize that will amount to admitting to a crime. Doubt he will see a problem with that until he does it.

He thinks he is a king. Can you say “Constitutional crisis”? Trump can’t, but he may learn.

Laura Ingraham Has Lost 3 Of Her Top 12 Advertisers To David Hogg’s Boycott

Three of the top 12 advertisers on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show have bolted in response to a boycott that was caused by the host attacking Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg.

    Ingraham tweeted about Hogg:

...The Parkland kids aren’t afraid. They are mustering a non-partisan force in our culture that is bigger than Fox News, the Republican Party, and the NRA. Ingraham didn’t apologize because she was wrong. She apologized because one-quarter of her advertisers have bolted in less than a day. Nothing will get a Fox News host canned faster than an advertiser boycott.

Lauren Hogg, the sister of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student David Hogg, ripped into Laura Ingraham after the talk show host issued an apology to her brother in the wake of a growing advertiser boycott.

Hogg took to Twitter on Thursday to bash the Fox News host for only apologizing to her brother after several sponsors announced that they were leaving her show.

“Waits till we boycott her advertisers to apologize,” she wrote. “Wow.”

Hogg then went on to offer Ingraham some future career advice.

“Hey Laura Ingraham, please just be a real journalist,” she said. “Focus on the important stories and use your platform to help people not hurt them.”

"the past month, exiting White House communications director Hope Hicks hasn’t been in the West Wing that often. As Thursday was her final day on staff, she’s leaving the president officially without his longest serving staffer. It also seems, her absence hasn’t gone unnoticed by the president.

Sources told White House CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins that President Donald Trump has spent the past several weeks bellowing for Hope Hicks to summon her to the Oval Office,
only to find she isn’t there."

Wayfair drops Laura Ingraham show after she mocked Parkland survivor

...But her apology did not stop at least three companies from parting ways with her show. U.S. celebrity chef Rachael Ray’s pet food line Nutrish, travel website TripAdvisor (TRIP.O) and online home furnishings seller Wayfair Inc (W.N) all said they were canceling their advertisements.

Wayfair said it supports open dialogue and debate, but “the decision of an adult to personally criticize a high school student who has lost his classmates in an unspeakable tragedy is not consistent with our values,” it said in a statement.

Replying to Hogg’s boycott call, Nutrish tweeted: “We are in the process of removing our ads from Laura Ingraham’s program.”

A representative for the pet food line did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.

CNBC cited a TripAdvisor spokesman as saying the company does not condone “inappropriate comments” made by Ingraham that in its view “cross the line of decency.”

Aww, poor little goldigger. I don't understand what is stopping her from just leaving him.

She could certainly find another man to support her and Barron and lead a somewhat normal life. I'm pretty sure that her boyfriend, the security guy from Tiffanys, must make enough to provide her with a decent existence.
Could it be that she wants more though? That's what I think, she just can't live a normal life and being Mrs. Trump #3, while unpleasant on so many fronts, still keeps her in $20,000 coats and $15,000 suits, which it seems likely she can't live without.

Screw her, I hope she is unhappy.

Mueller probing Russia contacts at Republican convention: sources

...Mueller’s team has been asking about a convention-related event attended by both Russia’s U.S. ambassador and Jeff Sessions, the first U.S. senator to support Trump and now his attorney general, said one source, who requested anonymity due to the ongoing investigation.

Another issue Mueller’s team has been asking about is how and why Republican Party platform language hostile to Russia was deleted from a section of the document related to Ukraine, said another source who also requested anonymity.

Mueller’s interest in what happened at the Republican convention in Cleveland, Ohio in July 2016, is an indication that Trump campaign contacts and actions related to Russia remain central to the special counsel’s investigation.

JEFF SESSIONS just concluded there is NO NEED for a 2nd special prosecutor to look into the FBI or FISA courts on matters relating to Russia investigations.

THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE TRUMP TO HAVE A SCREAMING RAGE FIT, and I'll bet he has Pruitt replace Sessions late Friday night.

Attorney General position requires Senate approval, but since Pruitt already passed, he can just appoint him

EITHER THAT, or he will wait til Congress is in recess so they can't respond quickly.

If Pruitt replaces Sessions, and the Pruitt fires Mueller, Rosenstein will quit in protest, and the Saturday night massacre of the Nixon era will have played out

From that point, only Paul Ryan can do anything, and he probably won't as he's a shill for anything that will lower taxes or cut Social Security

Democrats would have to file suit in Federal Court to try and continue Mueller's work.

    1. I don't think it's that easy. Pruitt got Senate approval for his current position. If he is moved to DOJ I think he has to go through the process again.

If Congress goes into recess and they all go home, there will be riots at all of their offices and homes if Trump has Mueller fired. Congress will haul their asses back to D.C. right quick if only to avoid their constituents' torches, pitchforks and vats of steaming tar and baskets of feathers.

"“Certainly, there were enough issues that were important to the Russians in Seattle—the naval bases, Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon,” says John Sipher, a former CIA officer who worked closely with the FBI on counterespionage issues. “There was always nervousness within the national security agencies that the sheer number of ethnic Russians in these industries was something the Russians could take advantage of. I don’t know if closing Seattle was a strategic choice; nonetheless, the concentration of high-tech and military resources makes it a sensible target.”"
