Parkland students are completely underwhelmed by visit from Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’s visit to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., where a shooter killed 17 people and left many others wounded, was met with criticism by some students.

After news broke that DeVos would be going to the Florida school on Wednesday, a number of students took to social media to express their thoughts, with some talking about a walkout.

Here were some of the student responses:

Now there was one visit that the students WERE excited about.
Also courtesy of The Hill:

NBA star Dwyane Wade on Wednesday visited Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., to meet with students who survived the mass shooting there less than a month ago.

“I just wanted to come and say I’m inspired by all of you. I’m proud to say I’m from this state because of you guys,” Wade told a group of students gathered around him.

The Miami Heat guard stopped by the school just hours after Education Secretary Betsy DeVos visited.

These students clearly recognize when somebody is genuinely impressed with who they are and is concerned with their well being.

And when somebody is simply using them for a photo op.

Florida Legislature Passes Bill Allowing Guns On Campus

In a 67-50 vote on Wednesday, the Florida House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 7026 with an amendment that would allow certain school staff members in the state to carry firearms.

Lawmakers had been rushing to pass the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act before the end of the state’s legislative session on Friday. The state Senate had already passed the bill with amendments on Monday, but Gov. Rick Scott (R) still needs to sign it before it goes into effect.

Scott has expressed hesitancy over allowing guns in schools and has not said whether he will veto SB 7026 or not.

DeVos is despised throughout our county. She has no clue how to do her job and has zero experience for it.

Trump picked her, not the American population. Proved himself, once again, to be a total idiot!

She was a political appointment because her brother tried to set up a back channel between trump and Putin so trump could continue to commit treason by slipping secrets to Russia.

DeVos is an ideologue with a crazy agenda. She is a byproduct of her creep brother Erik Prince, who is always on the make. He was just unmasked as a treasonous bastard trying to set up back-channel links for Vlad Poutine and the lump of lard Trump.

What Happened in Moscow: The Inside Story of How Trump’s Obsession With Putin Began

His 2013 visit paved the way for a scandal that shook the world.

...From the moment five months earlier when Trump announced Miss Universe would be staged that year in Moscow, he had seemed obsessed with the idea of meeting the Russian president. “Do you think Putin will be going to The Miss Universe Pageant in November in Moscow—if so, will he become my new best friend?” Trump had tweeted in June.

Once in Moscow, Trump received a private message from the Kremlin, delivered by Aras Agalarov, an oligarch close to Putin and Trump’s partner in hosting the Miss Universe event there: “Mr. Putin would like to meet Mr. Trump.” That excited Trump. The American developer thought there was a strong chance the Russian leader would attend the pageant. But as his time in Russia wore on, Trump heard nothing else. He became uneasy.

“Is Putin coming?” he kept asking.

With no word from the Kremlin, it was starting to look grim. Then Agalarov conveyed a new message. Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s right-hand man and press spokesman, would be calling any moment. Trump was relieved, especially after it was explained to him that few people were closer to Putin than Peskov. If anybody could facilitate a rendezvous with Putin, it was Peskov. “If you get a call from Peskov, it’s like you’re getting a call from Putin,” Rob Goldstone, a British-born publicist who had helped bring the beauty contest to Moscow, told him. But time was running out. The show would be starting soon, and following the broadcast Trump would be departing the city.

Finally, Agalarov’s cellphone rang. It was Peskov, and Agalarov handed the phone to an eager Trump.

"The video begins with a woman Trump supporter asking a store staff member if she really thinks “I’m racist because I support our president?”

“Yes, basically, yes,” the staff member replies.

A male Trump supporter, wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat," “Trump is going to get rid of all you pieces of sh*t.”

He also called the woman who worked at the book store an “anti-white racist piece of sh*t” and said that the only people who shopped at the store were

I was raised to be respectful, thoughtful, honest and believing. I learned at a young age that will not always be in my best interest. I still hold this in my heart.
I am so proud of the young people standing up, speaking up and demanding ADULTS be honest. Their future depends on action today. Make them honest. I stand with the kids and I feel 17 again.
Betsy and Eric are trump swamp things. The demise of Our public school system, teacher pay, and overall decline is due to the voucher system design to take money away from public and shift to crooks in the many private schools. The betsy private school scam has become criminal. The kids are brainwashed and the ceo steals the money and disappears. I hope all USA citizens send their kids to public schools, join the PTA, get involved and bring our school system back to excellent. Academics over Sports.

Florida Rep: Why Should We Listen To Children About This Law?

Florida state Rep. Elizabeth Porter did a little performance piece yesterday to protect her perfect record of voting against anything that smacks of gun control.

“We've been told to listen to children, and do what the children ask. Are there any children on this floor? Are there any children making laws? Do we allow the children to tell us we should pass a law that says no homework, or you finish high school at the age of 12 just because you want it so?

"No, the adults make the laws. Because we have the age, we has the wisdom, we have the experience. "

She also believes in the medicinal benefits of psilocybin.

“I think people should be informed about what they are consuming, and they shouldn’t have to be afraid of going to jail for that.”
"The ballot measure has many hurdles to clear before it becomes law. Activists and city officials worked on finalizing the language of the measure this week.

Supporters will then create a petition and submit it for approval to the Denver Elections Division.

The campaign could then begin gathering signatures to qualify the measure for the November ballot."
