The lawyer for adult film actress Stormy Daniels, who says she had sex with Donald Trump in 2006, has filed a motion in federal court asking for permission to depose the president and his lawyer, Michael Cohen.
The move comes amid a lawsuit against Trump, alleging that he never signed a nondisclosure agreement that his lawyer had arranged with Daniels, and just days after a revealing interview on CBS' "60 Minutes" in which she detailed an alleged affair with the married mogul and claimed she was threatened in 2011 if she went public.
The request was filed late Tuesday in a Los Angeles court and will be heard on April 30, Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, tweeted Wednesday morning.
Boy if Trump had any lawyers left they would be freaking out about now.
Especially since Trump, as pointed out over at NPR, is notorious for coming to depositions unprepared, and for not following his lawyer's advice:
Records of President Trump's past depositions show a familiar pattern of boasting, sometimes battling opponents and giving little deference to factual details — pitfalls that could all come into play in various legal cases before too long.
In deposition transcripts over the years, Trump comes across as uninterested in details, unfamiliar with legal documents and occasionally impatient. One theme that emerges is preparation. Baum, in the 2016 session, asked Trump what he did to prepare.
Baum: What did you do to prepare for the case today, for the deposition?
Trump: I would say virtually nothing. I — I spoke with my counsel for a short period of time. I just arrived here, and we proceeded to the deposition.
Baum: Thank you. So you didn't look at any documents or...
Trump: No, I didn't.
Baum: ...anything.
I CANNOT even begin to imagine how badly Trump might screw up this deposition.
All I know for certain is that I do not want to miss it when it happens.
I read Propose.
ReplyDeleteIt says Depose.

It seems that Cohen is somehow now claiming that tRump was not part of the NDA?! So why is he suing Stormy for $20,000,000?

DeleteCNN legal analyst reveals how Michael Cohen’s poorly drafted NDA could lead to Trump’s criminal prosecution
ReplyDelete...“I think this arbitration clause and this entire nondisclosure agreement was so poorly drafted that now Stormy Daniels’ legal team does have a solid legal argument that there was never any deal in place,” Pate continued. “That is an issue that a federal judge has to pass on before the case is sent to arbitration. So, yes, now that there’s an issue for the federal judge, it is realistic and understandable to request some limited discovery, including depositions of the people who supposedly were parties to this agreement.”
Juana Summers, a senior political writer for CNN, explained that the polls on this don’t exactly matter when it comes to addressing the morality of Trump.
“I think if more of this comes out, if the president does indeed have to go and be deposed, that it could speak to his credibility, his character,” she explained. “I think the bigger question here is what whether or not there is actually a legal question here. If Stormy Daniels was paid money by Michael Cohen for reasons related to the presidential campaign, then that goes into campaign finance territory, and that could have significant ramifications for this White House.”

Judge rules emoluments case against Trump improperly profiting off of his hotels can move forward
ReplyDeleteAccording to Bloomberg, Judge Peter Messitte in Greenbelt, Maryland, rejected the Justice Department’s argument to dismiss the lawsuit.
The ruling was a huge blow for Trump, who swears there are no conflicts of interest and no violations of the Constitution’s emoluments clauses. Detractors say, however, that world leaders and influential political organizations and leaders are actively using the Trump hotel near the White House in a way that helps the Trump family profit.

...The ruling is a setback for Trump, who has said that he has no conflicts of interest and is not in violation of the U.S. Constitution’s emoluments clauses. Those provisions substantially prohibit a president from receiving gifts from a foreign government without the permission of Congress and from being similarly enriched domestically. Trump, the founder of the Trump Organization, is worth $2.9 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Donald Trump Jr sobbed after his wife busted his plan to impregnate ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ mistress: report
ReplyDeleteDonald Trump Jr. planned to leave his wife Vanessa, the mother of his five children, to start a second family with mistress Aubrey O’Day, Us Weekly reports.
Trump Jr. met the reality star and C-list reality TV contestant in 2011 when she appeared on Celebrity Apprentice with once-popular entertainers like Arsenio Hal and Debbie Gibson.
And like his father, the eldest Trump son apparently did not use condoms during his extra-marital dalliances.
“Don told Aubrey he wanted to have a baby with her,” the insider says. “They were trying for one.”
The relationship ended in March 2012 when Vanessa found email exchanges between her husband and O’Day and called the woman to confront her with her kids on the phone.
“He’d call Aubrey and leave long voicemails telling her he still loved her over and over,” a source tells Us Weekly. “He’d cry and say he was nervous his wife would take the kids away.”
As with other low-level celebrities involved in affairs with the Trumps, O’Day is now apparently ready to speak out. Watch the video below to see a clip from a new music video in which she not-so-subtlety calls out her former lover and his soon-to-be-ex.

WATCH: MSNBC’s Joe and Mika hint that Melania may be close to leaving the White House over Stormy Daniels
ReplyDeleteJoe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski hinted they’re hearing from inside sources that President Donald Trump is worried the first lady might be planning to leave the White House.
Brzezinski suggested in an earlier segment that Melania Trump may have signed a non-disclosure agreement with her husband, like adult film star Stormy Daniels — the “Morning Joe” co-hosts later said the president may be uncharacteristically silent on the matter out of fear for his wife.
“Melania Trump wields so much power at this point in time,” Brezinski said. “She could make a decision that would stop Trump in his tracks on many levels, especially if she decides to leave the White House.”
The co-hosts famously gossip during commercial breaks about topics they’re unable to address during the broadcast, and Scarborough hinted they may be hearing some particularly juicy gossip from their White House sources.
“Everybody that we’ve spoken with over the past three or four days, trying to figure out what’s going on in the White House all go back — it all goes back to Melania Trump,” Scarborough said.
“Everybody says that so much of what you were seeing,” he continued, “so much of the inaction you were seeing and so much of the fear you were seeing coming from Donald Trump has to do with Melania Trump and the consequences on both their personal life and also their political life — mainly for Donald Trump their political life.”

So why is Sarah so silent? She only puts down the high school students who did the march last week end. If she wants to respond and counter the students and the issues of the March For Our Life she needs to stand up and give wisdom and passion of the her and the gun lobby's side.

GOP Congressman Calls Out His Own Party And Evangelicals For Silence On Stormy Daniels Scandal
ReplyDelete...Speaking to CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Tuesday, Republican Pennsylvania Rep. ReplyDeletehttps://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-loses-first-skirmish-suit-165302589.html
"President Donald Trump will have to contend for now with a lawsuit claiming he is improperly profiting from his posh downtown Washington hotel.
U.S. District Judge Peter Messitte in Greenbelt, Maryland, on Wednesday rejected one of the Justice Department’s arguments that he dismiss the lawsuit. The judge said he’ll schedule another hearing to consider other claims by the government.
The ruling is a setback for Trump, who has said that he has no conflicts of interest and is not in violation of the U.S. Constitution’s emoluments clauses. Those provisions substantially prohibit a president from receiving gifts from a foreign government without the permission of Congress and from being similarly enriched domestically."
"The case is one of three filed against the president over the clauses. A New York federal court rejected one pursued by the progressive watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, or CREW, in December. Trump has moved to dismiss the third, lodged in a Washington trial court by dozens of Democratic lawmakers led by U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut."
Trump is such a legal train wreck is it any wonder he can't find lawyers willing to work for him.
