Donald Trump wants to pull troops out of Syria, put them on the Mexican border instead.

Courtesy of The Hill:

President Trump on Tuesday signaled that he wants to pull U.S. troops out of Syria, but said no final decision has been made.

“I want to get out. I want to bring those troops home," Trump said at a news conference with leaders from Baltic states.

"Seven trillion dollars in the Middle East over the last 17 years, we get nothing out of it … except death and destruction. It’s a horrible thing.”

The president pointed to America's success in combating the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terror group in the region, adding that he will consult with his advisers and foreign leaders about the American military presence in the war-torn nation.

Now I think that a lot of us would like to see the troops brought home from overseas, including from Syria.

However keep in mind that Putin has made it known that HE wants the American troops out of the way, so if Trump brings them home rest assured that he is not doing it for the troops or for the American people.

So where DOES Trump want to send the troops?

Funny you should ask.

Courtesy of Politico:

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he intended to deploy troops along the U.S.-Mexico border until a wall was built there, proposing an escalation of efforts to prevent people from entering the country illegally via the southern border.

The move would ramp up Trump’s battle over immigration, after he has run into hurdles carrying out his campaign-trail promise to build a wall at Mexico’s expense. Most recently, he has been preoccupied by a group of migrants, mostly from Honduras, making their way north through Mexico toward the U.S.

“We are going to be guarding our border with our military. That’s a big step,” Trump said on Tuesday during a session at the White House with the leaders of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. “We cannot have people flowing into our country illegally, disappearing and, by the way, never showing up for court.”

I'm sorry did I miss the memo?

When did we declare war on Mexico?

Keep in mind that pulling the troops out of Syria would please Trump's puppet master Vladimir Putin to no end, while placing the military on the border to defend America against people wanting to work here will please his xenophobic deplorable base.

In other words Trump is clearly trying to please to different constituencies.

Trump also seems to be getting very sensitive about allegations that he is Putin's bitch.
"Probably nobody's been tougher to Russia than Donald Trump."

Please, the only person who has been a bigger sycophant to Vladimir Putin is probably the guy who oils him up before he poses for those bare chested magazine covers and calendar pages.

Trump is not even trying to give the appearance that he isn't Putin's butt boy anymore.

So why the fuck is he still in the White House?

The dumbass voters may not know what's going on and still support him but Congress and their puppet masters know what's going on and what the fallout will be if Trump continues on his course. You do know we were never asked to have US Military deploy to Syria right? Were have been asked to leave that country a couple of times by its fairly elected leader. We are considered adversaries in Syria. President Assad has asked us to remove our troops a couple of times even just recently. Syria & Assad were considered friendlies during the Iraq War G W Bush started, We even use to send captured enemies there to be tortured in their prisons. Then some thing happened 'the Arab Spring' which we instigated over there in the ME. Syria is also home to Russian bases a couple of them have been there many many years. Things are a bit complicated when you look into Syria and our country.

Agreed. The Us basically has always had a detente relationship with Syria. They had their dictator President and as long as he didn't fuck up that was fine with the US. But the Obama Admin ushered in quite a bit of weirdness with their foreign policy. Assad? Gaddafi? What was the purpose of interfering and destabilizing those dictator nations for no apparent reason? Obama made a huge mess along with Hillary.

Mueller is preparing a report about Trump's time in office.Someone may have obstructed justice. Trump will tweet no collusion or some such inane thing. Trump advisors are in fear, like it is about a perjury trap for poor old Spanky.

His lawyers can't tell him what is going on or give him good information or advice, it may upset him. It is what it is. I don't see him talking to Mueller. Whatever is coming down, I doubt it matters if he talks to anyone. At some point can't they just handcuff and take him in? He can stay silent in solitude cell.

I hope it goes the best for America and the people. No one likes this ugly mess. No one wants it. Anyone who has messed with the Russia investigation or anything that matters like that must be stopped. Including all that tried to obstruct.

    Will Pence replace Spanky? Horrors!

    1. If they don't take Pence out at the same time as Trump then yes, Pence will become president. His first act will be to appoint a VP and Congress confirm the spawn of satan asap. A Dem majority in the House and Senate might head that off. If both Trump and Pence are taken out then the Speaker of the House become president. That would either be Ryan, or if the Dems take back the House could be Nancy Pelosi. Republicans will NEVER allow Pelosi to be president.

So we're looking at Trump serving out the rest of his term. Three more years of this destructive toxic shit.

Nancy Pelosi would be a good POTUS, even though the Republicans have constantly bad mouthed her the recent past years.

      If QUALIFIED>
"Only the US Congress can remove the Vice President, through the impeachment process. The President can, however, totally isolate the VP.
The latter has only two duties: preside over the Senate and vote in case of a tie and stay alive to become president “just in case”."

"The 25th Amendment, ratified in 1967, solved the problem of how to replace a vice president.
EXample> If Cheney resigned, President Bush would select a nominee for the vice presidency. Then the nominee would have to be APPROVED by majority votes in both the House and the Senate"

(In the event that Vice President Dick Cheney can no longer discharge his duties, how does George Bush get a new vice president?)
Before the 25th Amendment, a vacancy in the office was simply left unfilled. The impetus for the 25th was the assassination of John F. Kennedy--with Lyndon Johnson's ascension to the presidency, there was no vice president in place in case something befell Johnson.
Then-Rep. Gerald Ford was appointed under the 25th following the resignation of Vice President Spiro Agnew in 1973. In 1974, after Richard Nixon resigned, Ford became president and selected Nelson Rockefeller as vice president. After a long congressional inquiry, Rockefeller was approved, making them the country's first nonelected president and vice president."

    7. Leland.

When the VP becomes the President he appoints a new VP. Congress then approves it. More like rubber stamps it. It's in the Constitution.

Nothing says he has to appoint the Speaker of the House as his VP.

You don't remember when Kennedy died? When Nixon resigned? Read Anon. 8:30's post. They got it right.

You are confusing this with the line of succession. If both the president and the vice president can no longer serve, both die, or whatever, then the next in line is the speaker of the house.

That's why I'm saying they'd have to take both Trump AND Pence out at the same time so that Pence couldn't appoint a VP, who would then succeed him when *he* was removed.

And it would have to be done when the Republicans are no longer the majority in the House so that it wouldn't be Paul Ryan or his replacement if Ryan chooses not to run for re-election. When the Dems are once again the majority they are highly likely to elect Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House again. She's done a good job before.

I agree we could do a lot worse than Nancy Pelosi as our first female president. She is perfectly capable. The added bonus would be the apoplexy spreading rampant through the Republican party after she is sworn in.

I think Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh would have aneurisms.

Some poor family trying to cross the border is not a foreign invader.

If this goes to the Supreme Court it will fail. Even some of the Deplorable judges will uphold that these immigrants do not constitute "invaders" and that you cannot deploy military troops at the border to do the job of border patrol. If Trump wants more bodies guarding our borders, then he has to hire more border patrol agents.
