A surveillance program approved by President Bush to conduct eavesdropping without warrants has captured what are purely domestic communications in some cases, despite a requirement by the White House that one end of the intercepted conversations take place on foreign soil, officials say.
You don't say! The NSA just "accidentally" spied on Americans? Do tell!
I call bullshit! The reason that we have checks and balances in government is that we are all aware that without those guidelines the government cannot be trusted to self regulate. They are like a three year old boy set loose in an amusement park. If you don't tell him to not climb over the safety fences he is going right over them. Abuses of power are nothing new and we should not be surprised that when given an inch these guys are going to sieze a mile.
And I am getting extremely tired of our "Liar in Chief" getting up behind the podium and telling us scary campfire stories in an attempt to keep us from asking just what the hell he thinks he is doing.
I am sure that there are still terrorists out there who want to do us harm. I don't discount that. I am just unconvinced that we can't protect ourselves without destroying our freedom here in America. And I know without a doubt that George Bush is not the man to keep us safe. He is precisely the kind of overly exciteable screaming Mimi who just makes things worse, rather then better. We need a cool head. Maybe a head filled with some brains might be nice.
So today on Countdown it was revealed that there was Domestic Spying on our shores it wasn't just Foriegn emails...oh, yeah...right...And they are trying to spin it as "accidental"..what a load...( well atleast I did notice that the "eavesdropping word is being used less by the media)
ReplyDeleteand then the FISA judge resigned...hmm..well, well, I don't think he quit because he felt good about the situation?
and then Bush came out on the lawn all pissed off- " I want my Patriot Act dammit"..boy a real lovely little snitfit right there in the lawn..and he is threatening to veto the extension....
