Apparently Dick "He looked like a pheasant to me" Cheney doesn't like much of a challenge while hunting.

I don't hunt. My standard rule in life is to never kill anything that is not trying to kill me first.

Yes I eat meat. No I don't want to see a video of how my hamburger was slaughtered. But thanks for asking.

But even though I, myself, do not hunt I am confident in saying that most of my fellow Alaskans who do hunt would find this deplorable.

Monday's hunting trip to Pennsylvania by Vice President Dick Cheney in which he reportedly shot more than 70 stocked pheasants and an unknown number of mallard ducks at an exclusive private club places a spotlight on an increasingly popular and deplorable form of hunting, in which birds are pen-reared and released to be shot in large numbers by patrons. The ethics of these hunts are called into question by rank-and-file sportsmen, who hunt animals in their native habitat and do not shoot confined or pen-raised animals that cannot escape.

So apparently our masculine, hard drinking, draft deferred, second in command likes to kill animals that have very little survival instinct. He is killing, what amounts to, somebodies pet bird. Where is the sport in that?

Now I have known many, many hunters. They usually go on, and on, and on about the hours spent tracking their prey through rugged terrain and the excitement of sneaking up on a wild animal and blowing his fucking brains all over the tundra. I have been known to ask them wouldn't it be more challenging, and macho, to go hunting in a loincloth and a spear. I know that would impress the hell out of me. They get really pissed off when I say stuff like that.

But to go to a farm and kill a creature that has never had to avoid predators a day in its life is cowardly! Where is the sport? How hard would it be to go into my neighbors yard and shoot their families dog?

"Look I killed Rex! I am a great hunter!"

This whole adminstration is full of pussies! They should not even be allowed to be in the same room as a John Murtha, or John Kerry, or John McCain. Yet they have no problem calling into question the bravery or patriotism of these gentlemen when it serves their interests.

The idea that our soldiers are dying in a war started by these cowardly pieces of shit just sickens me!
