"The American people don't understand what Republicans stand for anymore,'' roared Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., who proudly declared that he had voted against Bush's prescription drug plan, his Central American trade proposal and his "$100 billion Katrina slush fund.''
"American conservatives have watched dumbfounded as their Congress -- their Republican Congress -- and the Republican White House engineered the largest expansion of the federal government in modern history,'' Tancredo said.
Even Bush's conduct of the war in Iraq, which helped sustain record high approval ratings during his first term, drew dissent from some participants, who said such deadly and expensive nation- building is the sort of government endeavor that conservatives should shun.
Oh cry me a river! George Bush is a creature created by the Republican party. He says the words put into his mouth by the neo-conservatives. He campaigned on money provided by the Republican Right. He rarely hears any dissension from his fellow Republicans in the Senate or the House. What do you idiots expect?
If you wanted to stop him all you would have to do is speak up! Start calling him on these policies that you disagree with. Go on "meet the Press" and tell the American people that they have bought a bill of goods that is destroying their way of life. It took bi-planes to bring King Kong down from the top of the Empire State Building and it will take serious challenges from Republican lawmakers to defeat this creature. You just better hope he doesn't land on some of you when he hits the pavement!
