Even ditzy Jessica Simpson knows that George Bush is poison.

Concerned about politicizing her favorite charity, singer-actress Jessica Simpson on Wednesday turned down a invitation to meet with U.S. President George W. Bush, a snub that left Republicans dismayed.

The apparent final word that Simpson would be a no-show at a major Republican fund-raiser with Bush and congressional leaders on Thursday night came after a day of conflicting reports from her camp and organizers of the event.

This has nothing to do with fear of politicizing a charity! This is everybody on the planet running away from Bush and his basement level poll numbers. Simpson is worried that rubbing elbows with the man responsible for sending thousands of Americans to their death in Iraq and failing to rescue surviviors of Katrina might be bad for her "singing career".

Nobody wants to be around this guy anymore. I bet even Jack Abramoff would avoid getting his picture taken with him at this point.

This may be one of the only intelligent things that Simpson does in her life.
