Anchorage, Alaska - A third dog died in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race Sunday. A 4-year-old female on the team of Chugiak musher Jim Lanier died Sunday morning between the Galena and Nulato checkpoints.
Iditarod officials say a necropsy will be done to determine what caused the death of Cupid.
On Saturday, a dog on David Sawatzky's team died between the checkpoints of Cripple and Ruby and on Thursday, one of Noah Burmeister's dogs died from pneumonia while in an Anchorage hospital.
There is not really much to add to this, it speaks for itself.
