The crazies are coming out to smear Joe Wilson yet again. Apparently Cheney just hates this guy.

A senior administration official confirmed for the first time on Sunday that President Bush had ordered the declassification of parts of a prewar intelligence report on Iraq in an effort to rebut critics who said the administration had exaggerated the nuclear threat posed by Saddam Hussein.

The "critic" they are rebuting is ex-ambassador Joe Wilson. I will not insult your intelligence by going into detail about what Wilson wrote and what the White House did to destroy his credibility. But what I will reiterate is that Ambassador Wilson was right! The White House outed his covert CIA wife to refute the truth! That is the part that is not being explained often enough in the press. The administration was either lying about what they knew or were operating on faulty intelligence and Joe Wilson tried to rectify that. For his audacity his wife's job was destroyed!

And the character assassination continues to this day. Check out what one of the tools from Powerline had to say on CNN's "Reliable Sources" on Sunday concerning the news that Bush may have been the source of the CIA leaks.

KURTZ(Host Howard Kurtz): So let me make sure I understand you. You're saying this is, A, old news, and B, it shouldn't even be written about at all, there's no political salience whatsoever?

JOHNSON(Powerline tool Scott Johnson): Well, it had political salience in July 2003, when Ambassador Wilson was lying about his trip to Niger, and the Bush administration was trying to rebut Wilson's lies by authorizing the disclosure of the National Intelligence Estimate on the basis of which President Bush made the important decisions that took to us war in Iraq.

And then later in the show:

JOHNSON: Well, you know what happened is that "The New York Times" published Joe Wilson's lying op-ed on July 6, and that meeting with Judy Miller occurred on July 8. And in fact -- and Scooter Libby shared the key judgments of the National Intelligence Estimate of October 2002 with Judy Miller at that time. And there was no story.

So the Right Wing continues to smear Joe Wilson without giving him any credit for coming back from Niger with the truth. And where are the reporter's follow up questions clarifying the accuracy of what Johnson is saying or whether Wilson got the information right?

But hey let these assholes continue to take these cheap shots because Americans are starting to understand how this group functions. They can see that the constant spinning of the truth by these Right Wing whackjobs is hurting American's ability to hear the truth and that it is all self serving garbage used in a desparate attempt to control their message.

But the facts are that Joe Wilson was right and Bush was wrong! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
