Top Republican demands that Bush explain leak.

A top Senate Republican called on President Bush on Sunday to tell Americans why the White House leaked intelligence to bolster the case for the Iraq war in 2003.

The remarks by Sen. Arlen Specter, chairman of the judiciary committee, came as former U.S. ambassador Joe Wilson, whose complaints about the war sparked the dispute, said it is time for the administration "to come clean."

I never know what to make of Senator Specter. Sometimes he seems like an ethical man surrounded by corruption, while other times he just seems to be one of the Republican sycophants bowing in the direction of the White House.

This is more bad news for the administration however. To have fellow Republicans saying that something looks a little fishy is going to go along way toward holding Bush accountable. I have been saying all along that until the Republicans start questioning how this White House functions we will never get to the bottom of the corruption within. This is long overdue but welcome.
