It is almost one month before the hurricane season, time to dismantle FEMA.

Hurricane Katrina’s latest fatality should be FEMA, the nation’s disaster response agency, a Senate inquiry concluded in calling for a government overhaul to avoid future failures like those the devastating storm exposed.

Eighty-six recommendations by the bipartisan panel indicate the United States is still woefully unprepared for a storm of Katrina’s scope with the start of the hurricane season little more than a month away.

What the hell is wrong with these people? You do not dismantle the emergency agency right before the emergency season! You may have to make some changes but you don't just trash the entire program!

And what exactly is wrong with FEMA? It worked fine in the 90's and in 2000. Hmmm, what happened after that that could have made it so ineffective? Oh yeah, we put the "Decider" in the White House.

What I find laughable is that one of the problems that the panel found with FEMA was that it did not have direct access to the President. I beg to differ. The problem is all about this President! He broke FEMA! If you want the agency to be more effective then keep him the fuck away from it!
