Israel is a slow learner.

Israel is carefully watching the world's reaction to Iran's continued refusal to suspend uranium enrichment, with some high-level officials arguing it is now clear that when it comes to stopping Iran, Israel "may have to go it alone," The Jerusalem Post has learned.

One senior source said on Tuesday that Iran "flipped the world the bird" by not responding positively to the Western incentive plan to stop uranium enrichment. He expressed frustration that the Russians and Chinese were already saying that Iran's offer of a "new formula" and willingness to enter "serious negotiations" was an opening to keep on talking.

"The Iranians know the world will do nothing," he said. "This is similar to the world's attempts to appease Hitler in the 1930s - they are trying to feed the beast."

He said there was a need to understand that "when push comes to shove," Israel would have to be prepared to "slow down" the Iranian nuclear threat by itself.

So after their disasterous, poorly planned battle with Hezbollah you would think that Israel would do some serious self evaluations before getting ready to attack a bigger and more dangerous foe. I mean if I were to lose a fight I sure as hell would not pick another one with a larger opponent immediately afterward. That is just ignorant.

And why do we feel that Iran is such a threat anyhow? Because they helped to arm their brothers in Hezbollah after they were attacked by Israel? Because they are arming and helping to train some of the Shiites in Iraq as they fight for supremacy? Because they want to develop nuclear weapons in an are a where they are surrounded by enemies similarly equipped?

None of this sounds any different then what any other country would do in the same circumstances, including the US who saw no hypocrisy in helping to arm Israel in their fight with Hezbollah. We are being incredible hypocrites in how we are dealing with Iran and we are tranparent in our attempt to use Israel to start a conflict with them in order to provide a reason for America to get involved.

Mark my words, if this is allowed to happen and Israel does indeed attack Iran we will quickly find America in the middle of yet another major war in the Middle East and this country will see the military draft reinstated so fast it will make your heads spin.
