Do you know who else doubts that the new Iraq surge will succeed? The guys that wrote the plan, that's who!

The success of the Bush administration's new Iraq strategy depends on a series of rapid and dramatic political and economic reforms that even the plan's authors have little confidence will work.

I'm sorry, but when the very people who created the plan think the plan is unworkable, then why go forward with the plan?

How does anybody support this thing with a straight face?

Are we going ahead with this plan because there is, quite literally, no other option? And just how frightening of a prospect is that?

(Oh yeah, the troops don't think it will work either.)
