Do any of the Iraqis who are not part of the government even want American troops in their country?

An elderly woman in a white head scarf and colorful robes glared at the American troops who arrived at the scene, less than a half-mile from a bridge leading into the Green Zone compound, after the dead and injured had been retrieved. The firefighters already had extinguished the blaze.

"Why are they killing us? We have no one left!" the old woman, who identified herself only as Umm Hussein, began to shout. "They aren't saving anyone, they're killing civilians. And who's behind this?"

She pointed to the American soldiers.

I am not talking about whether the majority of Iraqis want us out, I already know that they do based on past polling. I just wonder if ANY Iraqis want us there.

When I see polls that say that 71% of Iraqis want US out, I just have to wonder if even that high number is accurate? When I imagine what it must be like to live in Iraq, since the invasion, I have to wonder how anybody could want the invaders to stay? If every single day there are hundreds of death by insurgents and almost that same number from the Americans then would you not assume that getting the Americans out would probably reduce the carnage by half?

Sure there may be an increase in the sectarian violence in the short term when America leaves, but it still will not match the number of deaths that are occurring right now.

If I had to make a wager I would wager that the number of Iraqis that want us out is approaching 100%.
