With more than a year to go before the 2008 elections, Democratic candidates have raised $100 million more in campaign contributions than Republicans, putting them on track to win the money race for the White House and Congress for the first time since the government began detailed accounting of campaign fund raising three decades ago.
Now we just need to make sure we get the RIGHT Democrat.
I think you are misreading the data. The Democrat primary shapes up like this:
ReplyDeleteClinton is the presumptive nominee of the Democrat party. She is quite the polarizing figure. Money is entering the race on the Democrat side to the second tier candidates in an effort to take some of the wind out of her sails. On the Clinton side the call is out for supporters to donate to keep her as the presumptive nominee.
Things are not so clear on the Republican side. There is no presumptive nominee, and the original front runner, McCain, is fading fast.
The money is staying out of the Republican race until things are more clear.
So you are saying that the money is staying out of the Republican race forever!
ReplyDeleteStill goods news for Dems!
No I think Coldfoot is out of touch- or behind on a couple of issues:
ReplyDelete(1) McCain is toast- he only has 4 states left with staff...he has to shut down in all other states- for paid staff and paid offices. He also has been losing staff left and right, as well as advisors.
(2) Most repugs are holding back donating- to see if the Cand. will hump the WH/Rove agenda or will go on their own.
(3) the repug with the MOST interest is actually Ron Paul- he is the most requested speaker right now.
(4) Mitt is already having some problems...like his staff pretending to be police...
(5) Rudy is starting to have problems because his 911 'Image " is starting to catch up with him, esp the 40,000 sick 911 workers...
IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT THE MONEY , LIKE THE MEDIA WOULD WANT US TO BELIEVE, IT IS ABOUT LISTENING...many repugs have been just as badly burned as dems and are in a sit and LISTEN AND WATCH mode...
and so are many DEMS.....
(4)Clinton is NOT the presumptive cand. that is presumptive to think that- she may be in the lead- it is ONLY summer 2007- we have a long way to go til we see how this Horse race shakes out....but she and Edwards and Obama all are raising the Discourse on MANY issues that matter from Iraq to healthcare- and the repugs are not- and that is a problem that will catch up with them....
and the Repugs / Rovet's are scared- they are already starting to Swiftboat her....
How much would you want to bet that Hil gets the nomination?
