A student minister faces serious charges after investigators say he committed a crime in the name of Christianity. Police say the minister battered an autistic teenager while trying to perform an exorcism. It happened at the boy's Bloomington home.
Police say 22-year-old Eddie Uyesugi, a pastor in training at Cherry Hill Christian Church, promised healing for a 14-year-old autistic boy. Uyesugi convinced the boy's mother he could cure autism with an exorcism.
But police say the exorcism turned violent, and that Uyesugi, under the guise of "God's work," battered and beat the boy.
"Sticking fingers into the boy's mouth while he was restrained on the bed, causing him to vomit. And this happened several times," said Swain. "The family said that Mr. Uyesugi told them this was to cast the demons out."
Police say Uyesugi also punched the autistic teen in the face, a ritualistic beating that lasted for eleven hours.
How can these people exist? And how can there be parents in this world who do not know enough to protect their children from abusive assholes?
This shit just pisses me off!
Really how much longer is this religion going to hang in there? Hasn't science disproved every single part of it by now?
first of all science hasnt disproved anything. and what the hell do you mean 'going to hang on in there'??!! religion has existed since the beggining of time and is the basis for the worlds moral code (which ever religion) all modern laws in this counrty and many others are based on the Bible. just becuase ONE christian is clearly a little out of his mind doesnt mean that ALL religion is a load of rubbish.
ReplyDeleteI only give it another 150 years, max. And in the end it'll just be some sort of crazy outlawed cult.
ReplyDeleteReligion was only developed to explain things that nobody understood. Science has explained almost everything since then. People no longer think that a bad harvest or foul weather is God's doing, they actually understand how weather and tides work.
Anonymous, I take it you're pretty religious to get that defensive. Religion is only around right now because people force it on their kids. More and more people are being given the choice, and are getting away from that kind of backward thinking. Eventually, there will be less that 1000 people worshipping.
Science has disproved God's existence? That's not even remotely true.
ReplyDeleteI believe in God, and science.. I went to school with Ed.. he is a very understanding, smart, spiritual individual.. He was the Valedictorian of our class..I do agree that his decision was out of line, but I also know him, and I know that he had to have been invited to do so or else he would have not performed the exorcism at all. I believe that the mother saw the damage and now wants to play the victim.. but i know Ed.. she had to have asked him to do it.. I want to hear his side of the story.
