There are not a lot of issues that I could throw my support behind with no hesitation, but for this one I will jump in with both feet.

Because “Cities suffer most from war,” Mayors for Peace, with 1,698 city members around the world, is actively campaigning to eliminate all nuclear weapons by 2020.

The link above takes you to a speech given by Hiroshima's Mayor Tadatoshi Akiba. Hiroshima, and of course Nagasaki, are the only cities in history to suffer a direct hit from a nuclear weapon. So they are in a unique position to understand the devastation that results from such an attack.

The idea of doing away with nuclear weapons is the kind of thing that makes my heart race. I could just imagine our world without the threat of such terrible doom hanging over our heads. It is a world that many believe would suffer more warlike behavior but one that I believe would force countries to deal with each other using more diplomacy and with less reliance on threats and posturing behaviors.

Could you imagine if George Bush had to talk to other leaders without our powerful military backing him up? He would not even know how to begin a conversation like that.

Simply put a world without nuclear weapons is simply a better world.
