Alaska Polar bear wanders 250 miles inland. Bush administration wants everybody to know that there is no way this can be connected to Global Warming.

A polar bear shot outside Fort Yukon traveled farther inland than any previous animal of its kind, according to federal biologists.

The bear, a female estimated to be 3 years old, walked about 250 miles to the Yukon River community.

"We haven't seen a bear this far from saltwater in the state since I've been here and I don't think there are any records of it preceding that," said Scott Schliebe, polar bear project leader for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the agency that manages polar bears. Schliebe has worked for the USFWS since 1979.

Have you ever seen a Polar bear in the wild? Me neither, but I know it would scare the shit out of me. And if you don't believe me read the hunters account.

The bear was shot Thursday by Zeb Cadzow, 30, of Fort Yukon about three miles from the village. He and another hunter, Paul Herbert, tracked what they thought was a grizzly to an island on the Porcupine River.

Cadzow went into brush to track the bear while Herbert waited at the other end of the island and the bear charged him. Cadzow, armed with an AR-15 assault rifle, did not have time to aim, he told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.

"I shot from the hip, seven or eight times," Cadzow said. "If I had gotten it to my shoulder, (the bear) would have been on top of me."

The bear collapsed about 10 feet in front of him, Cadzow said.

Damn! How is that for a mess your pants scary story?

And the truly frightening thing about this story is that this is a phenomena that is going to occur much more often as the ice floes that these behemoths usually hunt from are reduced to nothing more then ice cubes.

You just wait until these bad ass sons of a bitch start mating with the grizzlies. It is going to be like a bad horror movie up here.

I hope you are all enjoying your SUV's.

The bear was defecating when he shot it. As usual this is another "great hunter" story.
