Instead of just seeing the small edits that are used on Hardball and Fox News it will prove more informative if you watch the whole thing.
I am a firm believer in getting the whole story before reaching any conclusions.
So if you feel the same take some time to watch the REAL Reverend Wright.
I will not attempt to direct you to my way of thinking by making any comments ahead of time, but feel free to leave your own comments before you leave.
It's completely obvious that the Rev. words were taken COMPLETELY out of context.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a subscriber to the notion of believing the Bible to be of divine construction, but taken within the whole context of the Reverends words, I found his sermon somewhat inspiring.
I watched it, and he is on CNN right now speaking at the NAACP meeting in Detroit...and of course Rick Asshole Sanchez took it all out of context- I was ready to heave the tv out the window - again....
ReplyDeletewho is more racist in this country the media or the Clintons?
I was surprised that when I saw the surrounding message of those much-televised snippets, I realized Rev Wright wasn't goddamning "America" (as a country) at all -- he was damning our indifference to suffering, our historical maltreatment of ethnics, etc. He was rightly criticizing specific contemptible behavior. But all we see in the snippets make him look like a hatemongerer, like a black version of Pat Buchanan at the '92 repub convention. Bill Moyers deserves much credit for delving into this & giving us the whole truth! Now let's see which, if any, of the rest of the media picks up this interview & shows the non-soundbite details.
