George Bush attacks Obama while in Israel.

"Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," said Bush, in what White House aides privately acknowledged was a reference to calls by Obama and other Democrats for the U.S. president to sit down for talks with leaders like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

"We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said in remarks to the Israeli Knesset. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American Senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is — the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

There are a number of ridiculous comparisons in this speech. Number one Iran is not Nazi Germany. And Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is certainly not Adolph Hitler. Ahmadinejad is a small man who is barely clinging to power in a country that is simply struggling to remain relevant in a changing Middle east. He is surrounded by countries that have nuclear weapons and he is frightened of being attacked by America or of losing influence.

George Bush is creating a straw man argument to frighten Israel by bringing up the dark cloud of Nazi Germany while trying to make Iran a far larger threat then reality suggests that it is. This is just more of the politics of fear that President Bush has relied on throughout his Presidency.

Number two Obama has said nothing of appeasement. He has offered no deals or made any promises. All that he has said is that he would "open dialogues" with the leaders of the these countries that we have ignored and threatened for so many years.

This frightens George Bush and the Republicans. They are very worried that Obama can solve problems through diplomacy that their saber rattling, and even military invasions, have failed to accomplish.

The only positive thing to take from these statements is that Bush clearly sees Obama as the Democratic candidate, leaving Hillary out of the conversation, and that he is also clearly frightened of Barack.

And I think that he has every reason in the world to fear a President Barack Obama. The time for reckoning is nigh. And finally we will have justice in this country.

  1. Interesting that NOW Hitler has entered the foray- seems the GOP and Bush have now, already are showing their dark underbelly to Everyone- even abroad....and that he did not even have the balls to say it here- yet.....We will need people like Biden and Richardson to help smooth the Waters abroad.....esp in Isreal....but in many other countries they are embracing the idea of Obama...remember that Bush is dearly despised in 80% of Most Foriegn Countries..

What is interesting- this week Mr Clement- the Main Solictor of the White House- the one that can and does endorse renditioning and torture etc. is Leaving his post....to "spend time with his family".....( does not have a single job offer from a single DC law firm)...and why is this so interesting ??

Because Poor Mr Clement went to Law School with Senator Obama.......

that says to me some of the rats are already cleaning out their little filthy desks...
