Everything old is new again.

Here is a clip from a show called "Market Place" in 1978 featuring Jack Nicholson and his Hydrogen car.

Can you imagine how much further this technology would have progressed without the oil companies trying to slow down the research?

Jack looks great doesn't he?

Where would we be...Puts me in mind of Reagan ripping Jimmy Carter's solar panels off the White House roof.

Thanks for finding this! I remember watching this car on the news and have recently wondered where would we be now if this inventor's creation had been helped rather than quashed.
With $4 gas ($8 - $10 in other countries), today's advanced technology, and information-sharing the web affords, why haven't hydrogen-cars "exploded"? While these cars are already produced by Honda, BMW and others, they're still being suppressed by other interests.
The farm-lobby advocates a NON-solution of E85 corn-ethanol gas (and we end up paying farmers to produce corn for fuel rather than food. Meanwhile plug-in hybrid-electric cars are also a NON-solution simply from how electricity is generated.
Hydrogen seems the best way for us to all breathe easier - so keep sharing this idea and blog.

  3. Yes, I can imagine an America that runs on hydrogen, where wages are commiserate with work produced, where there isn't a grand canyon between the haves and the have-nots. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.

  4. This was a great catch, by the way. Sent it on to my brother, who wrote back:
Our nation is operating under the three basic principles:
    1. Fear
    2. Greed
    3. Stupidity

Somewhere Osama Bin Laden is laughing until he wets his robes.
