Are the Republicans out of their freaking minds?

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of Republican voters say Alaska Governor Sarah Palin helped John McCain’s bid for the presidency, even as news reports surface that some McCain staffers think she was a liability.

Only 20% of GOP voters say Palin hurt the party’s ticket, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Six percent (6%) say she had no impact, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

Ninety-one percent (91%) of Republicans have a favorable view of Palin, including 65% who say their view is Very Favorable. Only eight percent (8%) have an unfavorable view of her, including three percent (3%) Very Unfavorable.

The idea that Sarah Palin impressed ANYBODY while running around the country spending GOP money like a Beverly Hills housewife on speed, and making Paris Hilton and Britney Spears look like geniuses in her interviews, is absolutely mind boggling to me.

How damaged must the Republican brand be that they are willing to scrape THIS close to the bottom of the barrel?

And if they think that Palin will not continue to damage her reputation with the rest of America now that she is back home, then I direct them to this interview, in which she blatantly lies about her complicity in the downfall of the John McCain Presidential campaign and denies the stories coming out about her from her own staffers.

And watch her discomfort as she returns to Alaska to face all of the little people that she thought she had left behind to pursue her dreams of grandeur in this MSNBC video.

My favorite part is listening to her whine about the negative coverage, and the "I know, that I know, that I know that there was nothing done wrong in the campaign" and that she and John McCain (Who reportedly would not even speak to her directly) have a good relationship.

She simply will not take any responsibility for ANYTHING! (And hey, is Bill McCallister checking out her ass as she talks to the reporters? What a creepy incestuous relationship she has with these Palin-bots! I can barely stand to watch them.)

And as for that "pro-Alaska" message she claims she is going to keep spreading until everybody is tired of it? Well as an Alaskan I am way past tired of it! And it is anything but "pro-Alaskan".

I cannot think of anybody in my memory who has done more to damage the reputation of my state then Sarah Palin. Not crabby felon Ted Stevens, not spiteful rabid Don Young, not even that crappy "Men in Trees" sitcom starring actress, and occasional lesbian, Anne Heche. Sarah Palin is a monstrous embarrassment to anybody with more then a dozen brain cells at their disposal.

So hey Republicans! If you want to run her in 2012 against Barack "The One" Obama, then go right ahead!

Hell you have my blessing. Because if you think THIS election was a bloodbath, you wait and see what would happen with Palin at the top of the ticket.

Damn now I can hardly wait until 2012!

  1. I don't know if you will get this, but really have been having trouble setting up a google accout to blog.

First I would like to thank you for your wonderful blog.....It's the first thing I have checked everyday during the election. You are funny, an honest rational thinker, and you introduced me to Jon Stewart....too funny. I also like that I am able to link to all the other blogs from your homepage. Thanks again for all the candid insight it's appreciated.

About Rasmussen....read somewhere that they poll incorrectly, and lean republican, maybe the far-right. That would explain these results. They want to hype up Palin for 2012.
And she's stupid enough to believe they want her for anything but a barbie puppet.

Couple of thoughts when I watched this...she almost seemed like a different person than the one we saw at her campaign rallies. She spewed such venom during those events, I found it hard to believe that she was a well liked governor. But after this interview, I ALMOST felt sorry for her. Yes, she was not properly vetted, but McCain did pick her, and she was thrown into the lions den. On the other hand, she seemed to relish the attack dog role she was given.

Anyway, I think Sarah has realized what this process can do to you...expose your family, friends, enemies, and how you conduct yourself on every level. Sarah does not seem like someone who can take the criticism that she came under. I bet she knows now that she actually has a pretty good gig up there as the governor, and that's probably good as its going to get for her. I don't think you can be a US senator, and not know that Africa is a continent.

She will not go any further than a position at the RNC as a fundraiser. Trust me on that one. The Republican party knows that it cannot attract new voters with such a polarizing figure. Sarah would have to compromise her extreme beliefs, which most of the country does not agree with, and I just don't see her doing that. Obama would have a field day with her running against him. I don't think there is a Republican anywhere who even comes close to his intelligence, eloquence, and ability to connect with voters.

So if she's smart, she'll try to do the right thing by the people who elected her, and protect what little esteem she has left, and try to restore her image. If she wants to run for anything other than the position she has now, I would suggest going back to college, and getting a real degree.

  4. "...Sarah does not seem like someone who can take the criticism that she came under...Sarah would have to compromise her extreme beliefs..."

These are very good points, ones I have not thought of and yes, even a narcassist only goes where they can get the acceptance they crave. I do feel she will return to working with the Alaskan legislature full of anger, humilation, bent on revenge for those who dared to speak so loudly, opposing her in the national spotlight and humilating her beyond belief.

Plain will only be more openly mean spirited, spiteful and dare anyone to try prove she did any wrong doing. She will make the mistake of most narcissist and that is to come on even stronger, not realizing she is out numbered by people who know see her true colors and will not tolerate her arrogance.

She needs to be impeached and the FBI needs to investigate who built her $550,000 house and if they used materials from the sports complex.

Palin is more corrupt than all the other Alaskan politicians now spending time behind bars !

  5. Then let the Republicans run her in 2012! Their party is already imploding, let it continue until they figure out it needs to be burned to the ground and reformed from the ashes. We need a smart and capable opposition party - the current incarnation of "Republican" is most definitely NOT it.

  6. The Republicans want to follow her over a cliff. Why should we stand in their way?
