David Gregory will take the reins as moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press," the Huffington Post has learned. Gregory has been a leading contender for the permanent spot since Tom Brokaw stepped in as interim moderator following Tim Russert's death in June.
Why? Does David Shuster have a terminal disease? Is Rachel Maddow allergic to the "Meet the Press" set? Is Keith Olbermann's head too damn big? Does Chuck Todd's goatee make him too sexy for the job? Is Gwen Ifill still too stunned by having to moderate a debate with Sarah Palin to take the job?
Why, why, why, would NBC make such a stupid choice?
David Gregory is an empty suit. He is not a commanding presence. He cannot bring on the "Russert" when he has a guest who is being evasive. He simply does not have the "stuff"!
The man danced with Karl "freaking" Rove for God's sake! That by itself should disqualify any supposed "journalist" from being offered this important and historic position.
If Gregory gets this job I believe my days of watching "Meet the Press" are over.
He can grill if they are lefties.. He usually does a pretty good job of going after them. But if they are repubs all he does is kiss their feet or something below the waist I am not really sure what it is.
ReplyDeleteHe really makes me ill. If it is true he gets MTP, I will quit watching. I have mostly quit now with Brokaw on it. Only if it is someone I really want to see on there. But not sure I can force myself with Gregory, when 1600 comes on now I fix and eat dinner... the timing is great. LOL
