How cold is it in Alaska? Just ask our caribou.
-80 degree weather? Check!
Caribou frozen like a Thanksgiving turkey? Check!
Checking to see if people who live in Barrow, Alaska have balls? Double check!
I worked up on the North Slope one summer. After being lectured for an hour about never stepping on the tundra, keeping my trash picked up, and taking every possible precaution to not sully the pristine landscape, I sarcastically asked if it was okay to pee on the tundra or not.
I was told, quite seriously, that while it was perfectly okay to take a piss in the summer if I ever found myself up there in the winter to NEVER expose any body part to the cold that I had any fondness for whatsoever. Because the cold was so intense that it could cause frostbite in a matter of moments.
Guess who NEVER worked on the North Slope in the winter.

It's 104 here at lunch-time on Thursday, on the way to 113. Nobody pees.
ReplyDeletebtw, I believe Mrs Palin has a Superbowl surprise for you. Keep the remote handy.
