SarahPAC, which will raise money online at http://www.sarahpac.com/, was registered Monday night with the Federal Election Commission. The Web site went live Tuesday, said Pam Pryor, who worked as a liaison between the McCain-Palin presidential campaign and the Republican National Committee. Now, Pryor is serving as a volunteer spokeswoman for the new PAC.
... SarahPAC will support local and national candidates who share Gov. Palin's ideas and goals for our country."
But it also allows Palin to more easily differentiate between her political activity and her gubernatorial duties, Pryor said. She can use the money raised by the political committee to donate to other like-minded candidates or to incur travel expenses on behalf of them. She also can use it to pay for her own political activities unrelated to her official job.
So Palin, for example, can use money raised by the committee to attend two upcoming political events outside Alaska, Pryor said.
So this PAC provides Palin with the money she needs to continue to ignore Alaska's multiple problems while she gallivants across the country on the dime of her fawning sycophants.
Pryor said that Palin wants there to be a "bright line" between her duties as governor and her political activity. Some critics, including political activist Andree McLeod, have complained that Palin blurred those during her bid for vice president.
I have news for Governor Palin, that "bright line" is already painfully obvious to Alaskans. On one side are the things which place her in the national spotlight and she is tripping over herself to do, and on the other are her duties as Alaska's Governor which she is NOT willing to do.
Earlier this week, McLeod filed ethics complaints against two of Palin's top aides, alleging her communications director, Bill McAllister, and close aide, Kris Perry, misused their positions to promote the governor's political ambitions. McLeod cited as evidence the time Perry spent traveling with the governor on the vice presidential campaign trail and afterward. She also cited e-mails that she said showed McAllister in "an ongoing collaboration with Republican National Committee convention staff."
Palin's press office, citing the state's ethics guidelines, would not answer any questions Tuesday about SarahPAC. They also would not refer a request for an interview about it to the governor. They referred all questions to the Alaska Republican Party.
The facts are that Palin and her people have already violated their ethical standards numerous times and this effort to smooth it over is simply a case of "too little, too late". If we could just locate enough Alaska legislators with a spine there is plenty of reason to start holding Sarah Palin and her administration accountable for their past misdeeds.
By the way I LOVE this part:
Pryor was emphatic that the PAC is not an exploratory committee for a potential presidential bid in 2012.
It looks like this Pam Pryor chick believes that the Wasilla hillbillies are representative of all Alaskans. No such luck chickeee we are very aware that Sarah Palin returned from the campaign trail a changed person. Her disdain for our state is palpable and her desire for national office can be seen in the ever present gleam in her offset eyes.
If it walks like a duck, and it talks like a duck, it is Governor Palin lying to Alaskans again.
You do know she is planning a trip out of state this weekend don't you?? She is invited to an exclusive dinner to celebrate Robert E. Lee in Virginia on Saturday. There was an article about it in the New York Post yesterday... quite a big thing, $200 a plate or something like that if memory serves me correctly...lol
ReplyDeleteOh yeah I know about it.
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact it is contained in the link in the title of this post.
But Mudflats did a great job of covering it so I did not feel I had anything revelatory to add.
There a number of other "out of state" junkets coming up as well.
And still the people of Emmonak and the Yukon Delta are struggling to survive. THAT is Sarah Palin in a nutshell.
I love this line:
ReplyDeleteSarahPAC will support local and national candidates who share Gov. Palin's ideas and goals for our country."
Here are just a few of Sarah SixPAC's ideals all you Republicans must:
Believe dinosaurs walked the earth with humans and global warming is a myth.
Turn your state into a strip mine without regards to polar bears, beluga whales, and any other living creature who gets in the way of drill, bably, drill.
Allow commercial fisherman to overfish waters so Native Eskimos are freezing and hungry with no income.
Share the idea that if your child does not attend high school for over a year and has not graduated they are not dropouts.
Think teen pregnancy is fine as long as you get married (eventually).
The list goes on and on...you know the more I think about it, the more I can't wait to see what she will use for stage props next time around...Trig will be 4 and not so easily passed around, Piper will be a preteen along with the attitude, and Bristol will probably have 2 or three more kids by then...it just gets better and better...I might have to make a donation and sign up for this!
It is official she has already registered with the
ReplyDeleteFederal Election Commission for 2012 President. She can't say she doesn't know yet, until God cracks open that door. She has already plowed through it.

Sort of seems odd that this PAC comes around the time charges are filed against her staff for ethics violations...like she's hoping that this BIG thing will detract her critics from seeing she's been taking advantage and working the system at the expense of her constituents. She's been operating her whole career of late - or as much as I've cared to pay attention to - a bit like putting the cart full of tax paying Alaskans before the horse that she's managed to park in front of the bus she's thrown everyone under.
ReplyDeleteSo, where's the IMPEACHMENTPAC? Seriously. Did you catch Blago on Rachel Maddow? His logic is SO like Palin's. If HE can be impeached, surely the AK legislature can pull one out for the people of Emmonak, Adak, and all those frigid, rural and neglected areas of Alaska.
Sarah is, again, making herself nothing but a laughing stock. I may even donate to her so-called SarahPac. A nickel seems about right, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteGreetings all,
ReplyDeleteI want you to know that Sarah's invitation to the Alfalfa dinner in Washington DC via Fred Malek is more alarming than it first seems. More than just a guy who had an anti-semitic ethics problem in the Nixon administration- He was Dep. Dir. of CREEP but escaped Watergate prosecution, then he got the Bushes into power, apparently Rove studies him for all his dirty tricks...he is behind a lot of nastiness to this day, including gov't lack of response to Katrina, legal aid for Scooter Libby, the list goes on. NOW HE'S TAKEN AN INTEREST IN PALIN.
I have info and further links on http://nailinpalinnow.blogspot.com/
and wanted to draw your attention to this scary development which needs further watching and reporting.
aside from that, have a nice weekend! lol
