Do you believe that you have heard the scariest thing imaginable about Sarah Palin? Well you haven't!

This is not about religion, this is about religious zealotry.

These people are quite literally out of their freaking minds and that is the base that Sarah Palin commands.  They can only see her in the light that their faith casts around her.

What could bring these people to their senses about her faults and limitations?  Only a story so incredible and bizarre that it would shock them to their core.

Does that story exist?  I believe that it does.

  1. For me, this has always been the most frightening aspect of Palin. I saw the video with her and Pastor/witch-hunter Muthee early on in the campaign, and that was it for me. On another note, some sanity hits the ADN tonight:
"Somebody decides to beef about the SarahPac ethics complaint on an official state Web site. That is your Web site and mine. It belongs to all Alaskans. We pay for it. It is more than a little disturbing that her office, apparently swept up in some kind of vengeful tizzy, would bring to bear state resources to castigate, harangue, insult and accuse individual citizens who make legal complaints.

I'm no lawyer, but state law seems pretty clear: "A public officer may not ... use state time, property, equipment, or other facilities to benefit personal or financial interests. ..." Without much doubt, state time, property, equipment and other facilities were used to toss that hissy." Paul Jenkins wrote the piece.

WTF!? Gryphen, how incedible and bizarre?

I am dying to know what this is all about. This must be the infamous iceberg.

I'm just hoping it is not anything bad to do with the kids (lalalala not even going there in my head - oops, too late) p.s. I'm UK Lady just didn't know how to do the wordpress stuff.

  3. No. There is no story so incredible or bizarre that it would shake their faith in Sarah Palin. They'll explain it away, put in a few holy spirits and hallelujahs and it's God's will. She'll help them along with an also, you betcha and nothing will change.

There is a fine line between religious zealotry and plain old crazy. You can't reason with a crazy person.

This is why we cannot have religion in government. I pray, but this offends me.
Except for the killings, how is this any different then the situation in the middle East with it's religious warfare.
There is NO tolerance for people of faith different faiths with these people.

I wonder what the rest of their beliefs are,
    Do you know?
Is this your surprise or is there something else about Sarah?

Thanks for this Gryphen - I haven't seen this one and I have seen many of the bizarre videos regarding Palin and the religious ideas that she adheres to; those ideas that culminate in the idea of a "Perfect Society". A Utopia you might say.

I recommend reading "Black Mass" by John Gray - in it he discusses the futility of Utopianism and sets out to prove that Utopian agendas have always ended in disaster because the goals of the projects have always been unattainable from the outset. Think Iraq war and you will get the gist of Gray's thought. In the book he applys, for example, his view to the rise of the religious right in America and Neoconservistism. I won't give away his conclusions but suffice to say they are fascinating, even if his thinking may prove too darkly pessimistic for some.

I'm looking forward to your findings.......

Gryphen -- I have never commented before but always check your site first thing to see what is happening. This was enough to make me want to crawl back under the covers this morning. I only hope that your "secret" is that "story so bizarre".

  7. I cannot imagine what it would be like to subscribe to an extreme form of religion for 20 years -- well into adulthood (SP was age 24, now 45) -- and have people shouting that YOU are God's chosen one, YOU are the warrior they have all been waiting for, YOU are the leader who will displace the people who must be removed to make room for the righteous.

Where would your head be if you got sucked in and wrapped up with all that?

    Very scary.

  10. I see a near-clinical level of delusion and paranoia going on. And the people who are capable of believing the drivel on that tape, are not capable of being shocked to the core about something they believe, because they will simply deny it. They'll just say that we're refusing our chance to enter the Kingdom of Light, or whatever, and go on without even a bobble.

Personally, I find this sort of thing intensely disturbing and embarrassing. The speaker came across as such a jackass, but I think that was the effect she was going for, and I'm sure she gets paid for it.

Uhhh...whatever happened to separation of Church And State?

The woman in this video is deluded. She can go ahead and believe all she wants....BUT, the dude who collapsed in her church? The one with the "membrane"? Did anyone summon a doctor? How do they know this wasn't a stroke, or a seizure? Of COURSE he was never the same!

SP and her closest followers are a scary, right wing bunch of nutjobs. I Hope that whatever information you have on this travesty is the final nail in her palm... oh wait, coffin.

Maybe it's the Russians...Can Glazier see the Russians in her airspace from her church, also, too?

  13. googling this "mary glazier" is a scary thing. i wanted to know why she has SP's "accent" -something no other alaskans i've heard prior seem to share.

"Mary Glazier is the founder and president of Windwalkers International. A Haida Indian born in Ketchikan, Alaska, Mary was nurtured in her early faith by the Salvation Army. In 1971 she received a life transforming baptism of the Holy Spirit and has since been a powerful instrument in the hands of God. Her Ministry, Windwalkers International was birthed by the Holy Spirit in 1990.

An Ordained minister, Mary is an active member of the Anchorage Evangelical Pastors Fellowship, a network of over 90 pastors in Anchorage, Alaska. God has used her internationally to instruct and lead on the subject of spiritual warfare. She currently works with Cindy Jacobs and Chuck Pierce on the U.S. Strategic Prayer Network and on the Mission America National Committee. Mary also serves as an advisor for the International Reconciliation Coalition."

  14. and, these people honestly, literally believe they are receiving prophetic revelations from god, about things that only they can prevent or encourage, with their prayers. why? because we are live are living in the last days of life on earth. (freaky) example:

    "Warning Of Imminent Attack
    Mary Glazier
    Alaska

    WARNING OF IMMINENT ATTACK
    September 22, 2008

    Dear friends,
Those of you who know me know that I am conservative with warnings and careful about what I release for prayer. That being said, at my prayer meeting last Friday, two of my very trusted intercessors both received warnings of an attack that would cause national mourning. Neither shared it with me until this past hour. In the meantime my daughter Kat and I both were hit with travail on Saturday afternoon (9/20/08). There was a tremendous weight on our hearts as we felt a death was going to happen. We prayed that afternoon and evening. This past Friday through today, I have an ALARMING sense that we are about to experience a terrorist attack that will launch our nation into a season of deep mourning.

Just a few minutes ago Eleanor Roehl, a powerful Eskimo intercessor and prophet, called me to say she senses an imminent attack against our nation. Then Karen Fink came into my office to share the following revelation she had this past Friday with increasing weight on her heart ever since:

She received the scripture Gen. 50:3 'A period of NATIONAL MOURNING'. She then saw Sarah Palin standing alone and she was mantled with the American flag. The flag was upside down because things are inverted (upside down) right now. I knew she was stepping into an office that she was mantled for.'

At this time I have a STRONG sense that we must pray for our President and Vice President and their families. Also pray for the candidates running for election. Something is imminent so we MUST pray to avert what is coming or to minimize it's impact.

Let me know if you receive anything,
    In Christ,
    Mary

Now Alaskan's are experiencing the membrane of insanity that is GINO!
The preacher who fell, of course he had a stroke! These people are insane. When the Leg was meeting for WAR appointment, they did a prayer before the pledge of Allegiance! And GINO wasn't even there!

I believe you will all be miserably disappointed by Gryphen's so called "iceberg". The bloggers often think they have something more damaging than it actually is.

Must you wait for Levis book to hear this great news? How long will that be? What a great carrot to keep your followers hanging for at least a year.

Good job Immoral Minority, great way to hang on to your readership.

  18. Anonymous9:27 AM

I agree with mlaiuppa above. There is a thin slice of pentecostal christians who just eat this kind stuff up like butter on toast.

It would also play into GINO's sense of why the laws of man should not "bind" her, because she is so special... this belief system justifies a lot a bad behavior.

The most loathsome aspect of this sermon is the belief that the "sinful" native peoples of her state are to be converted or "displaced" to make room for the "righteous". No wonder she was no hurry to aid these citizens... and when she did show up, it was with religious pamphlets tucked inside those boxes of food.

LOL! "Sarah Palin standing alone and she was mantled with the American flag. The flag was upside down because things are inverted (upside down) right now. I knew she was stepping into an office that she was mantled for." ...
I guess she interpreted it different from how *I* would have interpreted it: My interpretation of this 'vision': *IF* SP *had been* elected to be VP (and by that, one heartbeat away from POTUS, *THEN* there would have been a time of 'National Mourning' - because SHE would have brought on that terrorist attack...
So, since GINO was NOT elected, our country was fortunate to evade the period of national mourning!

  21. This is not a Governor who rises above the fray.
This is a Governor who cannot tolerate any negative press, even on an "insignificant little blog like this." In case my point is not clear, How do you know that the above comment is NOT made by the GINO HERSELF? I know that is unlikely, but anything is possible when we consider the capacity of the person we are dealing with.

I'm aka Closet Mudpup @ TheMudflats.
Gryphen - I'm glad to see that you're giving this some attention. I began looking into her wacky religious ties as soon as the Muthee (Sarah's fav Witch Hunter) tape surfaced, and quickly decided that this has not received the attention it should. The connections are many, including Rick Warren and James Dobson. (In her radio interview w/ Dobson just before the end of the campaign, Palin made a point of thanking "our prayer warriors out there ...") Some of these people also credit themselves with killing Mother Theresa by praying at the base of Mt Everest and thereby blocking her prayers - have I mentioned Wacky yet?

I won't go on - there's no end to the lunacy. But make no mistake, these are people whose stated goal for our country is a theocracy, and who likely as not believe that if they can just get their hands on the Nuclear Football they'll be able to page Jesus.

The people of AK need to be aware too, also, of the following article. For public relations reasons (people were hip that it means Wacky), Assembly of God has given way to the more benign sounding Christian Center in the names of their churches - like the one that is proselytizing their Wackery to the youth of Juneau using $25K from AK taxpayers (Thanks, Sarah!).

  27. In September 2008, when I saw the first video of the witch hunter Pastor Muthee, it got my immediate attention, and thereafter, I googled and fact checked everything about the candidates, especially Sarah Palin. What a shock! Actually, horrifying! I am a strong proponent of the separation of church and state, and when I saw the articles about Sarah Palin, the videos, and all the research into the fanatically religious zealots directly and indirectly involving Palin, I am mortified to think people like this are infiltrating our government and influencing our nation’s policies. These supporters (the “base”) are the same type of gullible morons who were slick-talked by silver (fork-) tongued televangelists like Jimmy Swaggert and James & Tammy Faye Baker into donating their meager life’s savings to support the extravagant lifestyles of these crooks. And guess what? The Republican Party recognized how successful this worked for the televangelists, and the Republican Party has become a party of swindlers, crooks and liars no different than Swaggert and the Bakers. BTW, I voted Republican until 1989.

I will not insult Christians by calling Sarah and her devoted followers “Christians”. Sarah and her devoted worshipers are no better than the Taliban and their fanatically zealous beliefs, all in the name of RELIGION. I keep waiting for SOMEONE to do SOMETHING to remove the tax exempt status of these “churches” that are directly involved with politics. Scientology would be the first, and the Assembly of God and their “spiritual warriors” is a close second. On second thought, I think it is a tie.

  45. You know what, there might not be just "one nail" in Sarah Palin's coffin, but perhaps "many small nails" will at least make certain that she is NEVER in a position of power again in our state, much less in position of governance in our nation.

I constantly am amazed at how people in power (other people besides our Gov) are able to be confronted with situations that they would perhaps love to rant about, but common sense prevails and they hold their tongues and do not issue public statements reminiscent of what I would have spouted as a 14 year old girl.

Real politicians, whatever the party, generally exercise a great deal of restraint when addressing complaints.

I don't understand how people, of any political party, can support her behavior. Diplomacy is apparently not in her dictionary.

These "religious" principles are not just in Alaska, but in other states, too. Apparently there are other areas that need prayer and change and church leaders send "prayer warriors" to those areas to pray for certain changes.

These "leaders" who convince their followers of their interpretation of dreams and current events are being extremely coercive. The followers become emotionally blind in certain respects. That's why they don't see the same unethical behavior that everyone else sees.

Shining the light on these groups is good for the state of Alaska and the U.S. Keep up the good work!

Newsflash to Sarah Palin: A statewide elected official answers to ALL OF THE CITIZENS OF HER STATE!!! Not just the ones who voted for her. Yes, I know your voters are the ones you pander to, for political reasons. But your job makes you responsible to the entire state.

So now we know you don't even attempt to be responsible to all Alaskans!! (As if it wasn't obvious.)

"Sarah Palin" said: "I will never have your vote so I have no need to explain to you."

    Ditto, from above.

The comments from "Sarah Palin" reek of irresponsibility and abdication of office---which includes being responsible to all Alaskans. She even made that a campaign promise, remember? Open, transparent, remember?

It is not weakness for people to have a variety of viewpoints and opinion. It IS a weakness to willfully blind oneself from viewpoints different from your own.

P.S. Sarah doesn't use the word "amongst." Heck, few Americans even use the word "amongst."

You have no reason to talk to the people of Alaska that DIDN'T vote for you?

Maybe you really ARE Sarah Palin..

Yes trot back lemmings to your like minded non-thinking foolish gullible hypocritical groups. The end is coming soon and not the end you're thinking of.

  58. Totally Scary video!

Reminded me of Sarah's reply asking about her future plans and she commented several times that if 'God opens the door' for her ... Seemed to me that if she believes such a thing, she would have to admit that God slammed the door in her face in November. Might He be annoyed if she continues to try to pry it open, maybe?

Sometimes I do feel sorry for Sarah ... but that's better than feeling sorry for our country if she had been elected almost-President.

Hey, Sarah Palin fans "swarming" this site. Why are you so scared? What do you think Sarah Palin is hiding?

Thank you, thank you! This from a Missouri Republican who absolutely could not vote for Sarah, who would never vote for Sarah, and who is trying to keep tabs on her 'just in case' God decides to crack open that door she was talking about and peek out to see how she's doing with her Christian attitudes ... If that happens, need all the ammunition we can get to convince Him to slam it shut again.

Perhaps, if she and her followers thought about it, they might suspect that He had some real problems with her half-truths (bridges come to mind) and the campaign speeches which created such hatred and fear of her opponent.

  61. If I am now laughing out loud. I mean gut wrenching laughter, is the "holy spirit" moving me or is this just too damned funny? No. I'm not confused. Until Sarah Palin came along I had never heard of the holy spirit causing worshipers to laugh until they peed their pants or dresses. I had heard of and even witnessed "speaking in tongues". It too was extremely funny to me. Not to demean the person's belief that god was speaking through them, but it was just too funny! I was thirteen at the time and even at that age I found the whole experience to be frighteningly hilarious.

To this day I find this type of "production" to be extremely funny, Monty Python kind of funny, were it not for the harm that I believe it causes in children who grow up believing that their mimicry of such is real.

    Peace...

  62. Gemini,
"Reminded me of Sarah's reply asking about her future plans and she commented several times that if 'God opens the door' for her ..."

Seems to me "God's" slamming more doors for Palin than he/she/it is opening.

What I don't get is how these people can support banning books but don't find the term "bulging membrane" obscene. I'm mean, come on. This is you supposed "holy" spirit and he sounds like something out of dirty romance novel. I find THAT offensive.

Hmmm. Based on the Bristol & Levi story, "over my dead body" means yes, definitely.
