Emmonak's Nick Tucker demands apology from Palin administration.

From ADN reporter Kyle Hopkins:

Check out yesterday's post for more background, but back on Friday, Palin tweeted that there was good news coming out of her rural adviser's visit to the lower Yukon village of Emmonak.

"John Moller just returned from Emmonak, reports 50% of residents have subsistence needs met already, others confident they can do the same," she wrote.

And: "Good update re Rural Advisor John Moller's recnt Emmonak trip, great news he reports; we'll twitter assuming press won't pick up good news.

What was that good news? I asked Palin's spokeswoman, Sharon Leighow, today in an e-mail.

"The good news – At the Federal Subsistence meeting in Emmonak last week, Nick Tucker reported that 50 percent of the residents have met subsistence needs and other 50 percent are confident they will meet their needs," Leighow replied.

(Tucker drew statewide and national attention this winter when he wrote a letter describing a food and fuel crisis on the lower Yukon.)

Here's where it gets complicated. Tucker says he never said that and is demanding a public apology from the governor's camp.

“I want them to take it back," Tucker said in a short phone interview today.

“I’ve never said that. Ten times over, I’ve never said that. It was from one fisherman in Alakanuk," he said. "I do not believe that we in Emmonak – Emmonak never said that.”

Those of you who are long time readers of this, and other Alaskan blogs, are probably very familiar with Nick Tucker and his amazing letter that prompted an incredible outpouring of support which helped save the village of Emmonak and other Yukon Delta villages during extremely harsh times last winter.

Mr. Tucker is an extremely honest, no nonsense, fellow that speaks his mind when asked a question and does not put up with liars or people who make promises they do not intend to keep.

Trying to gain credibility by using Nick's name to fabricate a story about how well the people in Emmonak are doing was a huge mistake on the part of the Palin administration and one that is definitely going to bite them in the ass.

(By the way Dennis Zaki is working on videos of his interviews in Emmonak and I will try to get them up as soon as they become available. He also interviewed Nick Tucker about this issue.)

No surprise, really. There is plenty of proof that Palin is a deceptive person. She lies at the drop of the hat. Since she twitted such lie over the web, must make Mr. Tucker's response national news.

You are doing a really great job, Gryphen! Waiting on that video.

I feel very sorry for the people who live in these rural areas and are being treated like pawns in Sarah Palin's quest for being seen as the perfect governor. She makes me sick to my stomach!

She does not have the capability to truly care or empathasize with anyone who suffers. This is a big part of narcissistic personality disorder. There is no doubt that Palin suffers from this and her husband seems to enable her. Can you believe he was calling Republicans before the end of the presidental election and saying don't forget Sarah in 2012? That is simply unbelievable.

The more I hear about Sarah, the more I know she is very mentally disturbed. So are her supporters. Just spend two minutes at for P and you will see how crazy the owner of the sit and the people who write there. Narcississts often are atrracted to each other and it makes sense in that situation.

I don't know if anyone noticed a comment made on another blog where it was revealed that Sarah did not inform Bristol that she intended to fake the pregnancy and pretend Trig was hers. And Bristol was vey upset when she found this out.
Talk about a lack of empathy or caring. Talk about being a user.

She is using the native population the same way. It is despicable. Thank God for Dennis and for Nick - keep telling the truth. The people there deserve so much more respect then this.

  4. I'm sure the Palin camp is thinking,"Innocent mistake! Alakanuk, Emmonak...they all look the same!"
They are just disgusting. But, happily, diggin that grave deeper with each move.

  5. Wait a minute: Since when does any community (leaving alone one in which there's been a crisis) insist that half have their needs met, and half are certain that they will be met? That's insane! That's what happens when one "governs by Twitter." As Mr. B says, "It only makes people look like twits."

Nick Tucker is truly a man of honor. I am awfully glad that his community has him. His integrity makes GINO look even more like an empty paper bag.

  7. See, the person disparaging the "great news 50%" tweet from the twit wasn't "the press" at all -- it was one of the people John Moller SUPPOSEDLY interviewed!

Sarah Palin is SUCH a liar. And so's her Rural Advisor.

("John Moller just returned from Emmonak, reports 50% of residents have subsistence needs met already, others confident they can do the same.

How long do you think it took Moller to find another person whose name was Nick Tucker from whom he could get the desired quote?

  9. Not sure here but it seems as though making a false statement and saying it was made by someone else should be some type of ethics complaint?

Especially if there are witnesses around?

Can he prove the negative? Were there people who would go on the record to state she is lying again?

I'd probably file defamation charges against her in a Court of Law (not a personnel board complaint). Or is it slander? Since it's verbal, I can never remember which is what.

I pity Alaskans but then again, they don't seem to care much (except for the terrific blog community) what happens in their state as long as she signs that oil revenue check.

I guess you get what you ask for when your bar is that low.

When should we start sending $$ to Poe please?

  10. Is this her book title?

"we'll twitter assuming press won't pick up good news."

She is DISGUSTING. Mr. Tucker has more class in his little toe nail than that piece of crap has ever had.

  11. HUGE surprise that Palin is a LIAR. Not.

Seriously, she could very well be a sociopath. She has most of the signs.

Annonymous, do you have a link to where you read Bristol was very angry that her mom was going to use her kid? Was that somewhere on PalinDeception?

  13. She really does lie about anything and everything, no matter how big or small. it's like that silly story about swearing the Secret Service to secrecy when she fell and hurt her hand while running. We all saw the bandaid, we all read about the tumble, so how can she possibly believe people will suck for her cutesy little lie? Does she believe her own lies? Is she that sick?

Knowing how Queen Palin operates, I would guess John Moller never said that about Nick Tucker. She probably made it up to make things look good. Now that they have been caught in a lie....someone must go. John Moller will be out of a job soon. She will blame the misinformation on him. She lies with ease. When will this all end???!!!!!

I have complete faith that the honorable Mr. Tucker will not let this go. Sarah Palin has insulted him before. Why can't this dimwit get it through her thick head that just because she says something doesn't magically make it the truth. She is the most PATHETIC excuse for a human being I can think of.

That's it...nothing to see here ... moving on.

I am not the Anonymous that stated re Bristol but I also read it. It was Patrick from Palin Deceptions who wrote it, and I think it was on Regina's web site. I think soon all our favorite bloggers will pool their info and let Ms. P HAVE IT!!

I saw the comment to and it was on Palingates within the past week. I dint remember which post but my mouth dropped open. Can't wait for new complaints and that iceberg.

Has anyone ever heard Palin apologize ever?? I don't think I have. I have heard other politicians be humble and say they've made a mistake. I have heard Obama admit he's wrong several times which is why he is so popular-he's real! Palin is such a phony. I'd be really shocked if anyone has ever heard her say Im sorry or anything close. I dint think she will do it with this situation.

I just can't get this out of my head when I think of Palin. A variation on the original, but I think appropriate.

'Have you no sense of decency, madam? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?'

So what was the comment about (Bristol being angry) more specifically? I can't find it.

She did say she was sorry if she cost John McCain even one vote, but then went on to say that she didn't think that was the case. It wasn't a sincere apology.
