Having now seen Palin's resignation video, I don't believe potential federal indictments over Housegate have forced her from office.
ReplyDeleteShe says, "...I cannot stand here as your governor and allow the millions of dollars and all that time go to waste just so I can hold the title of governor."
This suggests a current or looming ethics or legal issue that legal counsel says is significant, viable, costly to defend, and likely to not be successfully defended, and presumably, serious enough that it could cost her the governorship, just as Blagojevich lost his.
This clearly sounds like malfeasance in office and not something off in her private life that might have cast her in a bad light.
You and Shannyn better be careful. Apparently Van Flein is on the clock today and listening for anything that is "defamatory" and he's ready to prosecute.

Does anyone really believe her mouthpiece is working on the fourth of July, that he wrote this or that he would use the P-ers for it's release?
Is it against the law to impersonate a lawyer?
And pardon me, I've never read any of his writings or briefs, but this doesn't read like the press release of a lawyer. It reads like a college graduates attempt to look and sound like a lawyer using a footnote and inserting some links. But the language doesn't sound like a lawyer, it sounds like an essay or the beginnings of a college thesis.
Who knows the SourMan's writing well enough to know if it's her little pattyfingers all over it?

This should NOT affect Moore wrt any lawsuit. As SM said, it is not her rumor, she merely reported it and she reported it as rumor, NOT as fact. Also constitution protect citizens freedom of speech from intrusion by government(i.e. in this case Palin.)
Palin will NOT sue anyone because she would have to pay upfront (atty cannot financially support a lawsuit) for discovery etc and would open all Palin's private areas to legal scrutiny by the court.
IF Palin sued SM, first move is to ask for a summary judgment (all attys know this) and the case would most likely be dismissed. Minimal legal cost to SM. Be aware: having adversary ordered to pay your legal fees does not mean 100% of them. Usually it is from approx. one third to one half.
ACLU MAY be available to Moore if she cannot afford attorney. Their application process is not a "freebie" however. BUT then again, with Palin involved, they may beat down SM's door and beg to take on the case LOL LOL
I thought it was a fabulous show, too. I wanted to call in but then my spouse got on the phone so I was pre-empted. I admire all 3 of you. What strength! What wit! What leadership! What fun!
